that is a very easy fix but you might end up a a little shorter can - u just need to weld another mouth piece section on and then bend it .. poof finished

some of the breaks i've seen here aren't too bad -

the worst is when u are making a piece and the are just about done and BOOM pc explodes on the lathe.:cuss:(thats what we get for using Chinex)

i can totally dominate this thread w/ broken shit from the shop haha

Yeah, that is awful. And... um, remind me again why I want glass?
I'll have to think more about getting a Cloud package... but... yeah....

    Things adds up.

This one was very very painful, fortunately, it should come back from repair in a week. That's very long, the thing happened like 8 weeks ago.

And now this one, out of the package. I don't know how we're going to sort this out, I'm waiting for my blower's answer.

Fortunately my others pieces are fine

I just wanted to chime in and say this thread makes me sad. RIP all broken glass. Including my first PV GonG adapter which only lasted 1 session. (Since been replaced, and much much more careful)

I wonder if this torch (http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/product.asp?SKU=13057451) would be strong enough to mend some broken pieces on my own. I recently broke a very sentimental and perfect bowl that I've had for ~9 years, but it was a clean break. I just don't know any blowers to fix it for me. I know I've melted glass dabbers with the torch.

    Anybody have any ideas?

I wouldn't make glass repair an in-home project unless you have prior experience with mending pieces. I would take it to a local headshop and ask them if they know any local blowers (I'm sure they are going to give you TONS of names) and hit one of them up to see what it will cost.

Thanks. I somewhat assumed it's not the best idea, but we've had bad luck getting in contact with anybody local. Nobody seems to care about a silly little bowl I guess.

You'll need to anneal it anyways, a simple torch can't be enough. To find someone to repair, you may need to search in a wider range, I had to send my mobius to another country for example

Hehe VapeNStone :) The DG has been treated like a gem since I got it lol

I don't know if that would get hot enough for a repair it most likely depends on the thickness of the glass wall. You would probably be best off with a mapp gas or propane torch, then again I am not a glass blower so what do I know? :D

HOLY shit ,the Morgue of the broken glass and hearts:cry: .So far its only been adapters and them PVHES GonG's, always nose diving off the counter and committing suicide, bastards:disgust:!! Well I would imagine for all of us it HURTS LIKE HELL and my condolences to all who have had to 86 'em with out repairs...DAMN:cuss: I ask ,do most accidents seem to add up to when cleaning? or moving around,or is it what ails me..CLUMSY ?. I could understand when cleaning to set up for a mishap.Funny It wont be there that I have my accident, but some where like pulling it out of the fridge and slips out of your grip and its shard city.I live in FL a lot of TILE floors, nothing survives especially glass,if they should meet. Have transporting gear but it wont be there. When I get a new piece I run into the bedroom and open it up over the bed..anal huh,lol... sure enough had Jhans ratchet cyclone almost buy it while unwrapping but the king size mattress saved the day.

Glad to see that we are resourceful group of glass aficionado's and have the help of Jhan as well as others for repairs,Try finding a glass blower here in south FL, good luck :nope: I look around but to no avail.NOT HERE ,I do not have social media ,suffered ID theft so I wouldnt know by that means,I look for glass blowing supplies or I check places for glass artists materials=NADA....no schools teach it here, any local fabricator artists I know I ask, NOPE... I can order all the lab glass you want and I have built high school thistle tube beaker bongs, but thats limited, very little diffusion, swap out thistle tubes for slides and down stems with mad diffusion and you can kick it up a notch, but nothing like real blown functional art that the arteests we all know and drool over, nothing is as cool or works as well and is as slick IMO. Watching percs and bubbles and vapor fill in all the clear void..... in a few seconds..MESMERIZED then even better after vap'n then there are recyclers, they are JUST TOO COOL:cool:

We need to make a funeral home for unrepairable glass and hold services,I know there is attachment to material possessions related to necessity or pleasure, and some of the art I see here is worthy of a proper burial:rockon:RIP ALL GLASS TOOLS THAT MADE THE SUPREME SACRIFICE, MAY YOUR FUNCTION BE RESURRECTED THRU ANOTHER FINE PIECE!

A dispensary I used to frequent had a long display case of broken glass. Pretty much a funeral home. I'm sure if you brought in your broken glass they would have put it in there too.
