A big HELLO! to my fellow FC members! I'm very pleased to announce that I am now able to bring you exotic wood blanks to delight and satisfy your very discriminating tastes for heirloom quality custom log vapes and wooden vapor stems. I will offer for your consideration nothing but the very best in quality exotic woods. Your extra special selection of exotic wood will be perfect for creating Ed's TnT wood stems, Epicvape's E-Nano, Heat Island's HI, and the famous Underdog, among others.

For moral and environmentally responsible reasons, great care has been taken to ensure that all
of my exotic wood blanks are in compliance with all the CITES regs and FSC protocols, and are sustainably harvested. I always try to ensure that the wood I offer is from old growth, dead, or fallen trees. My specialty is in rare, highly-figured exotics from the Pacific and Southeast Asia, as well as many other responsibly harvested regions. Close-up pictures will always be provided of the actual blanks. As is standard in the industry for showcase purposes, they will be wet just a bit on the surface in order to show you the dazzling grains, figures, burls, and vibrant tones so that you can visualize what your finished creation will look like. Most of my blanks are seasoned (dry for at least 1-5 years), and slightly sanded and sealed for preservation until turned. The pictures are taken in natural sunlight. No special post-processing of colors or lighting are added. What you see is what you get! I believe a picture is worth a thousand words.

My exotic stem blanks for Ed's TnT wood stems will range from approximately $12.00 - $25.00. Log vape blanks will range from approximately $25.00 - $60.00+. If I drop-ship directly for you to Ed's TnT or Epicvape, for example, it can save you from paying for the shipping from me to you first. It can save you time as well! Shipping & Handling from me to you would cost between $3.95 - $6.95. The blanks that I find for you are the most beautiful and highest quality found anywhere. I buy in quantities so that you save money and only buy what you need. I negotiate for the best price that I can in order to make it more easily affordable for my fellow FC members. Please let me know if you have any comments, suggestions, or questions concerning best choice of wood for your purpose/s, costs, vape dealer policies, etc., and I'll do my best to answer you knowledgeably and with dispatch. PM me:).

For your viewing pleasure, please enjoy some samples below ...And stay tuned for regular updates by adding my thread to your FC Notification alerts! I wish you all the best, and give thanks for your interest!

I want to heartily thank everyone for the huge warm welcome and well-wishes! The great number of enthusiastic positive posts and PM's are deeply appreciated! I believe I have answered all PM inquiries quickly and to everyone's satisfaction. If I've missed anyone, please forgive and resend. In the next few days I will post a lot of new information that I think you all will find both interesting and useful. Wood species vary greatly in density and suitability for our particular purposes. For example, many beautiful wood species are better suited for stem use only, and not Wongs, due to wood density and tendency to absorb and hold moisture quicker and longer than other species. The same holds true for log vape suitability, as some woods hold and radiate heat more appropriately for our desired use, and resist cracking better than others over the long term. When you are in the process of choosing the correct wood for either your log or stem, I will be more than happy to assist you in making the best choice possible. If I am unsure about how to advise you given your specific inquiry or desire, I will seek out the best, most knowledgeable source for the correct answer. Tricks & Tips will be an ongoing feature of my thread, as well as an open door policy for Q & A. Please don't hesitate to post or PM. Even though I'm working two full-time jobs, I will always have time for you, and will respond as fast as is humanly possible. Of course, patience is virtue, but I'll strive to never over tax you in that regard! Please be sure to put this thread on your Preference Alerts to stay up-to-date and to the minute. I expect things around here to continue to develop at a rapid pace. Best Wishes & Silver-lined Clouds to you all!

I am not even going to choose one until I am ready to jump. I can't pick just one that I like. I think that they are all beautiful and would look awsome in my hand! I do like multi colored burls but don't like light colors like maple. Other than that....Yes please!

I should have mentioned earlier that not all of the business essentials of my launch are yet in place. Admittedly I didn't expect so much positive reception in so short of a time. Must do my very best to keep up.

To answer your question as best I can, orders to myself and Epicvape are made and handled separately. Prior to our transaction, it would be best for you to contact Epicvape with details of your chosen wood for the custom Nano. Andy may only accept the order if the blank is kiln dried (what I have now is not). If it is, I would guess that you will then discuss price and guaranty. Once settled, I could send your blank directly to Epicvape to save you shipping cost and time. I could enclose a copy of your Nano order in my package to them for identification. It's you and Epic from there. Other log vape companies may very well have different policies concerning the requirement for kiln dried, guaranty, cost, etc. So in short, when preparing for an E-Nano or other log vape, check it out with Epicvape, or any of the other vendors first. I'm sure order and payment arrangements can be made even without a drop down clicker on the Web page. I hope this helps and doesn't fall short of answering fully. Let me know and we can continue through PM. There is definitely some learning to be had by all of us on this new path, and we will share in it. Best Wishes & Silver-lined Clouds to all!

Thank you all for all the wonderful comments, interest, and sales!

I would like to address some points of interest that have come up several times in the last week or so, particularly on the E-Nano thread and from member PM's: as I understand it, Epicvape requires that any wood blank provided by the client needs to be kiln dried, and should be of a dimension no less than 3.75" x 2.25" x2.25". I do not know if Andy is providing a kiln dry service as an accommodation to help facilitate custom orders for the E-Nano. I do know that Alan of Heat Island HI, and Dave of Underdog fame DO NOT require that client-provided wood blanks need to be kiln dried. If they find on inspection of the wood blank upon arrival that it needs additional drying, they will assure that it is done prior to turning your custom log vape. Importantly, I have been given to understand on good authority that wood cracking is more of a concern due to log vape technology and design, and NOT necessarily due to a pre-condition of the wood. Please know that all wood blanks that I currently have in stock are thoroughly air-dried for a minimum of 1-5 years, and that Dave, Ed, and Alan have confidently advised me that these should be more-than-ready for immediate use. Interestingly, wood species that are heavily burled, such as Amboyna burl, are particularly sensitive to kiln drying due to tiny internal air pockets and such that can expand and crack from within while heating. Air dried burls like the blanks that I have are the best bet for our purposes. Dave, from Underdog advises that to work with an individual piece of wood that may still contain too much moisture, he first turns them down to a rough vape shape and bores out a hole down the middle, then lets them carefully dry that way for a few weeks until perfect. In most cases, moist wood blanks can be perfectly dried this way without cracking, but occasionally, albeit rarely, you can get a piece that's just too sensitive and will crack.

Now, with all that said, as always, I am currently seeking new lines of reputable exotic wood suppliers who can provide for us kiln-dried, perfectly cut and sized blanks for the Nano, HI, Underdog logs, and Ed's TnT stems. My findings thus far have been very positive and I'm looking forward to showcasing the new shipments as they come in. Again, keep in mind that all the blanks that I'm offering right now are absolutely perfect for the HI, Underdog, and Ed's wood stems. Orders are being filled as we speak! Importantly also, keep in mind that when ordering, the HI requires a comfortable minimum size of 1-3/4" sq. x 4-1/4", and the Underdog should be no less than 2" x 2" x 4.5".

I will always be just a key stroke away for your questions, comments, orders, and concerns. Please don't hesitate for a second - I'm more than happy to assist in any way I can!

Until we meet again ...Best Wishes & Silver-lined Clouds to all!

Question for you. Have you ever considered a microwave in place of a kiln dryer for these blocks?

I just spoke with my good friend who is an old-school wood turner (sells his bowls in art galleries). He too let's his bowls usually air dry for years before turning them, and another few years after the rough turn before finishing the piece (time depends on the wood of course and it's moisture content).

Given the small size of these blocks, he suggested a microwave to dry them. Apparently there are a few turners who swear it works (here's one article on the subject - http://mgorrow.tripod.com/microwave.html )

Would love to have one of these made into a Nano!

@Ratchett - YES!!! Thanks so much for bringing that up! I have considered using both a microwave AND a toaster oven. My research into both uses looks promising and very doable! This will also help me to bring you all some better pricing, a wider range of choices, and faster turn-around times for all involved. But first, I must dig deeper into my research AND consult with some experts who will guide me every step of the way to assure that you get the best possible product on the planet. Considering the unexpected yet most welcome deluge of interest this new venture has brought, I am determined to make this work wonderfully and affordably for us all! I am grateful for all your valuable input, to include the royally unselfish & generous support and knowledge I've received from Alan, Andy, Ed, & Dave. We are just beginning, and our learning experience will be shared to yield great enjoyable benefits! Cheers! Snappo

Heh, I'm glad you agree. I'll be watching this thread to see your progress on the matter. I am certainly interested in purchasing some exotic blocks in the future.

I also suspect my friend will be interested in these log seeing as he's a wood turner with several very expensive lathes (I call him a wood geek). And given my background in ceramic heating elements (also used when I build my 3D printers), I might consider trying to build my own log vapes using your wood stocks @Snappo
