Hello there, I've been using this vape for about a week now, tried about 10-15 different sessions and have not had what I would consider much success. I'm also an owner of an Arizer Solo, so perhaps I'm expecting larger hits or a more powerful vaporizer, I'm not sure but that is my only other vaporizer I'm familiar with to compare..

Tonight I was really contemplating returning the device, and when I went to pack everything up I noticed the black rubber ring around the 2nd screen (the one on the detachable head which holds the glass piece) was dislodged and the screen was off-kilter; when I went to put it back on, the whole thing came loose and I'm having a difficult time getting the screen back on. Could this be causing a problem (IE: could some vapor be escaping maybe due to this..?), or could I have gotten a dud, or are my standards just too high? I see YouTube videos and frankly I've not once been able to get anything resembling visible vapor clouds :-/
I get what I would call medium vapor, I'm sure others can get denser but I go as far as the taste is good, and if you go too far you get denser "vapor" but it tastes like smoke.

Coming from the Pax, I notice I blow out much less visible vapor but get about 80-90% of the effects with half the material. Try heating drawing very slow until you see a medium vapor density then draw a little faster with power on so that the vapor doesn't get too thick, if you draw too fast the vapor will thin out, I wouldn't hold longer than 6-7 seconds total

The screen does come off, they are going to sell replacements, but it will go back on ok, try shaping the screen so it fits nicely and then work the o-ring around with two/many fingers.

You want to return a device that you have used ??! In France, you can return a purchase (within 7 days) if it has not been opened and used .... Fortunately for manufacturers!!
Otherwise, it is too easy to buy something, use it a week and then decide to return for personal reasons ! :disgust:
If you buy a Ferrari without knowing drive it, it is not the fault of the manufacturer ! You can't return it....... you can return it only if the car have problems (warranty), not because you don't know how to drive it !

The o'ring who holds the screen mesh, you can put it easily in place..... this is not a defect, you have to take it apart to clean the top...
But this thing don't affect the vapor production or not, this screen is only here to prevent you don't have herbs in your mouth ;)

Do you change battery for each bowl (try it) ?

Hey Bobjones, welcome to FC! The difference between the Solo and FV that you are noticing, is that the Solo is pretty automatic when it comes to producing vapor. With the FV, there is a certain amount of technique involved, as you have to do more of the thinking for the unit. Manual vs Automatic sort of thing. What have your sessions been like? Can you describe your technique? It is a great device once you learn how to approach it!

The screen shouldn't be causing your issues, but lets get it back in there and see what happens. The trick is to make sure one end of the o-ring is packed in well. Hold that packed down end with the thumb of one hand while stretching and packing down the rest of the o-ring with the other. Should slip right in.

I concur with this. I love my Pax (have two), but I love this thing as well because it will do a very small to a much larger amount and is not constantly cooking the material as the Pax does when on. I was using my Pax almost exclusively when I went out, (Vapman occasionally) but when I can get away with something bigger, I will mostly always use the Flashvape. My consumption went up somewhat with the Pax, but is down again with the Flashvape.

I am wondering why Flashvape doesn't hype the following feature of this device?
When you hit it after releasing the power button, the vapor isn't very hot. I have an instant read Thermapen thermometer that is extremely accurate and the temp inside my mouth is 97.1F.
When I use the Flashvape with the thermometer probe inside the little black extended plastic mouthpiece on the glass tube and produce some good vapor with my mouth sealed around the tube, the vapor temp never went over 93F. This is with no bubbler or anything to cool the vapor and without combustion. The way this thing is designed is perfect with the ports that pull the ambient air in and through the oven and past God's Green Gift and up to swirl and cool the vapor in the sealed mixing chamber before it exits to the tube and your eagerly awaiting lungs and cannabinoid receptor cells in command central.

This might be my favorite run-on sentence of all time!

Thanks for all the tips guys, I'll be giving it another go tonight, and will try to provide more feedback as well, I'm just running off to work now ;) One last question to add to my analysis: Does the vaporized herbs when you dump them get that brownish color like with the Solo? Because my inability to properly work this thing (I guess that's the problem, from the feedback so far..) means when I dump the vaped herbs they're still very much green colored, as opposed to the usual brown remains from my Solo..

Green? That for sure explains the low vapour production. This is evidence that somehow you're doing it wrong. The ABV should be brown, all the way to black if you push it. You need to tell us what techniques you've tried so we can diagnose them and help you find the right one. From the description that we do have, it seems to me that instead of power for 5-6 seconds then hit, you've been pulling while pressing the power button and doing it too hard. Try to master the basic technique described in the instructions first.

Okay, you have to put a battery inside !!!  ....... sorry, just kidding man ;)....... but green seems to be "no energy"...

Agree, it's the only way to understand the problems

Two thumbs up! Way up!! :D
I'm really impressed with this thing! $129.99 shipped!! It has to be the best deal going on such a well designed and built vape. Is this an introductory price? Hope there is a warning before they raise the price if planned. I haven't used any of my other vapes since getting this thing. I'm thinking I may order a second one - just because. Just received a warranty replacement Pax back from Vapeworld that I may just sell. I can get two of these things for the same money. A Magic Flight Box costs the same. Hell, even a Puffit costs $10 more! :o I hadn't even heard of the Flashvape less than 2 weeks ago when I stumbled upon this thread.
I have not even had to clean it yet and doesn't look like it will need it for a few days anyway. I had to clean up the Pax every few days. You put in a charged battery, load it up and it just works.
Still lots of love for the Pax and I wouldn't want to be without it either.

If Flashvape is too large, the Pax is great. I would also recommend a Vapman. It is really stealthy and good for a quick hit and put away. Love it too.

Joe where can you buy a vape use it and if you do not like it return it? I recently purchased a palm 2.0 and want to return it but i didn't realize the company i purchased from does not accept returns if the box is open. This same company also took 7 days before the unit even shipped....

I could be wrong, but you'd be hard pressed to find a company that take returns, especially when it involves vapes. They would just lose too much money like that, not to mention a bunch of legal issues.

Imo, the onus should be on the consumer to do their research pre-purchase. Obviously this isn't a 100% foolproof method, but you could always resell for a small loss.

Yeah i know i was in the fault when i purchased the P2, but i was just reading these forums (doing some research) and i noticed that Joe said he was going to return his unit, thus i asked this question as i am deciding on either the Solo or FlashVape. I think i am leaning more toward the solo atm.

arrr,
They need to find a U.S. distributor. I'm still waiting for mine - no tracking, from Canada, and at the mercy of TWO government-run postal services ... you get the idea. A little shaky.

I've had mine for a month now and just gave it a good cleaning yesterday.
The top screen, that's in the cap, was getting pretty gummed up.
I do brush everything clean after every use but the top screen gets a little sticky.
I removed it along with the bottom screen and soaked them in iso for quite a few hours.
It took a little brushing on that top one to get it completely clean.
I soaked the unit, upside down just up to the air holes, in a jelly jar with some iso.
I really didn't need to soak the bowl but it did come out quite white!
Now that top screen o-ring gave me a little hassle getting back in, but i finally got it after a few minutes. I think it just needs to be a size or two larger in diameter, I'm going to look into that.
I can't see any reason to have to stretch and fight with it so much to fit it into it's groove.
The stem is an easy clean with a q-tip and some iso of course.
Hope all keep enjoying their FV's!

I don't think a larger o'ring would be better.... I think the o'ring furnished by FV is the best (I know mechanical, it's why I say that), but you can try...
if the seal not stretch, it will be not good but I don't know how to explain it in english... believe me this o'ring is good ;)

Yet another tip.....
From a person that has spasticity (worse on one side than the other)
Right or left handed folks.........
If using your "non regularly" used hand to give the FV it's shake.....
keep a finger on the seam where that top snaps in place...

Sometimes with our "odd" hand we exhibit more strength than expected., and less muscular control than desired.... and that combination could propel your top off the unit.
Not a common scenario, but it did happen to me once.
I now only shake with my right hand!

Wow I'm astounded! Mine is hard to take off even when you want to..

I like the holding-the-top trick too mainly because mine makes a rattling sound if you don't hold it
