Usually by the time my FV becomes too hot to handle, I am already sufficiently roasted. :smug:

I can pull vapour from the FV in conduction mode just as thick as the Pax on red. It's just a matter of technique. With the S2 kit, it takes no effort at all. The best part is that unlike the Pax, it doesn't taste like crap.

Everything you've said about your FV makes me think something is abnormal. You should not have had so much trouble avoiding combustion. Your FV should not get so hot that you find it uncomfortable to hold unless you're a lot more sensitive to heat than I am. When I did my battery life test I held the power on for 5 seconds out of every thirty until the battery died. It never got anywhere near 140°F. The highest temperature it reached was about 110°F.

So I just spent three minutes with the 3.2V battery in and holding the button down. The highest it reached was 111°F (44°C), which I can still hold without discomfort. I'm at a loss as to why yours would be so much hotter. I'd be interested to see the results if you duplicated my tests.

I meant when the body got warm, I popped out the battery, and the battery itself was very hot. The body is always holdable, a typical sesh for me is 10s on 20s off. Vapor almost every breath lol

I should have added that I checked the battery temperature at the end, it was also 110°F. Could you try the same measurements? Curious minds need to know.

    FVS2 DELAY STATUS UPDATE
    ==========================

Sorry folks, but there was no clearance release today for the S2 battery and charger shipment, and no delivery to us. It looks like we'll have to wait til tomorrow to see if the clearance will be given at the grace of "the man".

Earlier today, we spoke with the customs broker again who is working with DHL on clearing this shipment for us. After a more lengthy discussion (they were finally spilling some beans as the delay drags on), we now know that Canada customs is requiring a lot more shipment, not just from DHL but from other companies and carriers as well, to submit paper entries (for customs clearance) recently. This is seemingly chosen at random, for anything other than paper documents. But apparently, this internal policy was not sufficiently meet with the number of staff they have on hand to handle the sudden increase in the amount of paperwork as a result. Therefore they are now severely backlogged. Our broker is currently receiving processed returns back from processed paper entries from early last week. Our S2 battery shipment belongs to this time group, but the clearances processed and returned from customs are not in any kind of time sequenced order. So by the looks of things it will be difficult to tell exactly when they will be caught up to ours. Needless to say, at FV we will be giving more time in the future to allow for such things, having learned from this situation, and having a better understanding of how unpredictable the customs bureaucracy can be. The standard clearance turnaround time is supposed to be max 48 hours.

We are hopeful that we will get clearance tomorrow, as our paper entry was made last week.
Once again, sorry about this unfortunate matter, and we hope to have everything worked out and sent out asap after we receive the shipment. Thanks again for your continued patience while we deal with this!

I'm sure you're right, it felt surprisingly hot but maybe 140F is worse (blisters & stuff)

I forgot the thermometer but I had a sesh with two batteries and was able to get really nice abv, like pax on orange. But I know I used to be able to get the same with one battery :\ maybe the FV is just too much for the little guys...

I am considering swapping out my MFLB for the FlashVAPE. I usually don't use the MFLB with anyone else but myself, for fear that with its learning curve, it will not be the best experience for them.

The S2 kit is making it even more tempting. Alas, I'd need to find a decent home/buyer for my MFLB though. I don't want to own too many vapes at one time, as it's costly (better spent on meds.)

I haven't had a chance to go back and read any MFLB versus FV posts (if there are any), but I am guessing it is quite the contender. It looks like an excellent product!

The FV is an excellent product. While the LB and the FV use the same concept for heating, they really aren't comparable devices. I've used my LB+PA as my desk unit for a long time, and it served me really well, but the FV replaced it for that purpose. I wouldn't think of giving up the LB, however. It remains my primary pocket portable. Also, I'm a firm believer in the principle of having a solid backup, so I always recommend owning at least two reliable devices.

I have to caution you about mentioning that you are contemplating selling something in a post. We're pretty strict about our rule concerning selling or soliciting in the threads.

    Good to know Paka.

I'll watch this thread and debate more with myself. :D I think if anything, I'll wait until the S2 kits have been coupled with the FV itself.

Unfortunately, still no new development today from customs end... I've asked broker to submit a duplicate entry, in hopes of speeding things up a little. We'll wait to see tomorrow.

Apparently, we are not the only ones in this boat, as there are many others who are also waiting for clearance, from paper submissions made last week. Lets hope that someone at customs picks up the ball and gets things rolling so we can move forward....

Thanks everyone for your continued patience in this matter, and please accept our sincere apologies for the delay in getting your S2 orders shipped in a timely manner!

Received my FV on Tuesday 2/19, ordered on 2/12. That with the holiday on Monday otherwise been even sooner. It had to go from BC down to San Fransisco for customs, then back up to Seattle.…

Thanks to all the info in this thread had it out of box and set-up in short order. First had some C99, then some Lavender. Both tasted great :-)

Are most of you using a grinder? I don't have one, so just did as someone else early in thread and broke into small pieces. Will it go farther if ground-up finer?

Just ordered the S2 Upgrade Kit tonite, it wasn't announced til right after I had placed my original order. Looking forward to trying the FV convection-style.

As you already know, the FV will work without grinding, but it will work better if you grind. If you don't have a grinder, you can always dump the bowl after a hit or two and crumble it with your fingers. A lot of people use the shot glass/scissors method and some even prefer that to grinding. Another technique is to break the bud apart with your fingers and put it in a small bottle (like a pill bottle) along with a nickel or some other coin, then shake it for a while. That works surprisingly well.

    Hi LeTchen,

Sorry your batteries and top glass pieces has still not arrived yet, but it was sent out right after your order was placed, via INTERNATIONAL LIGHT PACKET AIR MAIL. Since you are in France, that is the only viable option for us to send it as sending with tracking will have cost alot more than the total price of the accessories themselves. The delivery standard is typically around 7-14 days for airmail to be delivered, however, maybe there is a delay in processing mail through customs in France as well? Thank you for your patience while the item is being delivered, and please rest assured that they often just take a little while longer to show up, but very rarely actually missing.

I didn't know that... you learn something new from the masters on FC all the time :)

    FVS2 DELAY STATUS UPDATE

I had high hopes for clearance to be processed today... BUT... just received another notification email from DHL. After checking the real-time tracking online:

.... again, all we see is the much dreaded "Clearance delay". It looks like its not going to be today. Why don't customs put some officers on OT to try to resolve this backlog? I know OT is no happening here because I check with my broker 3 times a day, and there is hardly anything received back first thing in the morning.

Anyhow, we want to let everyone know that we will be processing all orders which is for the FV Deluxe Set & S2 kit, to have the FV shipped out first with your FREE SCREENS. We will ship out the S2 separately as soon as this shipment is here.

For those waiting for the S2 kit, please bear with us for now. We want you to know that your anxiousness in waiting for your order to arrive is doubly matched by ours in waiting for the customs release and to put this delay behind us. I do take these issues very seriously, and am filled with regret that we are not able to promptly process your order. Once again, please do accept my apology, and thanks to everyone for their kind understanding and patience!

Yeah, sure is nice to have him run his blood pressure up so we don't have to, isn't it?

Gives a guy confidence it'll get here soon as possible and will work just fine when it does, don't it?

I guess on the bright side, I'll get a chance to try the original configuration (S1?). :science: I hadn't planned on playing much with it as I prefer the taste of convection.

I already got the shipping email. Thanks FV.
