If you are a VC lover you have surely tried more than a lighter and maybe you also have bought/built an Induction Heater. For me, after some weeks of use and comparison between my torches and the IH, the choice have been simple and I've nearly abandoned one method for the other. What about you? Do you have a precise preference and if yes, why? Or maybe you have other fancy methods to do the thing?

    Salutations,

This poll doesn't include "Bi-Energy" options, which is a pity because both fire and IH power can complement each other IMO.

    Good day, have fun!! :peace:

    Salutations Ander,

    Actually it's only logical.

Using IH design it's possible to include water right into the inlet path, prior to the heater stage... The specific heat capacity of dry air alone is nearly unity, steam @ 100 degrees Celcius doubles that. Hence it's reasonable to assume that Hot Dry Air mixed with super-hot H2O will result in a "Release/Transport Agent" with boosted heat capacity: it's "potentialized", which actually opens the door to alternative consumption methods and rituals based on "Micro-Bursting", thanks to "Packetizing" (another original story...) - all terms had to be invented because it's still some pioneer's niche, essentially.

    :science:

Personally i have no difficulty to imagine pre-heating my pipe with an IH driver, then finish it using my torch to provide a tiny bit of "Self-Moisturization". In any case, no doubt both modes would offer appreciable nuances.

    Good day, have fun!! :peace:

i would say solar radiation with a lens :p - that also has the least co2 emission :brow: and helps preserving the stash at night and at bad weather
And how about hand powered friction heater :D?

    Alcohol lamp :p.

The flame temperature distribution at different heights of the alcohol burner. The abscissa denotes the vertical height relative to the flame nozzle and the ordinate denotes the corresponding temperature of the symmetrical core of the flame.

    Salutations everybody,

As far as i'm concerned "Plan-B" (where "B" stands for butane) has been proven quite a long while ago and that ain't even like fresh news as i actually invited duplication followed by peer reviews in a few other places previously, including here (*):

    [IMG] [IMG]

That was a few years ago, my next illustration is showing today's final setup - which started to emerge after i began effectively implementing Fig. 11/12 of VaporGenie's patent (US7434584 B2), except i sandwiched the core metal disc:

    [ s14.postimg.cc/uq1j06v4x/Egzoset_s_Cust._Bronze_Sherlock_VG_Pipe_-_Labelled_2018-_Mar-11.png ]
In other words i extended VG's concept to include Induction Heat while using their pipe as my "Prototyping Platform" succesfully tweaking "Plan-B".

"Plan-A" remains at your disposal if you feel up to a pioneer's challenge!...

    :science:

It's been evaluated long long ago.

    Good day, have fun!! :peace:

and to use the sun the lens/mirror surface counts most (and where u live ;) ) - doable with a VC but not too convenient ;)

PS IH at home, and a variety of torches when out and about. Most recently I got two slim Aomai torches that I really like. They use flint to spark and are quieter than any piezo butane torches I've tried so far.

    Hi again,

Actually i'm a fan of SpaceBalls but i also happened to forget mechanical solutions and hence this makes my LAVA concept "Tri-Energy" compatible i guess...

It's unfortunate the poll still doesn't included such options but i'm not remotely surprized: just look at the dates...

    Good day, have fun!!

I'm sorry for your "disappointment"... and I can not change the head contents anymore by now but please understand that this poll is not exactly a technical one, and it's quite clear the fun was one of the main intentions. For this reason, I really have to thank you for your contribute.

I have a small dragon called Bjœrn for heating the Vapcap. Do mystical animals that only exist in my imagination count too?

@Ed's TnT woodscents is also a great way to heat your vapcap :tup:Although you don't need the actual cap. Beautiful work of art that can be used as a oil diffuser by day and rip through a couple caps by night.

I do have a psmini and I prefer to use that over a torch but a torch does it's job VERY well. I know it's hard during the day to see the flame though and people think the worst.

    Ah vapcap
