Hi,

going to Las Vegas next month and hoping to get a little help please:

1. is vaping in a hotel room (downtown area) going to be a problem?
Someone thought they have "smoking rooms" , but they usually smell horrid
Can you discreetly vape in a regular room?

2. From the Fremont area, are there any nearby dispensaries? Or best shops, even if not near.
Do they have concentrates? Never done like a wax/butter/sauce and would like to try...

3. Any recommendations on what to do for fun/unique experience??
I've scouted out a few different tours of Red Rock area---the 2 person mini-car setup looks
interesting, but pricey. Would one get a real sense of the history/story of the Red Rock area
if you rented a car for a day and drove it yourself??

4. Ziplines seem to get mixed reviews like very long wait, very pricey, maybe not worth it??

5. Segway tour--never tried a Segway ???

6. Any Las Vegas FCers want to come hang by the hotel pool for a cool vape, PM me

About hotel rooms and vaping - wasn't an issue as long as you don't go too far and cause a vape cloud to form at the ceiling.

I like the Valley of Fire State Park much more than the Red Rock area. About 40 minutes drive from the Strip. Chuckwallas everywhere!

Never had a problem vaping in hotel rooms. Ignore the dire warnings and don't leave anything incriminating in the room.

Like @His_Highness said you should be ok Vaping in the hotel rooms, just put a towel under the door, crack the window if possible and maybe keep some febreze nearby.

Red Rock is very cool, I go there quite a bit with the family to get away from the city because its so close. The only downside is on weekends it gets pretty busy. I've never gone there on a guided tour before, unless you are taking one of the 4X4 tours, I doubt there is anything they can show you or tell you can't find out for yourself.
If you drive yourself, when you first get there you can stop at the visitor center and get all the info you want. From there it's a 13 mile 1 way loop with plenty of stops at various trails and overlooks. You can easily spend a day there just hiking and exploring.
@grampa_herb also has a good idea with the Valley of fire. If you don't mind the 40min. drive North it's absolutely worth it. An added bonus of visiting The Valley of Fire is the gas station when you exit is technically part of Moapa Indian reservation so they sell fireworks, the good illegal ones. So if blowing shit up interests you, you may want to consider the drive.

The Hoover Dam is also something to see while here.
And if interested you can even shoot a fully automatic machine gun at a few different gun ranges.

Never tried The ziplines. I have seen the ones Downtown, looks like fun but just not that interested personally.

Red Rock has ebike rentals which I'd love to do but I'd be only 1 of 4 wanting that tour

VOF is excellent for views and short walks. Only spent a couple hours in the Red Rock area. Also wild and beautiful, but not so much crazy multicolored swirly sandstone formations.

The only VOF negative was no nice long hikes.

Suggestion if you go to Red Rock.....

I ran Red Rock back in 2004 when I was training for a marathon. Stuck to the one-way road that circles the park for the run. Didn't hike the trails. My brother, who lives in Vegas, picked the starting point for the run and he selected the worst possible point which had me running uphill 3/4 of the run. If he had started me on the opposite direction I could have ran uphill for 1/4 of the run and run downhill for 3/4.

When I started the run I noticed that I was going in the opposite direction of almost all the runners. Some of them looked at me like I was nuts. It wasn't until I hit the crest of the uphill that I realized the mistake.

If the folks you're going with aren't into it as much as you.....you might be best starting at the point in the road where the uphill crests if it's near a hiking trail you're interested in.

Red Rock Vs. Valley of Fire??? I'd say go Red Rock. For one thing there are more trails but mainly because how much closer it is to town. If someone in your party isn't happy with how the trip/hike is going I doubt a 40min. drive back to town will improve their overall mood. Red Rock is about 15 min. from town and 30 min. from the Strip. If possible go on a weekday to avoid the traffic. If a weekend if the only option try making it out there before 10 in the morning.

There are lots of nice views without walking very far at all. If you want to go on a short hike I would suggest Lost creek trail. It's only about a 10-15 min walk to a seasonal waterfall. If you want something more challenging a bit longer, like maybe 1hr to 1-1/2hrs each way, Ice Box canyon was always one of my favorites.
In the summer when it's 110° everywhere else, inside Ice Box Canyon the temperature never reaches above the 80's.
I found this explanation why "The trail takes you through a cool, shady box canyon with seasonal waterfalls (December-April) in the heart of Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area. The narrow canyon rarely sees sunlight, and the cool water and air pouring down from the mountains keep it significantly cooler than the open desert. But you will have to cross the open desert for a mile to get there and scramble on boulders & loose rocks within the wash to get to the end of the canyon".
It's not very hot in Vegas right now so if you decide to go to Ice Box take at least a sweater if not a light jacket.

Google Ash Meadows, it’s about 1hr 45 min drive from Vegas and has a lot of hot springs. I’m Kinda busy right now but I’ll edit and add some pictures later.

Also check out Ash Springs near Alamo Nevada. About 1hr 30min drive North. Not as Pretty as Ash meadows but you can swim in it. No swimming is allowed at any hot springs in Ash Meadows.

Is it likely to be ok to vape at a hotel's outdoor pool/courtyard/plaza/ recreation area?

We'd try to be discreet, I'm planning on sitting in our lounging chairs while wearing
a Volcano like a necklace, tied in with a bright orange industrial grade 200' electrical extension cord

We stayed at the Hard Rock. We picked up Vape pens and distillate cartridges (Both made by the same manufacturer) for about $50. $5 to $10 for the vape pen and $35 to $45 for the cartridges.

We vaped sitting at the slots, at the pool, in the hallways, walking the strip and in the attached mall. The vape pen smell was lemony not herb like and one of us had one that smelled like fruit punch. There were so many people using vape pens and mods everywhere that nobody stood out.

And we vaped and occasionally drank vodka like it was our job in our hotel room.

Usually I stay at Courtyard by Marriott, and pre-book or ask for an "outward facing balcony" when arrive. This gives me a lil balcony where I can sit and medicate(weather permitting), and at minimum, I know I can open the sliding glass door to help "aerate" the room if need be.

Also, most places nowadays have an automatic coffee maker and some complimentary grindz in each room. Make some to help mask any malodorous scents.

What about buy a knockoff, mini, Nectar Collector, tiny torch(triple flame butane lighter will work fine) and some FIRE ass concentrates that you would normally never spend the money on. Simple and somewhat stealthy if in hotel room or parked car(no driving).

Why make this post if you're gonna do the same stuff as everybody else and vape the same lame pen carts?

someone else mentioned vape pens being used all over, not me. I don't intend to do any vape cartridges, flowers for sure and I'll see what beyond that. Since I'm only doing one personal bag on the plane, that means no miniVAP, no Herbalizer etc.
Probably one small or med portable only----life is tough

I saw the Love/Beatles show (in protest) and although I could do without all the dancing and jumping and shit, the music was great and each seat has speakers in the headrest which was pretty cool. It'd be a better show IMO if it was just a light show with lasers, or even if they had a TV with ESPN Sportscenter on or anything else. Full disclosure (as you might have guessed) I am not a big fan of cirque de soleil.
