I'm sure/hope linx is listening to us, and it seems like a on demand mode on this vape would rock. As is we have a one minute window for on demand. A longer on demand time plus what we have now would give us options. And options are good. :brow: It might take more battery but it makes the vape duel purpose.

I received a Lynx Eden a few days ago. I’m still playing around with amounts and temperature but am finding out that you cant fill this unit up too full. I was thinking on lines of how the Ascent was, with the very larger oven and everything would fly around inside during a draw if it wasn’t packed full. This has a fairly medium to large oven I would say just my opinion. I usually have liked and have a small oven with most of my vaporizers. I don’t like waste.

I did have some flowers that I couldnt get to go to ABV then put it in my Woodscents and finished it off to a very crispy dark color. This was cannabis from an Eden full oven. Ofcorse you can’t compare a portable to a desktop vape.

Later I then just used a small amount 1/3 full then turn it on red for a few minutes, took about four draws then the unit turned off. Got some nice clouds. I’m not a cloud chaser but I want my cannabis completely extracted. I personally prefer a session to one big hit. I like to sit back and relax. I’m a lazy stoner I guess.

This unit will definitely get you medicated and you don’t need the visible vapor which makes it more stealth when you out and about. It does tend to get on the warm side on high (red). It has the sleeve that’s included in the price. I’ve not used the sleeve yet. I used it without the screen as well which I preferred.

A nice price at $99 and with a discount even better. It has a sturdy feel to it and seems like a clean airpath. Not stinky in the beginning at all. Charges up pretty fast.

Yeah, it would actually be really nice for me at least, to have five clicks put it into standby mode with the lights solid, then three clicks to cycle temps as usual. From there you would then hold down the button during your hit, with the lights flashing as its heating (maybe they flash faster for the first 5-10 seconds from cold for an initial heat up ala Firefly1) with a 20-30 second cut off until you let go and press again. The standby could be a minute or two before shut off I suppose...

But it does work as it is, giving you the versatility of both many session and on demand so not too bad at all. However with more testing I think I confirmed it is just not ideal as a microdoser frankly. There may be a better way to rig something up, but I have not been able to myself. I tried a pinch on high temp, tried the same with a lava pad on top, even tried in a capsule to no avail. It is just not as enjoyable as at minimum 1/3 full bowl I think.

By the way, the Fierce capsule fit perfectly without its cap. I used an Imp basket screen instead for my test, but yeah I just think capsules rob heat and add draw restriction. I find pretty much every vape to work better without them personally. I did try to use it with the cap lid too, connected a solo stem with some silicone instead of mp, and it kind of worked well, but was not stable so it fell apart after a couple hits at 380 lol

One thing I might try to do, since the Fury2 bent stem does fit, is find a way to have it sealed because it is just a tiny bit narrower than the chamber. Just a little o-ring in the mouthpiece, with the standard short glass stem and screen system removed, should work quite nicely I imagine...

@CarolKing nice to see you in here too! When you say using without the screen, what do you mean exactly? I agree if you pack it too full and tight it will be difficult to hit, but a nearly full bowl of loosely packed medium-course ground works quite well in session or on demand style

How much ground bud is used to fill to the top of the chamber?

I think I'll be saving the AVB from this thing. With the vapcap I don't even bother.

I think someone said .3g and that sounded right, I can't really measure that myself exactly. .15g works well and I'd say .2/.25g may be ideal? I save all of mine at home, but its been 3 years since I did anything with it lol Ah I just reminded myself I wanted to try an unground nug!

@Shit Snacks I didn’t use the screen that’s included for flowers. Just trying to get the maximum extraction. Trying different ways to be successful with my new unit. I received the silver one. The black looks awesome as well.

Oh, did you mean the lava pad? Meaning you didn't use the included screen (which is a lava pad for concentrate) for flowers?

I just don't know what you mean by included screen for flowers, so that is all I could guess lol Yeah the black is nice, but seeing that there was a silver option made me think I might even prefer that actually! Are you able to share any photos? imgbb.com worked well for me

@Shit Snacks There’s the three thin screens which I assumed was to put on the bottom of the unit to use with flowers. Are those to work with the thick concentrate pads that’s included? Maybe I better read thru the directions again.

Edit
That’s funny! No wonder it works better without it! What would I do without you people. Good point about the quartz bowl.

Oooh no those are mouthpiece screens? Spares I presumed. I didn't think it is intended to put any screen on the bottom, with the quartz bowl a big selling point?

oh damn.. i though it would be great for that :(
i think that quartz chamber is making some new rules heh...
less vapor and as you tested, less effectiveness on microdoses..

so if microdosing is not the highlight, i might skip it all together.
i use only the F2 for microdosing, and needed a backup device,
but now it seems not such a good option.
almost bought a Dynavap for full microdosing experience but i just hate using a torch.

So far, I have found I get the best results with a full (but not tamped) oven with freshly ground (?) herb.
@mccringleberry I have weighed several times and it averaged out to about 0.11g .

Taste is great.
I need to iso the screens every 2-3 sessions otherwise it gets hard to draw and taste falters.
I can get 2-4 good clouds per session. I usually have to do 2-3 sessions back-to-back because I wait a bit in between draws (as mentioned in earlier post).

No luck on demand though?

Yeah today I even just hand tore a nice lemon haze bud for a full chamber. The first two hits on blue were big and tasty, third on blue and one on green were smaller, but still a cloud. Came back to the bowl several hours later for another on green, one on yellow, then up to red to finish.

Yeah even though I wouldn't necessarily say microdose it is not very much, feels smaller than the firefly chamber and maybe even the fierce... Anyway I was wondering if things didn't get too hot for you using back-to-back sessions like that?

Using it on demand I am having a pretty great experience, its actually nice and not having to hold down the button during hits unlike Vapes that are designed for on demand. I still haven't properly tested the battery life, but I think 4-5 bowls is a fair estimate.

Sorry @Shit Snacks , I tried your way but i just don’t have the staying power for that long of a draw. It just felt like too much work for me (which says more about me than your technique!)

It definitely gets very hot with back-to-back sessions. I put the silicone on the mouthpiece, which has helped a lot. But now that you mention it, I should probably be more careful. It really does get hot.

Sorry to are so late to the party.

You understand that I have been involved in a complex move from an 11 room house to a room and a half (with no air conditioning) and working here has been tough (as has finding anything I own.... all piled waist high around
I love this vape for the convection flavor, and am sticking to blue and green.

I use a cocktail straw with some good suction.... round and round, and it seems to get the job done for me, to clean out the quartz area.

Hats off to you Linx guys.
We all experience things differently, and mine has benn positive with flowers.
How does the Eden compare to the Gaia in terms of power and efficiency?
I find the efficiency the same with a spark extra power.
@Shit Snacks how does it do with a smallish 0.03-0.05 load?
Small loads have been very good to me personally, although the question was not directed to me.
This one was after, same stuff at yellow 400, puffing for a full 4min session:
Mine was a little more tan, but close.... but convection is what convection does.
I have still to test out concentrates, and the combo platter, but I am sure I will get life around here sorted before too long.

I have used the unit on four occasions now and I feel my only niggle is that this thing gets HOT!! I also put the silicone mouthpiece on and it did help. Other than that fact I think it is great for the price and would buy it again. I only use it on yellow setting and get medium vapor clouds. My lungs are shot though.

Looking for a somewhat portable vape with the cleanest vapor and best materials - right now I can’t find anything that seems like a better choice for me than the eden. I was going to go with the onyx but can’t quite tell from images - is it stained stainless steel or paint on top of the unit?

Is the ‘steel’ color just the pure brushed stainless steel and hence a bit more ‘resilient’ or cleaner/potentially ‘safer’ material? Let me know your thoughts.
Thanks.

PS are there other portable vapes with no plastics and medical grade materials like linx claims the eden is? Having trouble finding ones even at higher price points.

Yes Onyx is not a paint, the metal itself is colored, it is very durable and nice.

I like my Eden a lot, still using on demand as I described here before. Taste purity is very good!

There are plenty of vapes available, the purest tasting are usually the handmade like RBT and Tubo and Mist, with all their glass and steel. I suppose even the Grasshopper and Firefly meet the pure material standard, but I am enjoying the Eden more than both of those, it doesn't quite have the power they do, however when used my way it is quite effective! Simple, reliable, etc.

Excellent, thanks for your reply! I’ve ordered one and am looking forward to trying your method as well as the ‘normal use.’ I’m looking for clean tasty vapor over clouds any day so I think the Eden may be exactly what I’m looking for. The price tag seemed too good to be true but I guess it does lack a lot of Higher end features. Glad to hear your still enjoying yours a few weeks in.

Just found this one (thanks @Jill NYC )!

Is this really and truly a true convection vape? Can you almost fill it, take one pull and turn it off, and come back to it later?

Stirring needed?

This one sounds almost too good to be true...

Yup! Especially with my technique. No stirring either, though it couldn't hurt. It really is working as a budget Firefly Grasshopper for me except I am enjoying it even more than either of those.

Thanks! Did I miss heat up time info?

When used the way I do, there is none. It is essentially instant on demand (depending how long of a hit you want to take, letting it go for a few seconds before you start inhaling is typically prudent) I can't really speak to heat up time when used as instructed since I don't do that, never wait for it to vibrate before I hit it, but it does take a bit? Used my way, you never get the vibrate since you hit as it heats and turn off before it "reaches temp" (this is relative temp, I get big hits on blue using my technique, but temp is def lower than say doing so on yellow)
