Loading wax into a Viva La Vape Patriot?

Can anyone give me a better explanation of how to do this than the instructions give?

For one thing, the instructions say to put your wax on the 'plate' in the oil cartridge, but there IS no plate in the oil cartridge. It's a cylinder that goes all the way to the coil.

Secondly, the way the end is tapered off makes it very easy to get wax on the outer glass part of the cartridge, which would seem wasteful.

I feel like I have to be missing something important and/or obvious that will make this a better experience. Does anyone have experience with this vaporizer, using wax?

I do not have any experience with this pen, but looking at the 'tank' that you use for oils and wax, it would seem better suited to oils. They don't show a pic of the interior of that tank on their website. Does it have a coil with a wick at the bottom of it?
