Generic cold plate for sticky rosin ...

I needed a cold plate to help separate sticky rosin from parchment paper.
I was dismayed seeing metal plates costing up tp $250.
I put a stack of thick ceramic dinner plates in the freezer.
They work great! I even used a frozen chainsaw bar - It worked too !

Yes,the prices they are charging for a flat square of aluminum is indeed outrageous.

Check out risinpressny.com. He sells a plate for $25 and it works fine.

Alternatively, look around local glass places and see if you can get a 1/2” - 1” piece of glass. This will also work well

There sure are lots of ways to skin a cat ... and the cat don't like any of them.
I found a big cast iron skillet at the thrift store for $2 and cut it in half.
I keep half in the freezer when I use the other half.
It hard for me to justify spending much money - The plates work good for free.
