Juicing Raw Cannabis

t-dub

Vapor Sloth
I stumbled upon this a few minutes ago. I have never heard of people JUICING and consuming raw cannabis for medical purposes. Are any of you doing this? Do you know anyone that is? Please speak up if you have info on this. I was reading an article in Treating Yourself about non-psychoactive cannabinoids and found a link here with a nice video. It looks like the doctor here ran for office in Northern Cali . . . I wonder if he made it. Looks like lots of great articles, research etc. I think this site might be a good one.

I am on this immediately!
I have been juicing since the early 1960's.
To this day, I consume 5 pounds a week in Carrots, as well as spinach, ginger, beets, cucumbers and an occasional sprout.
I have vaporized tandemly wuth this juicing program... and it never crossed my mind to try.... because I was afraid it would "gum up" my juicer with oily resins.
I will research this further... and....
THANKS! :)

Vitolo, nicelytoasted, thanks for picking up the torch here. When I wrote to vtac asking about starting a medical forum I was hoping to see this kind of synergy come from our community. I feel we are going to help each other a lot here. I have been an on again/off again juicer for many years now, have a Breville Juice Fountain and love it! The only drawback I can see to this so far is medicine supply, it looks like they go through a lot of medicine . . .

I use an Omega, (got rid of the "Champion" for the vibration)...
I recently began using a Black and Decker... "Big Mouth".. as it can take 5 carrots at once!.....
I am thinking that perhaps the screw type juice extractor similar to my old Champion... sort of like what they use to juice "wheat grass' would be what we are looking for!

Yes of course Vitolo, I used to juice wheat grass and I had a hand crank juicer called the "GreenStar" or something like that. I can't use it anymore because when we remodeled the house the wife put in granite, tile, counter tops with this weird lip on the side so I can't anchor the juicer anywhere . . . sigh. When I want some grass juice now I just go down to the juice bar where they cut, clean and juice for $3/double shot, I get a quad shot for $6 and follow it down with a nice glass of water. What a great feeling of well being that radiates out of your core when you drink that stuff. Its magic!

Here's what i was able to find which i'd suspect might be suitable as a strain for consumption as non-decarboxylated Raw Cannabis Juice:

Alaskan Thunder Fuck (A.T.F., ATF or MCU-ATF) from Master Control Unit

The THC/CBD ratio averages around 1:1 while concentrations sound impressive at 10 %. Consumers who don't intend to heat/cook/smoke/vaporize it should be happy with ATF green i guess - and i don't mean the buds... The good news is if it's been done before then it can be done again!

:peace:

I read the article in TY, and watched a video about this very subject. anyone have any new info?

Vitolo did you ever try doing this?

I have never tried this.
I do juice regularly (Carrot, beet, spinach, ginger etc), and have since childhood.
I imagine I could try it with an older "on the way out" juicer.
I know it would probably "gum up" the juicer pretty well....
My only other concern is obtaining enough fresh plants that are not coveted by folks wanting to vaporize it!
I am willing, though! :)

The marijuana's abilities as a painkiller are generally perceived to be the result of its psychoactivity - so much so that the intensity of a plant's psychoactive effects is often used as a gauge of its medical potency. Contrary to intuition, this isn't true! The medical properties of marijuana are actually destroyed when heated or aged, as it becomes psychoactive. Heating converts 600mg of non-psychoactive THC acid into 10mg of psychoactive THC. Here's where the exchange for medical effects occurs. While the 10mg retain some medicinal effects, there is only a fraction of the THC left. In simplified terms, in the raw plant, THC acid isn't psychoactive, but acts as a very powerful medicine, up to 400 times more powerful than when smoked.

Surprised to find other juicers. Designed nutritionally complete diet based on familiar vegetables and old-fashioned health foods like brewer's yeast and wheat germ using soylent software. On it for several years and feel great. 30+ year vegan, but this is a whole new level of well-being. Don't juice, though, blend instead.

Would LOVE to juice, blend, or eat ripe, seedy buds! :p Usually eat fan-leaf trim raw (salad). Could even be a significant part of one's diet, if hemp oil and protein are any indication.

raw cannabsi is enzyme rich compounds.... decarboxylate of those compounds makes the compounds able to pass the blood brain barrier better and this in turn makes them more bioavailable... eating raw cannabis your gut will try to decarboxylate those compounds albiet somewhat unsuccessfully so not much neuronal effects will be gained... heating the compounds makes them oxygenated too which imparts effects instantly eliminating delayed effects...

@C No Ego You seem to have an incredible knowledge of cannabis and biochemistry (from the brain effects thread). I'm just curious what your background is in/education if you would be so kind?

I'm a carpenter... with a hurt arm.... maybe need to change professions.. lol..

I have broken feet and trying cannabis years after my injury provided such relief that I have been searching to know what is happening and how to best Go There.. appeasing the mind is always the first step in our logic driven society... the heart always follows later... Thanks for the compliment!

Well you certainly have done your homework and have the ability to digest and retain alot of valuable information so thank you for your tremendous contributions to the forum.

I had never heard of this until this morning either when I stumbled upon the marijuana juice recipe at the end of this article:

http://www.marijuanaresources.com/juicing-cannabis-leads-to-improved-health-benefits/

I just started vaping a couple of months ago and since then I've become slightly obsessed with the health aspects of cannabis. I'm specifically curious to try juicing now since it maintains CBDA and THCA. But it seems like a kind of pricey experiment!

if you can grow then it is a plant and needs nutes, water, light... juicing can cause intestinal stress or gas... you could maybe add kelp sea weed with it to eliminate gas from juicing it

I once read that cannabis seeds have the the perfect ratio of all essential amino acids humans need. Contains fat, carbs, and protein. Fiber. A person can live off just cannabis seeds and a daily multivitamin.

it's not a complete protein though.... using the hemp hearts and seed oil and hemp fiber along with some actives (thc/cbd) would be best all around but people would develop allergies if only using cannabis alone... could take a few generations for allergies to start but probably would at some point

You sound like you know a lot on this subject but every search I do on whether cannabis seeds are a complete protein says that it is. Correct me if I'm wrong but a complete protein is something that has all 9 essential amino acids? Cannabis seeds seem to have them and in the exact ratio we need them. Granted, these are unscientific internet searched articles...

I could be wrong... I think it's just the seed oil alone that is not the complete profile... I will get back to you with more info
