    pls.

also curious if there's intentions to make the "profiles" to switch between for settings (once we're able to save from the default one :p )

can't wait for basic QoL updates, so any little fun stuff they add just gonna be icing.

    pls, spill the beans. wheeeeeeeeeen!?

I got the banger/coil from AugustHaus a couple days ago. It's okay. The coil is excellent, the banger is thin. I'm getting better hits off of this than the Liger, but ONLY because I can see how the carb cap is hitting the oil, and adjust properly. The flavor on the 30mm w/ Obsidian and the 16mm w/ SiC is vastly superior. I was able to take dabs at a lower temp on the quartz due to the thinness banger, but it did not make up for the loss in flavor. Anyone claiming to get better flavor from their quartz setup is using their Liger incorrectly.

I have some goodies coming in from dhgate. A few different style carb caps that I'll test with the Liger to see if the visibility helps with performance, multiple sizes of quartz dishes which I'll be trying in this new banger and in the Liger, and a 25mm banger with 4mm of quartz on the bottom. I expect that China banger to be better than the one AugustHaus provided (the thinness of which I am greatly disappointed by), and will be putting that in the wraparound coil that came with the AH banger.

Ava suggested that I try out the coil with the 20mm or 30mm and standard heavy, but I've actually been using the 25mm setting (as it has more wire than the 30mm flat coils, I believe, and is rated for a higher wattage - the coil I have is rated for 150W) along with standard medium (due to the thinness of the banger). I'll be experimenting more and will post anything interesting here. If anyone has any suggestions or wants specific comparisons with what I have at my disposal just let me know.

Im in the same boat with the "Great quartz revival of 2018". Got an AH setup, works ok, but not nearly as good in terms of volume or flavor as a dialed in Liger. The coil and fitment is as good as you can get when messing with a setup like this, the coil arm is wire wrapped to the banger neck extremely well, machinelike even. The flavor is pretty good but I attribute that to the lower temps and less vape volume I'm seeing, Im still getting pooling so I'm prolly not dialed in just right and therein still lies one of my biggest turn offs with quartz, even with enails its still so much you have to physically futz with and make sure its setup just right everytime, regardless of your wrap setup or your FQN heater setup or even your fully wrapped AH setup......where as with the Liger....set it and forget it where as even with the incredible wire wrap job on the AH coil, any real cable pull or slight bumping of the setup will require you to make sure its pressed up as tight as it can be as even the slightest air gap makes a huge difference on quartz' already relatively weak thermal properties. Ill also agree with the flavor of SIC vs quartz, I used quartz exclusively for 2 solid days across around a hundred dabs and this morning fired up the SIC Halo and was again surprised by the "cleaner" (for lack of a better word) flavors from the SIC. Im sure if I dropped another couple hundred on a quartz setup with inserts or a porous bottom banger setup I could dial in the quartz closer to the Ligers and Halos....but I just have to ask myself, other then seeing my dab again....why would I bother? Im not saying the Liger is the best setup when you take every aspect into consideration (dealing with the company) but I am saying that the Liger , just in its physical design alone solves 98% of my issues with quartz and with the inserts its unto 99%, I do still miss seeing the oil. Im chalking this experiment up to pure VAS/GAS/NAS and Ill still put my money down on a best case SIC setup beating a best case quartz setup all else equal in a blind test, without any doubts or hesitation whatsoever. That being said, vaping like most other habits of consumption, are amazingly personal, so to each his own.

Also, and really the point of this post......this is the 2nd AH coil that does NOT function on my HN01 normally, pretty much the same behavior as the AH Liger coil I have, set it to 470 to start, coil takes almost twice as long as the already far to long "coil wake up time" to even register a heat change.... test dab almost bursts into flames and even 1 second of pressing the qtip onto the banger almost sets the qtip on fire, fully black tip after less then 2 seconds of contact on the banger sidewall. Dropped the temp on the hex to 200 and still instant vaping and although much less now, the qtip is still burnt by the banger.....set at 200 degrees on the coil, Ive tried both 20 and 30mm coil presets of varying sizes to no differing results, waiting 10+ mins after every adjustment as Id have to fully scrub the chazzed banger with baking soda before trying again. Im kinda bummed as there seems to be multiple instances of others on this board having zero issues at all with their Hex devices powering the AH coils, but 2 separate coils on my Hex with the same issue, will have me leaving the AH coils on my Kube, where they work just fine.....albeit at a definitely un game changing level. Id have liked to see how it faired with a HN02, but it seems my rounds ship date was pushed back, yet again.

Well put, @ensabbahnur I agree with all of that. FWIW I'm using my AH coil on my HN02 without any issues.

In regard to the inserts and being able to see your dab, how well do your inserts/dishes fit in your quartz setups? Have you tried them at all to see if it's a good solution? Perhaps a SiC dish inside a quartz banger could work, giving you flavor while allowing you to see what's going on. My Liger inserts and assorted quartz dishes are either too big or too small to get it to work well. I ordered several different sizes here:

    https://www.dhgate.com/product/new-20mm-flat-top-bottom-thermal-skillet/404842773.html

I'm going to experiment with nesting my SiC crucible from the 16mm liger inside those when they arrive.

I think the main advantage to a banger setup is you can run it on smaller rigs than a Liger, which in my opinion can add flavors that get lost on bigger rigs. Also no metal in the vapor path, which I think is a nice idea.

I agree the material properties of SiC are a lot better, over 100x more conductive than quartz, so technically you should be able to use lower temps on SiC for more complete vaporization than quartz. That's what the material science says.

I do agree with you that I don't really know how people can get low temp flavors, keep the nail spotless, and still get great vapor production. In my experiments I had to always pick 2 of the 3, but I've only used 20mm quartz enails, still waiting to try a 25mm coil.

That said, I think there is a reason why most seem to be running Gavels, the material science on that opaque quartz seems to function a lot better than plain old SiO2.

My AH banger arrived. I also have an AH Liger with an Obsidian insert.

I like the banger, if only because I can use normal caps. I have a bunch of 30mm Liger caps and they’re all not as good as my 25mm Chadbro bubble cap. I also don’t like having to use a titanium cap (not as good a seal as the glass caps). It’s neat being able to see the oil again.

I think the flavor is pretty good. I adjusted the coil a bit to improve the tightness of the surface contact and I’m powering it with an HN-02 as a 100w flat coil. It’s labelled as a 150W coil, similar to his Liger coil. I don’t know what bearing the software settings can have on how much wattage the coil is actually fed. It may just be for information’s sake. I may also be totally wrong. Regardless, the coil seems to function fine with this setting.

Slight pooling uncapped, perfect when capped at 575 on the dial. Not giant clouds but pretty considerable. I think another couple bumps would be big clouds.

All in all, it’s a total package already mostly setup and adjusted for you for $107 shipped. The 25mm coil deal from Hexnail is a new development and AWESOME but before that got announced I would have said this is the best deal going to try a really solid e-banger in a convenient way. Now I’ll just say it’s a reallly really good deal.

I knew this was not going to be for everyone and understand how this can be frustrating or not as clear in the value as others see in them. I have not messed with the AH bangers or coils. They look great, but I feel the bottom being heated is over kill and will still cause it to give a hotter than expected dab. The chunk of quartz on the bottom should hold the heat enough to achieve the goal of vaporizing the dab. I have tried all the different settings and always go back to the 20mm/standard heavy settings as they give me the best overall experience and my temp is set to 540 to 550.

Again I never would expect this to be for everyone and know it can be a rough road to walk while learning (breaking bangers and jacking up coils) But everyone I have helped through have been extremely satisfied with the results. The main reason I looked beyond the Liger was the overall weight being more than some of the rigs I wanted to use it on. The heat saturation migrating to the end of the joint and causing them to crack. And lastly, the higher than preferred temps I had to run at to get similar results. All those factors caused me to want something simple that still delivered the best possible results. I honestly think part of it is learning how to properly fit the coil to a banger. Beyond that its just using it daily and removing the coil only when its time to clean and then the coil is only removed while cold.

I hope I didn't mislead anyone into thinking this was something that most would hit on the bulls eye first try. I think @YabbaDABBAdo is one of the few people I know that nailed it first try. Its the real bitch of the event in my opinion (Shakes an angry fist towards the sky)

It did make me happy seeing all of you willing to test the waters on something new and I truly do appreciate this immensely. So thank you for indulging my conspiracy theories about quartz bangers and hit me up directly if you need any help or have questions =)

I return you to your normal broadcast

hey guys I see many of you are using different bangers not saying they don’t work, but the only one I have used with consistent results and a properly fitted coil is the highly educated gavel due to its thermal properties and opaque bottom the nail is one of the most consistent quartz nails on the market. The heat retention when just torching it is crazy, I know that American bangers with quality quartz have a lot more flavor in particular the gavel is at the top. The first banger I used was the cryptic culture flat top JTR and with the rounded bottom I could not get a good coil fitment.also I was getting the flavor but the vapor from it was not as consistent as the gavel I am using currently.
I also do hope you guys do not lose faith in quartz it can be a very friendly option when properly cleaned, fitted coil, and the right quartz nail, with that said it is a very finicky option to use if you do not get the fitment and the correct nail you prefer, and that can get expensive

and I do agree that it is more towards personal preference yet with everything out there for us to use everyone is going to like something different or prefer something different so to each his own yet don’t give up

here is what a proper fitting coil should look like on a highly educated gavel

if you need tips on how to just message me and I will help you from there that coil fitment took me about 10 minutes and it’s by far the best fitment I’ve gotten

Def gonna get that gavel banger soon. The fat dab co banger is holding strong and has not broken after a week of heavy use and many heat cycles. I used some wire wrap to secure the coil and banger. Studied many posts and photos. It blows the Liger out of water.

brought my Liger from home dab station to the work station because the Liger has been dethroned by a $30 banger. 550F with standard heavy coil, glob mode with gordo Riptide carb cap, watch out. Giant clouds and flavor. The all glass path airway makes a big difference.

I feel like glob mode really shines with the 25mm banger as someone as mentioned vs 30mm Liger glob mode.

From everyone I have talked to the gavel seems to be the best flavor and has better thermal conductivity than most other American bangers, also a tip to support the coil arm is the errlectric clips (silicon band with s-clips) @mutten840 and I both use them and never take the coil off except to clean.
    https://www.errlectric.com/index.ph...454-errlectric-hi-temp-silicone-bands-for-fqn
You can always run to the hardware store and pick up the makings for them also just have to be creative.

Yes the uptemp and glob modes much more quick to react. They hold steady and drop back quicker than the liger or any other nail type material, so I find that I can run my coil temp lower and get more flavor and then boost it once or twice. That way I can control the hit, I use two or sometimes three different glob/uptemp settings in each hit also. So I get the flavor and clouds I want in the same hit.

I run my gavel between 525°-540°, but mainly never move off of 535° and switch up glob settings for my preferred hit. If I’m on the lower end of temp I generally use a 15-25° and a longer set time period, then with a higher temp setting I will generally not use it or just 8-12° and 20 seconds.

But with all it’s how you like your hit

How are we looking for Round 2 shipments? Invoice has been paid in full. I hate to continually ask but I only ask because the time frames given are not being met. Trying to be understanding while also getting a clear expectation. Thank you

We(Round 2) got an email on 2/23 indicating the following

"All parts were ordered ordered as of earlier this week and assembly is underway; we're working on all of your units right now.

We'll be burning them in and sending them out in small batches as they are completed. Orders will be fulfilled and tracking will be provided in the order they were received. If you’ve ordered an extra coil along with your Red Queen expect to see it in your initial shipment. Tracking numbers will be provided immediately upon shipment."

They are waiting on coils and the coils should land soon. Other than that, they have all the bits needed to complete and remaining builds for round 2.

It also sounds like the OS2 port and the latest update for the new units will drop soon. The port of OS2 to the older touchscreen units is almost complete and sounds like they really shine with the new OS.

Remember you can save some cash if you pre order 3 or more of the 25mm coils. Just need to let me know so I can have them send you an invoice =)

Gave @mutten840 this info this morning. Everything is going well we're just playing a waiting game ourselves.

Anyone else that wants a 25mm coil, please get in contact asap. We'd like to be able to get one for everyone but ordering extras is tough at this point for us.

If anyone is looking for some new glass I've just posted a thread with a few of our rigs in it for sale. These need to move and are priced accordingly. If you buy a rig we'll do 1/2 OFF your 25mm coil as well.

    http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/hex-nail-glass-glass-glass-5-pieces-left.26451/

The more of these we sell the more 25mm coils we can have in stock & the more...rent we can pay.

I'd be interested in knowing a time frame estimate for shipping too. I paid my second invoice 9 days ago when the general email went out. I had ordered near the beginning of round 2.

@lazylightning coils are coming in soon and units should ship as soon as they land.

The good news is, the lag on coils has given more time for work on the port of os2 to the old units and the next update for the new ones.

It’s looking like it will drop very soon also =)

What are the changes that have been made between 1.2.10 and 2.0?
    Different profiles for existing nails?
Better and or quicker temp stabilization?
    General overall change of algorithm?

I know the uptemp settings are new and will allow more control over temperature set points throughout one's dab.
But what are the real world improvements we HN-01 owners should be expecting?

To be honest I exclusively use an V3 30mm Liger w/ AH coil and am in dab heaven.
While I would welcome better dabs with open arms, I don't plan on updating my software until I hear glowing reviews from others w/ 1.2.10.

After updating to 2.0 could one simply override the PID settings to revert the 2.0 to 1.2.10?

I heard that everything had been ordered, but that was 10 days ago and it's already passed "soon" status IMO. I guess I was hoping for something more like "2 days" or "a week" or "another 10 days".

Couldn't get this to embed with the right start time but forward to 43 seconds for Larry David's opinion of "soon"

There was a bad batch of heat sensors and they had to wait for replacements. I think they are in now and coils are the only pending item. I think part of the lag is also due to them wanting to release the next update as it will improve the initial user experience and overall functions. Echo and google functions coming in the next update =)

I hope you can all hang in a little longer as you will be happy with the unit once in hand. That shit is sexy!!!

Also please feel free to shoot me a direct message with any concerns or issues

Is there any rough guess on when Round 2 will start shipping besides just a 'soon' haha? I thought i would be fine with waiting but finding out now that my high 5 enail cant run the augusthaus coil for the liger i just got im really starting to crave my red queen

Cant use a flat coil either because cca710 didnt send the stock heat shield for some reason even tho i paid for it :\ so have to wait for them to figure out why :(. Ive already been waiting over a month to experience sapphire and hopefully bigger dabs and i have everything in front of me but cant use it
