I bought some ganja that is so soft and fluffy kinda feels like felt. Its my first time getting something like this just curious on others experience? The texture is different than anything else I have seen. So far it didnt last too long in my vape compared to others I am thinking I need to dry it out (the ABV came out less brown than other batches)?

In my experience you just need to let it dry up a bit. Fluffy bud is great for a smoker, but not so much for a vaporist. In addition, I find that drier bud produces a much finer grind, which provides more surface area to be vaporized. I would just leave the herb out in a dark, dry environment until its texture becomes more desirable. Then when you grind it, it should be much better suited for a vape. If you find that the ground herb is still not dry enough, just let it sit for a while as well.

Good advice Shmoo! If your grinder is kind of ripping the buds apart,it's to damp. It took me a while to understand the importance of proper drying. I usually like to grind my stuff almost to powder. Experiment a little and you'll get the hang of it pretty damn quick!

sounds like there is still some moisture in them. also the lower buds are always fluffy.
i mainly smoke herb and prefer mine with some moisture and life left in it. personally i hate over dried herb. it's ok for vaping if you dont mind powdered buds.

I have found that tighter, more dense buds always vape better. Ive been faced with the problem lately of getting fluffier herb that doesn't last as long or get as dark in the vape. I would do what everyone has recomended and let your herbs dry out a little and try vaping it at a little bit higher temperature.

Sounds like the grower was impatient a harvested early before the buds matured properly for either an up buzz with clear/cloudy trich's or they didn't finish off with some carbs/sweet to firm them up in the end.

Aside from whats been mentioned regarding drying it more, I'd also suggest more jar curing is in order if its still damp/wet.

Lots of dealers are motivated by greed, and spraying a quarter pound of bud with an ounce is an easy way to make a couple hundred bucks. Fucking drug dealers, can we please legalize and have some standards in our dealings before someone snaps and caps another dealer?
Don't get me wrong, many dealers are great people, but the bad ones should be strung up by their testicles.

Thanks guys for the great info. I appreciate the insight that you guys bring. The guy is a stand up person and a friend but whoever is his hookup screwed up. I think with some drying it will be salvageable. The guy offered to take it back for something else but I will just dry it and use it since I already grinded everything to dry it out better.

I have what I thought was too damp of bud, upon "drying" it stayed the same stickiness. This shit throws me on a loop every time ;) me and my guy were both suspicious at the start. And my smoker friends say it smokes just fine. So I guess it's just super sticky icky haha

I just got some very fluffy and soft sativa bud. Im not as used to sativa since its much less common around here, and I have the exact same problem with it. Im hoping this just means itll be amazing in a month or so.
Just thought I might add, I combusted some in a j and it burned great, and was pretty smooth (smooth for combustion of course). It just doesn't vape good

I get your point, but believe it exists on both sides of the fence. I see dispensaries charging as much as 1/3 more $ than street value for the same or lower quality meds. I have seen overly moist meds at dispensaries. If the state gets a cut of profits (tax), isn't that an added expense to the consumers?

Many times, the black market fills a void created by unjust laws and stupid or evil governments. Most people growing and selling legally today, were growing and selling illegally yesterday. All of these great strains and grower experience didn't happen overnight once legalization occurred.

I think in most cases like this, the smoke was never dried enough in the 1st place. If it wasn't dried properly, there definitely wasn't any cure.

Smokum - growers who rely on finishers are usually compensating for either inexperience or poor strain choice. Under the proper growing conditions, you should not need to 'convince' flowers to harden. Good chance the culprit is insufficient light output. A guy w/ a 400w lamp isn't going to be as successful as an equally skilled grower w/ a 1000w lamp.
That said, sweet is a decent (not organic) product whose ability to "harden" flowers is only incidental. It's main function is to create cellular division, which in turn makes for lusher growth. To this end, I believe it works better in veg than flower - unless your goal is just to increase sugar production.

Meds that are 'too' dried out always taste way too harsh for me. I like just enough moisture to retain the slightest pliability. If the quality of my vapor is improved (imo) using .3 instead of .2, I am ok w/ that.

+Like for Huey!

I've had plenty of soft fluffy stuf that doesn't compress well in the Pax, and even after drying it still isn't the same as dense/sticky stuff, I have a feeling it has to do with the genetics and properties of the plant as well...

Olivia, fluffy buds are great at low temperatures. Your going to get flavor in it's most intense form at this point. Depending on how much you got, I would set a few nugz aside for a nice early morning or mid day low temperature hit. It'll give you a nice little buzz without the couch-lock. The rest you don't really have to dry it, I mean, the drier it is the more crystals fall off so it kinda balances it out. It's going to dry anyway. Know what I mean?
