im waiting on a AC that will become a bubbler body with the j hook i ordered from planetvape... sucky thing is that the AC was not from planetvape... it was from grasscity (big mistake) ultimately i ended up not realizing that the mutherfucker was coming from Amsterdam to central USA until after it was paid for. Never again will i go ordering things from overseas... cept seeds...

so, As soon as it gets here/ I get a refund and buy a different bubbler i will be contacting Calen for a nice little gnome of my own

my gn0me classic finally arrived today!
first, i'd like to state, that it leaves a very pleasant visual impression. of course i was eager to try it out. but it didn't quite work for me. i'm sure, it was a beginner's error. hence, the questions to the experts. do you grind your herbs at all or do you just crumble it? how big are the crumbles? my herb wasn't ground very fine, but i still got some tiny pieces of medication in my mouth. how much do you load, more or less? i heated the gn0me until the flame started to become orange, but it seemed like there wasn't enough heat, since i didn't get any visible vapor. however, the heated part was too hot to touch. hey, at least i didn't combust.

Yea, it takes trial and error, learning how hot the flame is just by the visual. and for the gnome you dont want to grind at all. Just break nugs into large chunks, kinda like you might if smoking from a pipe or bong. and then stir/flip the nugs between hits so you vape it evenly.

The classic is very... classy :)

    Enjoy!

and I dont see why Calen wouldnt make a straight GonG adapter bowl, since he makes them to order anyway. and I also dont think it would affect the performance of the vape itself.

what about the quantity of herbs? how much of a gram do you load more or less. when i smoke i roll around 3-4 joints out of gramm. how many gn0me loads do you get of a gramm, approximately of course. :)

I'll try and calculate next time

yes. small loads will use even less! its not THE MOST efficient vape but it does conserve your herb a ton compared to any way of combustion.

You can think of 30 loads out of a gram as .033grams or 33miligrams.

Most of the log vapes will work with 25mg load (.025g) and that is about as low as it gets
(Usually you're using high quality herb with a microload though)

i know, that combustion is the most wasteful way of consumption. however, i never thought, that the gn0me would be that efficient. if you load that little, are you still able to get decent clouds? and does one small load actually gets you decently high? when the weed is only crumbled and not ground, how does the heat gets evenly distributed in order to extract all of the good stuff?

i haven't got time to get the new supply yet, hence i'm trying to cover the theoretical grounds. :)

I think with the gn0me, everyone have their own method. Some use a screen for fine powder (I do with the slider), some put in a nugg and rip at it, some put crumbled herb. With the Cone I use tobacco leaves (that I grew in my yard this summer) to make small screens, but I also use very coarse grinds without any screen.

A lot depends on the herb and how dry it is I guess

So I have a couple quick questions about this vape! I was looking on their web page to order one and I am confused and I wanted to ask the differences and opinions of the Cone vs the slider and which ones you preferred. also I was wondering i need to buy a waterpipe adapter either way if i want to hook this thing up it looks like but I can only do this with the cone version? any help would be appreciated I am really interested in this thing looks like a solid vape and I like the all glass idea

The "Cone" Gnome, formerly known as just the GonG Gnome vape, is the one that fits the water pipe adapter, so it can be hooked up to GonG waterpipes. The slider is the formerly known as the "Classic" gnome vape, which is the dry piece, you can see both the Cone and the Slider in photos on the first page of this thread :) Hope that helped.

I'll just add that i used both the Cone and the Slider, in my 14mm Ehle with no water pipe adapter and no tubing. The seal is not as perfect but it still works just not the same.

For a long time i just used a slider, it is easier to get up to temp but it is easier to drop the top part since you don't have a gong conection between each tube.

I cant tell you which one i prefer since i prefer the faster heating in the slider and the security i feel in the cone.

My guess is, you will be well served and satisfied with either one.

I love mine, and i don't think i'll ever sell them. Best vaporizer price-quality ratio IMO. Awesome taste, efficient extraction. Quick, easy, you can use it anywhere where there is some privacy. No need to worry about batteries or to plug it somewhere.

Just a torch lighter, the gn0me and some green gn0me food. heheh.

    I LOVE my gn0mes.

Not only are they super efficient, but they are by far the coolest and most beautiful vapes out there. If ritual is important to you, then the gn0me is what you're looking for.

so do you have to use the cone with a water pipe or can you just use it native like the slider it just as a gong connection? is there a screen in the cone or is it all glass too just like the slider I am probably going to order a slider today and see how i like it

The gn0mes were made to be used native although they work well paired with water. Neither has a screen but the cone is easier to put one.

You can't go wrong with either one. I love my gn0mes.

So after much deliberation I decided to pull the trigger and go with the GonG Gn0me with a WP adapter! Calen has been very good to deal with I have sent him a couple emails and he got right back to me (I saw a few months ago he seemed to be behind or people were having trouble getting in touch with him). I can't wait to have this thing in my hand and taste the differences between the gn0me and my supreme which currently serves as my daily driver

I used to use the Supreme, the last big hitter flame powered vape I had used before the Gnome. there is no comparison, the Gnome is much better and cleaner. Its also less expensive. AND can be cleaned completely. :)

That is so funny the reasons you mentioned above are exactly why I wanted to switch. I love the supreme and it will always hold a special place in the vape world for me but I could definitely see myself a purist glass snob.... not even in a bad way I just love the look, feel, taste, and overall cleanliness of glass.

So Calen seems like a nice guy, but I wish he was a full time glass blower haha he hasn't gotten around to my order yet as he has been bogged down with work lately. I am itching to get gn0ming but I am sure waiting will make me appreciate it more! I am stoked to get one though I can't wait looks like lots of fun bu I am surprised that no one posts any vids of them using the classic I ended up asking calen for both because I know i will want one eventually so I might as well get them all while I can with as minimal waiting as possible! maybe someone will post me a vid of the classic in use?

Cheers gn0mers happy vaping hope to join the club soon!
