I did not see that documentary, but we all know now that smoking by itself can produce cancer, whatever you combust....
Yeah all combustion of plant material will produce known carcinogens, but it seems the oils in MJ may well have anti-cancer effects. As to whether the goodies in MJ smoke outweigh the baddies on the cancer front, well I really doubt it, but it doesn't seem to be anywhere near as carcinogenic as tobacco smoke. After all, nicotine, unlike cannabinoids, is a toxin.

But hey, when you can eat, vape or dab your oil to dodge the carcinogens altogether, the cannabinoids may be of net cancer benefit. I have a link in my sig to a study suggesting that (mind you that wasn't the purpose of the experiments). It's almost at the bottom of that page - 3.6 THC effects and total toxicity.

Oh yes, of course, I was only thinking of combusted MJ and the smoker's cancer.... coz like you I doubt that the pros in MJ outweigh the cons on the cancer front when combusted.
Whatever you combust is not really healthy... even if not as bad as tobacco...
And the rats in the experiment were not smoking their MJ .:D
