How do most portable vapes measure their temp?

I've wondered this for a long time. Take the Arizer or HealthyRips portables for example. Do they have built-in thermocouples? Or do they "measure" temp the way 510 mods measure temp, that is, calculate the temp from changes in heater coil resistance? Or is there some other way?

Thermocouples or thermistors usually yes.

Not all that well, unless comparing like for like and I would still anticipate a variance.
