    Thoughts on the Nano?

    1. Using Newest Black Ceramic Heating Chamber and Convection Preheating Technology, Pure Taste and Huge Vapor with Faster Heating.

    2. Using Replaceable High Rate Discharge 18650 Battery, No longer have to worry about the battery is out of power.

    3. Using a larger and brighter 0.96 Inch HD Screen.

    4. New Vibration Prompt Function, It will vibrate when you turn it on or the Temp reaches your setting Temp.

    5. Magnetic Mouthpiece and Magnetic Water Pipe Adapter, Easier to use.

Just saw the FM v5 Nano in the Fog thread and came looking here to follow the discussion.

Really looking forward to the release, since I always enjoyed my FM Mini. The FM Mini was the Vape that really converted me from smoking to vaping. It is always gonna have a place in my heart. :)

    “Convection preheating technology” AKA conduction.

Could be for preheating the air.

In theory, they could be preheating a mass before the herbs...sort of like the supreme or elev8r....however I doubt that is the case in a tiny little portable. If it's preheating, it is conduction. Yeah, I am not feeling ceramic bowls anymore. I've graduated way past that lol
I do like the magnetic mouthpiece and water adapter. Very cool. I wish magnetic closures were more common in general with vapes. Replaceable battery is very cool...so cool I would say essentially mandatory these days for a vape. It doesn't sound all bad.

I might get one for testing at some point, but they are resolving some remaining problems at the moment so I don't know if they will make it before CNY or not.

I'm curious about the preheating part too, but they know how to make true convection vapes now (CFV/SwiftPro and soon Tera) as well as a variable ratio vape in the making (CFX2) So it's quite possible that they added some kind of heat exchanger on the air intake side.

We'll be fixed once we see what's inside!

Looking forward to giving the V5 Nano a try, finally a vaporizer with a removal battery made by Flowermate. I'm curious about the black ceramic chamber, hopefully it won't be too gassy.

Please do not disseminate false information when you want to critique a vaporizer, specially when you do not own the vaporizer and your opinion is based upon some other opinions you read on this thread. Preheating, has nothing to do with conduction or convection. Convection uses only hot air to heat the material. If the vaporizer is a session type, like most are, there is will always heat getting to the material. I know the Elev8r has a hardcore following, but it is also feeding heat to the material when you use it with the stock wand and heater. I think the difference you are thinking about is on-demand vaporizers, like Milaana, Morwood Nomad, Firefly 2, etc. The only preheat they can get is user created. It is cool to give reviews, good or bad. It is imperative the information we provide is accurate, specially when the review is negative.

@CL52613 I believe it's clear I was speculating, not spreading false information.
Warming up a ceramic bowl with flower in it is most certainly going to be conduction. Name another vape that has a ceramic bowl that heats up and is primarily convection.

To be clear: I am not reviewing anything. We are sharing our thoughts on a product, and I'm not the only one sharing my thoughts about it despite not owning it, yet I'm not sure why you are singling me out, acting like I'm giving a bad review. I won't review this, cause I'm not buying it, because it doesn't look like a vape I would enjoy. I have no review of this product, only an opinion.

So what I was trying to get at has nothing to do with other vapes I use and love, and more to do with physics. What is being preheated? A heating element/mass that we then pull air away from and over the herb, or the ceramic bowl? If it is the ceramic bowl that's heated, which because of the size and how other vapes with a bowl like this operate, I believe it will be conduction, which is not something I'm personally interested in.

The elev8r and other pure convection vaporizers do not warm the herb until warm air is pulled over the herb. Any pre heating does not heat the herb. That would be conduction.

I hope this clears things up.

Sincere apologies, not singling you out for anything other than providing information that is not accurate. As you did again by suggesting that preheating material equals conduction. Preheating has nothing to do with the type of heat being used to produce vapor. Convection can preheat material, heat rises and expands, as it expands it will find the path of least resistance, which would be the bowl or chamber holding the material. Again apologize and do not mean to offend only clarify that preheat does not mean conduction.

    What are they preheating?

With convection, the herb is heated with hot air. Are they preheating the oven that the herb sits in its still calling it convection. I'm not lying, and other manufactures have tried saying their product was pure convection when it wasn't. It's a buzz word, so it gets included a lot in vape descriptions.

I believe they are saying the hot air created by the heating element is using osmosis to preheat the material in the chamber or bowl. The hot air has to go somewhere, since heat rises it passes through the material in the bowl. Convection is not a buzz word, it is a real process used for transferring heat. I do not know why you insist that preheat equals conduction, but that is simply not true and only creates confusion. It is great to share ideas and information, but please let's make sure the information is correct. I am not suggesting you are lying Diggy. I am saying your view that preheat equals conduction is wrong. You can have any opinion you want about the pros and cons of vaporizers, but not about whether they are conduction or convection.

Yes, I can state my opinions even if you don't agree with them actually @CL52613 The same way you can claim that hot ceramic warming up the bud it's touching is not conduction, but now osmosis, it's not true but you can say it. Cheers.

See, Big Mike had some thoughts like me, but you are just saying that I personally don't have a right to my opinion, but you do.
    I'm done.

Man dude, relax, and if you want to quote me, quote me not what you think I said. I did not mention anything about the operation of this vaporizer, only that your statement, "If it's preheating, it is conduction", is not true and very misleading. It is that statement, made as if an unarguable fact, is not true. I would not argue about your opinion, and your "If it's preheating, it is conduction" statement is not presented as an opinion. Take responsibility for the things you say in your post, and accept the criticism and correction if something you state is wrong. As it is, you still do not acknowledge that your statement "If it's preheating, it is conduction" is wrong, which you seem to think is cool. Sorry, I am an old man, and believe in being accountable for what we say to others, and if say something that is wrong we apologize. And like it or not "If it's preheating, it is conduction" is wrong. If you still do not understand where I am coming from, so be it, I tried repeatedly to explain. So we are done, chucking deuces

@CL52613 and @Diggy Smalls if you guys would like to continue your discussion about the semantics of how a pre-heat is done, please take it to PMs. For better or for worse we throw around technical terms like "conduction" quite often around here and the term is generally accepted to mean things other than it's literal interpretation. The same is true for other terms like "vapor" as well. Even though what we consider "vapor" is technically an aerosol, I don't think anyone wants to go around arguing that point every time the "V" word is used.

In any case, this is all off topic for this thread, so please take the discussion elsewhere.

    Thanks for your cooperation.

Sure are a lot of vapes with many different brands on them that are made by Smiss. Flowermate and Boundless are used by us daily. I'm sure I’ll be getting one of these just because.
