Yea grokit that wouldn't make me very happy either. Not sure why your getting that. Never been an issue like that with mine but then that does you no good. I recently bent my coil down and it has made the load more even. Three pulls and stir with mine gets good results. Hope you get it figured out.

Thanks guys.

I've repeatedly angled my coil down and cleaned my sensor, it's still the same. It acts like its not going to combust, gives me a bit of vapor at the end of the first draw, then I stir it and boom! combustion. I recognize that I may be part of the problem, as a dose for me is basically the entire bowl packed loosely. I just can't get that in one hit, which would still be okay if I could avoid combustion when trying to finish it with a second draw. All in all I'm sick of combusting (literally) and I don't want to deal with it any more.

On what temp? Can you post a picture of your coil position? To me it really sounds like an inconsistent draw with a coil to far from the sensor. This is how Joe positioned my coil. I literally went through an ounce...wasted really learning how to use this thing. I would just do a bowl in my Alfa for effect and just load bowl after bowl of various strains ground differently and start on different temps. I combusted a lot along the way, but I learned how to choke myself with lung busting flavorful vapor too. Flower had just really become a toy anyway....damn dabs

Well I found out that using a 12mm grommet from my spare parts works well to remove the screen ring

My new body came with this coil on it, and it wasn't angled at all when it arrived. As you can see I have now angled it as low as it can go, without shorting my esv out (which gives me a blinking error message). From a glance at their return policy (edit: and a reply), I don't think vapornation will take it back, so I have asked for joe again for the replacement bowl section. I think that this unit may work out well for somebody else, but it's literally making me sick and broke at the same time and I want to cut my losses at this point.

That's harsh to hear man, it does suck when you invest a lot into something you might use day to day. Best thing is try to stay chill and work things out with joe. I'm sure he'll get back to you on that but in the mean time try your best to use with that you have.

I'd send it to Joe if I were you. I'd also pick up some coils....that one looks very unhappy. Joe will get it working so you can either enjoy it or pass it on to s good home.

I was really hoping for a tuned model that actually offers a decent vaping experience, but it looks like I will just be getting the replacement top. At that point I will consider it a factory refurbished vape.

Are you saying that my coil is ruined from trying to get it to work right? If so I will toss it and put the original (unused) coil back on, which I saved. It won't be in adjustment, but that's how it came.

I'm not mad at anyone, I bought it on sale and it didn't work out for me, that's all.

Good attitude. And good luck I think in a funny way.

Given mismatches are going to happen, I think it's fortunate it happens to you in a way where you can cover your loss, probably completely. That is I bet you can sell it as 'fresh back from service' for more than you paid for it, and still the buyer can get a nice discount over new? Warranty should transfer fine I'd think, otherwise worst case is you'd have to 'front' for it should it need it?

Sorry it came to so much disappointment, but I think there's a pony in there somewhere?

So when i get mine should i just bend the coil? It seems that's the only way to get a more even roast, And i do have plenty of coil's to play with. I didn't bother with extra screens because it looks like the bottle cap is the way to go, So most likely all my screen repairs will be with non oem.

When you get one, use it as is after charging. Don't mess with the coil Unless you have to. Start at factory temps. Stir every two or three hits. Use a tiny amount to start.

seems to me, the lower the coil, the cleaner the lense has to be...

I just want to update with a big thanks for all of your support. I can tell that there is a good amount of passion for this vape, and I can definitely both see its amazing potential and feel its high quality. It wasn't a good fit for my personal needs, but I had to try it just to make sure I guess. I'm sure joe/ipuff will continue its excellent customer service, I'm just waiting on a tracking number for the replacement bowl assembly.

I tried the bottle cap method from VapeDr...I don't know how it act but, yes, I get a more evenly vaped abv and better taste with less stirring, thanks for the tip!

I will certainly be giving the bottle cap screen a try. I just hope it work's well with the stir lid.

The bottle cap done properly will not impact the stir lid. If it does, it is not molded right!

Look's like i need to order some screens soon, It seem's i have been going through them quicker with 2 more vapes that require the user to install screen's, and of course one more on the way:nod:

Well if you do the bottle cap screen then u will have to put a hole in it in order to use the stir lid so in effect it will alter the bottle cap screen. Not sure if those are intended to use together but who's to say it cant be done. It would require either putting a hole or try screwing the stir cap thru the screen.

True that you have to make a hole to use the bottle cap, but you have to do so with any screen. It does not impact the ability of the cap to work. You can and should use them together, IMHO, but, again I stress, no modifications are necessary to get this thing to work well! They just make it easier!

Yeah @Vape Dr. who came up with the bottle cap screen method, suggested poking a hole for the stir lid if desired.

I tried it and my issue was more finding right way to use stir lid. I find with a screen, even bottle cap screen, it clogs really quick bc only outer ring is uncovered. And without a screen, stir lid diameter is a little small (at least my early beta one is), so bits then get clogged in the lid grooves (course enough grind helps, but theres always some little pieces you know, and ESV works best with some fineness to grind).

I think using with a screen, you need a stirrer that doesn't cover so much of said screen, or you need a stirrer wide enough to make no screen necessary (or better yet, one with a bunch of little holes that can just be poked clear in between bowls)

as far as i can remember @Vape Dr. Is using 2 screens in the lid and two or three screens where the heating coil is... is this because of trying to keep the sensor clean Or to eavenly distribute the heated air trough the bowl by restricting draw... or both...?

and combustion occurs because of airpath, -distribution (Hot air traveling from coil to bowl/herb) ....?
