Getting started glass blowing

Hi Folks

I am interested in trying glass blowing but have no idea how to get started. I am in North West UK and have looked into courses etc but cant really find anything.

I am wondering if it is possible to teach yourself?

Also the best setup for a beginner? How much will it cost to get going?

I know there are a fair few established blowers on here so i was hoping you guys could maybe chip in with some advice?

Ah, my bad, sorry, it was just a quick search on my phone while at work.

Best of luck with the glass blowing, I hope you'll keep us all updated with any progress :)

I'd love to try it myself one day too..
I'm not sure how many 420 friendly glass artists there are in the UK :shrug:

Hello mate. I'm a uk lamp worker and based in the south west. It's pretty difficult and expensive over here to get into it. youll need at least a grand for the basic kit and somewhere to put it. As for courses there isn't really any. Lots of soft glass bead ladies but sod all for us boroboyz haha. Im just about to set up a small class where I work, but it's prob a bit far for you to travel. Most boro workers keep to themselves too so not too easy to get classes. I'm happy to help if I can though mate.
