Hammer Or Lotus?

Hey All,
I currently have an MFLB (which I rarely use) and an Extreme Q. I'm looking to sell both to get something a bit more portable. The EQ is great, just hate being tied down to the plug. I understand that desktop vapes are the way to go when it comes down to vapor quality, but it's just not my style.

Discreteness isn't a huge deal. I'm looking for something to use daily, with not too many moving parts.

I actually already ordered the Hammer, but am considering returning it/selling it. All reviews mention the smell/taste of butane which I think will bother me. In addition to that, I don't really like carrying my grinder around. With the Hammer, it's not really portable in that sense as I need to carry quite a bit. However, I've read so many great reviews of how simple it is to use and how much it conserves. In addition to that, I've read that clouds can be huge.

The Lotus on the other hand looks great. I haven't heard much about butane smell/taste. Is it as bad as the Hammer? How is the vapor quality compared to the Hammer? Big Clouds? Any huge negatives?

My hammer is way more portable then my lotus WAS. I traded my lotus because my hammer is easier to grab and go without worries about breaking anything. I keep my glass stems in a plastic case.

Butane smell is nonexistent for me unless im on %100 power. And taste is godly.

Do you wanna carry a vapor cap and stem and lighter and medicine? Or hammer and stem and medicine?

I respectfully disagree. I can pull vapor through my hammer faster than i could my lotus. Not by much, but yeah.

Where do you position your dial? And for how long on the initial preheat? How long to sustain vape temps after subsequent hits?

I just did not see any many (if any) folks say that the Hammer is a 5 second vape, it does sound like it has the capabilities, but not a lot of users go that hard?

IDK, but I do know that I will try to combust with the Hammer. I do for all manual temp controlled vapes I own, just to see the thresholds.

I wouldn't return that Hammer just yet. It would be hard to tell which one you like best without trying both. I love the Lotus it is elegant and more of a classic pipe experience. The Hammer i would compare to a mini portable DBV or SSV with the stem acting as the wand without the whip. I just find the Hammer easier to use than the Lotus. The Lotus you have to pay attention to what you are doing and not very noob friendly"easier to combust".Once you get the Hammers Temp dialed in set it and forget it.Just warm it up and fire away as long as you don't overpack its nearly impossible to combust. And talk about extraction the Hammer is amazingly efficient maybe due to the tight seal around the stem. Anyway i like them both for many reasons but no way would i part with my Hammer! P.S The butane smell is not a big deal it is noticeable at heat up but i don't taste it.

I would say its a 10 second vape, but I don't think the Lotus is a 5 second vape, you can't just heat it for 5 seconds stop and expect a cloud, you have to keep heating.

If you want it to heat up in 10 seconds having it at 100% to MAX would be best.

This is also probably the best example of how quickly the Hammer heats up and can vaporize your herb, starting with a fresh bowl I finished with black herb from less than 40 seconds of heating and inhaling.

Also remember that it wasn't low temp clouds that I started off at, so I'm sure the Hammer will vape in 8 seconds but it's not high temp.

It depends, if i go straight from 100%, its pretty damn fast for clouds! If you go lower you get great tasting little clouds. They're pretty damn quick, the both of them.

Sweet, sounds like I have a lot of experimenting to do.

Nice video!

I meant 5 second vape as in a "10 second car." The car takes 10 seconds to reach a 1/4 mile. I was alluding to the vapor formation as our "destination."

With the Lotus, I can for sure get vapor forming in 5 seconds. I'm pretty sure the Hammer can do the same thing, as it is very similar in design (though I would say a Hammer is more similar to Vapman than Lotus in its usage patterns).

The Hammer is very versatile, I find its usage pattern closer to the Lotus, but you can use it however you choose how you use it.
