Is VG / PG based vape juice too weak to bother with?
Debating making VG / PG vape juice in my Magical Butter Machine.
Some people say, “VG / PG is too weak, a waste of materials, etc”.
Is this true? Is VG / PG juice too weak? How strong can we make it, under ideal circumstances? Bare with me.
To make a solution strong, use the minimum solvent and the maximum agent.
In this case, use 2 cups of VG / PG and 2 ounces of decarb’d flower.
How to measure strength?
Someone used a formula like this:
(herb weight) * (herb potency) / (fluid volume) = E-juice Potency, expressed in mg/ml.
In this case:
herb weight = 2 z = 56g = 56000mg
herb potency (estimate) = 15%
fluid volume = 2 cups VG / PG = 480 ml
So:
(56000mg) * (0.15) / (480ml) = potency in mg/ml
8400mg / 480ml = 17.5 mg/ml
So, under ideal circumstances, the strongest possible potency for VG / PG is 17.5 mg/ml. Unless I screwed up. Does this make sense to anyone?
How does this potency compare to the carts from the dispensary?
Their labels say they are say they are 30 - 70% total THC.
I think that means 30 - 70 mg / ml.
If I am correct, then dispensary carts are 2 to 4 times stronger than anything I can make at home using VG / PG.
All this makes the alcohol method look more attractive.
Hmm… on the other hand - the VG and PG are both edible. And sweet. Use sublingualy, or add to a drink. It’s a Vape Juice, … AND a Desert Topping!
