Liger banger V2.0

Ha, as you can see the cap has made a lot of changes over the last year. But the Storm Cell and the hurricane are pretty close in performance. On the 30mm I prefer the storm cell I think. On the 20mm the hurricane for the 3d rotating action but it's really a toss up. If I had to pick one today I go with the hurricane

Thank you for your input, I appreciate it- sorry for my ignorance but will there be different sizes of the new Storm cell cap, given that there are now a wide range of cup sizes?

If that is the case, the versatility of the Hurricane between Liger sizes seems like a major plus in my book.

No, only 1 storm cell and it fits all sizes. You can see the different rings on the bottom for 16 and 20mm. Smaller caps in my pics are all earlier version caps when the line topped out at 20,mm and there was no need for it to be over 30mm wide. either the storm cell or the hurricane would work for all 3 sizes PLUS they are great for a banger..

^^^ Lefty?

I got my stuff in the mail today as well ...
Nice, especially the new sapphire dish.
And your're right, the new dabber handle and tools are dreamy.
The V2 dabber tips were waaaay too big and chunky.
The last few weeks I've been using the Hurricane cap with a HE ball-point dabber handle (small and round), but it doesn't hold down the variable air flow "washer"; the new handle keeps everything tight and is very comfortable.

What temps are you all using with the 30mm Sapphire inserts?

I don't have too much time on the newest version of the 30mm sapphire, but I've been running the older version @700*.
I imagine that the newer version of the sapphire insert that is HIGHLY polished will run lower.

Behold the glowing aura of the new 30mm Sapphire insert!

I grant you that some of the other inserts are dirty, but that thing positively glows!
The back rank of the 30mms are the "old" V3, while the front rank is the finished product.
As @mrbonsai420 noted the outer walls are thinner, there is a bevel on the top edge, and underneath sports an angled edge.

Not quite as extensive as bonsai's collection, but here's my Carb-Cap Arsenal (CCA?, hmmm ...):

Dab'n'Capper with older Hurricane Cap (note the raised portion above the flying saucer):

This thing is a mother-fucking dart and will redefine "ninja-dab".
It's balanced, heavy, and aerodynamic.
I have to keep stopping myself from throwing it across the room and embedding it into my wall!

Is josh planning on releasing another smaller carb cap for the 16 & 20mm sizes?

The one you're after is in the carb-cap group photo.
It's the StormCell cap in the foreground with the thin chisel tip.
It has grooves on the bottom that will fit both the 16mm & 20mm, as well as fitting within the 30mm.

+ the Hurricane cap will fit the 20mm (and should fit the 16mm as well (I don't have a 16mm bucket).

edit: and the old V2 Stormcell cap will still fit the V3 20mm bucket (& it should fit a 16 V3 also)
Although I'm not certain if a 16mm V3 will be released.

Does anyone know if there will be a publicly available Slimline handle Hurricane cap (newer, lighter version without raised lip at the top), with the DabN'Capper system? Seems like it would be a very nice dabbing experience.

Wait, so is the 30mm flat coil Liger 3 available with sapphire insert now? Is it finally time for this herbivore to get a Liger?
everything is still prototype at the moment, i haven't received my finalized v3 flat coil bucket with the fixed enclosure yet.

Cheers for the info brother. Damn, got my hopes up a little early then. I guess I can't complain I have already got plenty of sapphire to dab on while I wait until release to see how this one measures up :)

herbivore21,
Just got word that a package from CCA is on it's way!!! If I had to guess I would think there is probably the final version V3 in there. An updated storm cell cap...and hopefully some more bling bling sapphire!!! I suspect final production date of the V3 to stay put sometime in October. I Expect it to drop before Halloween for sure But as long as there are no further changes that need to be made to this next setup that's on it's way now, you might see them sooner than that!

I like these surprise packages. I will keep you updated and post some pics soon on my new Red Elvis Klein!

YES! This is my favorite cap of any prototype or production so far for real, I love it!

Awesome! Josh is a swell guy! Glad you are digging your setups as well. As far as the sapphire insert goes I have been using it as my daily driver for a few weeks now and it has seen several grams of concentrate. While I agree with you that everyone should also have a sic insert, I think this can be used quite a bit and kept clean.

I usually torch clean the shit out of my quartz and sic, (I know it's bad for them but I have several and I am SUPPOSED to abuse them for testing sake) But with my sapphire I have been using a strange method that has been working very well. I put small piece of dryer sheet wadded up in the bottom, a drop of dawn, and fill it with 99.9% iso to soak overnight.
When I come back to it I get my dab tool and use the dryer sheet wad as the scrubber and scrub out all the build up. It comes very clean with this method without torching. This is an old Martha Stewart burnt pan trick I adapted to this.
There is also another product called "Dark Crystal" that works well according to some Sapphire Dnail owners. I don't know how long the sapphire will last but I am able to keep it clean so far!
The Martha Stewart Dawn trick works unbelievably easy!! Perfect tip bro! My Sapphire is back to new for a couple of minutes! What temps are you using with the 30mm Sapphire bro?

I was running it at 675 I believe. I am back on the 20mm and sapphire bucket at 615. I love this thing! The 30mm is great but the 20mm reigns supreme in my house. SiC really isn't too far off from the sapphire but the sapphire seems to vaporize so thoroughly at any temp!

Would you mind explaining why your prefer the 20mm over the 30mm?

If I didn't have such extensive experience with both I probably wouldn't even have a favorite, they are both quite great. With the 20mm there is less chance of you letting a little wisp of vapor get away when you dab on the far side of that huge skillet, the 20mm is much less wide open.
I also like the way I can 3d swivel the hurricane cap on it, again if I only had the storm cell I may not even know this?
And I find the 20mm to be slightly more efficient for tiny dabs, the 30mm handles bigger dabs better though. These are both marginal differences and other guys with both buckets may chime in on why they like the 30mm better, because it is sweet! But that is just my personal preference.

Once you have the body you can always pick up just the other size bucket and have them both, I switch back and forth a good bit. I may decide that I like the 30mm better later but for now the 20mm is king!

Also here is some info about the full V3 lineup to put to rest all of the confusion

Flat Coil Liger 3.0:

-Sapphire

-SiC

-Quartz

20mm Liger 3.0 (these inserts are also compatible with 20mm v2 Ligers):

-Sapphire

-SiC

-Quartz

16mm Liger 3.0 (these inserts are also compatible with 20mm v2 Ligers):

-SiC

-Quartz

20mm Zeus 3.0 (these inserts are NOT compatible with 20mm v2 Zeus):

-Quartz

16mm Zeus 3.0 - NO inserts due to the small size of the vaporization surface.

-

Compatibility of carb caps: (Please note: the Storm Cell v2 will NOT be compatible with the upcoming 3.0 gear)

Flat Coil Liger 3.0:

-Storm Cell cap 3.0

-Hurricane cap

20mm Liger 3.0:

-Storm Cell cap 3.0

-Hurricane cap

16mm Liger 3.0:

-Storm Cell cap 3.0

20mm Zeus 3.0:

-Storm Cell cap 3.0

16mm Zeus 3.0:

-Storm Cell cap 3.0

The Storm Cell 3.0 should lock onto the 16mm 3.0 as well as the other 2 sizes.

Oh, sweet, got a box of goodness from Josh! Here are the V3 20mm and 30mm with both the slim and hurricane carb cap.

I have both dishes, I like the 30mm better but on a rig with more restricted air flow. I take small dabs, maybe 30+ off of one gram of decent shatter, but I just like the extra room to spread the dab evenly and clean up after on the 30mm. Sometimes it pools up in the 20mm and doesn't seem as efficient.

(it's funny, because the 20mm seemed UUUUUUUUGE at first compared to the 16mm Ti bucket I used to use before I discovered CCA).

But you're right, @Mr. Bonsai 420, the difference is marginal, both are SO good.

Some LIGER PORN to get you through the Monday Blues:

first pic is both Ligers in their natural habitat, second pic is my carb cap collection with the new tips, and lastly is a closeup of the V3 20mm, the pic doesn't do the color justice, it's like rose gold with purple accents, oh my sweet baby Cheezus:

@subway13029 Personally I think the Auber RDK 300 are the best bang for the buck, that also has top notch customer service. I do not own one, but know many that do and they all rave on how solid they work. The one person I know who dealt with Aubers CS raved on how nice they were and took care of the issue ASAP. I know there will be others that will also have good options and in the end it will come down to you pulling the trigger on what you prefer the most from the options supplied =)

The main draw of the Liger is unfortunately not its affordability LOL. Consider it an investment: it will last a lifetime if cared for properly.

However, if you were to get an inexpensive controller box and coil, you can take the savings and "invest" in a CCA nail. Josh even makes a nail called the Zeus that doesn't have all the cool features of the Liger (not a banger, no removeable dish yet, etc.) but it's only like $90.00 and does have a lot of the cool Liger features (direct inject tube, polished GR2 Titanium, locking coil, etc). If you paired that with a cheaper but reliable box like the $99.00 High Five enail (I use their dual coil model and it has worked great for over a year), you could be dabbing on the latest tech for under $200 all-in. That's cheaper than most decent boro glass rigs if you wanna think of it that way. And your Zeus adapters and carb cap can work with the Liger when you are ready to upgrade.

From CCA710.com:

"The release of the Liger 3.0 is near, thank you for your unwavering Loyalty, you are what makes this a reality!

Look for an official public release around October 28th-31st!"

I wonder if I'll be able to hold out until next Spring like I'm planning.

I'd love to see your review on it, I've been pondering getting one myself to try depending on what the pricing is like on release. The larger surface area and other improvements might warrant a second try for me.

Maybe it would be a good idea to separate the threads when the V3 hits the market?

Might be that would be like the death of this thread, although I feel many might not step over into the 30mm territory?

Just throwing it in the group to see how we all feel about this.

tepictoton,
The 30mm is my preferred option. However it's not practical for most applications. By this i mean the smaller dabs which would be the most preferred method, are less fulfilling. It requires larger amounts to give satisfactory results in my opinion. Most on this website, and in generally the real world are more conservative of their material i would guess. Ive also noticed that although i can go lower in temps(675), the 830 temp seems to compliment the 30mm size more. I personally prefer complete vaporization instantly, which i can only achieve at higher temps. At the 675 range although i get awesome flavor and vapor, I notice burnoff at this temp. At 830 i get no burnoff and amazing flavor. This could be a side effect of the size of my Flat coil, I've noticed some are larger in size compared to my DNAIL version. A larger heating mass. Regardless of the cause it results in my temperatures being there. Another observation of the 30mm is the weight when combined with that of the Carb Cap! I have numerous pieces and majority of the TRUE Dab designed rigs are small (9" or less in height) and their weight not much of a balance to hold the weight of the 30mm. In simpler terms it makes your rig top heavy. Even my beaker styles. My 10" rigs with wider bases and smaller pieces with wider than usual bases aren't effected by the 30's weight.
The requirement of larger pieces and dabs go hand and hand for me. My 20mm is for my smaller pieces, 30 for larger. Sic for 20mm, Sapphire for 30mm. The Sapphire and surface area of the 30mm makes the degradation of flavor at higher temps seem non-existent for me. I don't believe in burn off because my materials don't contain trash. With my VB2 it's instant vaporization complete! Any trash in your materials, chemicals or pesticides and its revealed immediately. This led me in search and acquisition of the absolute purest concentrates.
I would like to say that although the 30mm makes my smaller rigs top heavy i can adjust the Liger and coil cord to make it stable. I just don't like rigging my rigs!
