Ok so i was surfing the net a few nights ago and i ran into a video about how some guy held his breath for extreme amounts at a time and he was explaining how hyperventilation fills all ur blood with O2 then taking a deep breath you can hold your breath for longer easier. Now i was sitting there staring at my vape this morning curious what would happen if i hyperventilated then took a huge hit and held it in for 30ish seconds. I did it and it was the most intense hit ive taken ever. Obviously this couldnt be safe to do all the time.. Right? What do you guys think?

In my early teens I would swim and play saxophone instead of getting high. Challenging myself to not only reach my limit but to push it. Depriving my brain of oxygen was a way to alter my state before I fell in love with dope. Ever heard of the choking game? I'm only kinky enough to hold my hits 15 second rebreathers nowadays. But knock yourself out man just be careful where you land.

Lack of 02 to the dome is the reason why people say things like 'coughing make you higher' etc. Often when i take really stupidly long hits off my vape, to the point where it feels like im just inhaling into my osophougus because the lungs are totally full, often it gets to a point where i start to feel a bit faint and thats when i know i have taken a huge rip.

Reminds me of the feeling that you get after a big bong rip, that instant combustion byproduct high. Thats what it feels like, because the hit is so instantaneous you know that its not actually weed thats causing it.

but not literally please! take care! :)

id wager that the rush of O2 gives a "high" of sorts to it's own to then accent the high you get from your herbs.

Ive got another question.. When do you determine when a bowl is done ( i know brown means done-ish) but we all know that weed can be vaped very far. Ive noticed that i cant see some vapor without a led light, so does this mean i can hit it and im still getting thc? should i stop when the vapor stops or before

that's a personal preference i think. I stop when i am not seeing much vapor anymore. other will stop when the flavour stops. then others will take it further than me even.

if you can turn the temp up on your vape then you will be able to extract more than what you could at a lower temp. just do what you are comfortable with. i save my vaped bud (we call it avb, or already vaped bud) and you can cook with it, make oil with it... there are a few options. so depending on how you look at it, it's not really wasted if you reclaim it still right?

I vape my bowls until i dont see vapor coming out for a number of hits after giving it a good stir, but thats just me, thats been the way i have always vaped and i can report all the same health benefits from my style of vaping that are reported by people vaping at much lower temps.

I think you should not pay any attention to whoever made that video because hyperventilation does not increase O2 levels in your blood. Since blood leaving the lungs is already fully saturated with O2 under normal breathing, hyperventilating can't possibly increase the level. What hyperventilating actually does is reduce the level of CO2. When it gets too high this level triggers your urge to breathe, so lowering it tricks your body into thinking it doesn't need to breathe. The problem with this is that it increases the risk of hypoxia (O2 starvation) which can lead to a blackout. This is all basic stuff that is supposed to be taught to any beginning SCUBA diver.

Wasn't there a study somewhere that suggested THC is absorbed as much as it's going to get after just a few seconds? That was for smoke, but I'd guess vapor would be similar.

I remember when i first started vaping it was throught that vapour takes longer than smoke to impact you, and thus you should hold it in as long as possible. It probably came from here this is where i got all my info from back when i first started to vape.
