Only DC got more than Florida's 58% out of all the states that have legal MMJ or recreational MJ.

The money came from OUTSIDE of Florida, Nevada to be exact, over 5 million of the 5.5 million total raised by the opposition came from ONE donor. Casino magnate, Sheldon Adelson. 79 other financial supporters only donated 1/2 million to the opposition cause. I am sure big pharma and tobacco , and alcohol all opposed it here, but they sure didn't put their $$ into it.

In 2016 Nevada is going to have legal cannabis on the ballot. The casino magnet Mr Adelson will have to shell out more money. Also Florida will have medical back on their ballot in 2016.

California will have their legal cannabis measure on the ballot in their state. Who knows how many states will be voting for legal or medical come 2016?

Correction of post #126 above:

Only DC got more than Florida's 58% out of all the states that have legal MMJ or recreational MJ./QUOTE]

I would like to correct what I stated there because I was wrong. In 2012, Massachusetts received over 63% support for MMJ, makig them the only state(District of Columbia, not a state), other than Florida(which did not pass) to capture such a high percentage of the Yes vote.

Apologies for the misinformation.(None of you guys from Mass. caught my error either lol)

Key West, Florida Votes To Decriminalize Marijuana
Posted by Johnny Green at 7:45 AM on August 22, 2015Ending Marijuana Prohibition

There is a growing trend in Florida. Local governments are voting to decriminalize marijuana. Florida lawmakers may not be willing to step up and decriminalize marijuana, but that hasn’t stopped local governments in Southeastern Florida from taking matters into their own hands. Key West, Florida is the latest local government to decriminalize marijuana. Per The Joint Blog: The Key West, Florida City Commission has voted unanimously to approve an ordinance that would establish an $100 ticket for the possession of up to 20 grams of cannabis. Similar proposals were approved recently in Miami-Dade, Florida’s largest county, and in Miami Beach.

Thanks @CarolKing!! I love the Keys and although it's touristy as hell, my favorite is Key West because of the undertone of party happy, and don't be too much of an ass in the process.

Anything that moves Florida closer to legalization and tolerance is a mood enhancer for me....You made my morning!
