I forgot how enjoyable the Nano is around level 6.0-6.2, if you have like medium to dry material, I think this temp is where the Nano really shines. The flavor is incredible and vapor is thick and rich without being too hot, perfect to start your day with, no burnout feeling, plus if you trying to for stealth there's very little smell with these lower temps.

One of the things I enjoy about the Nano is its ability to adapt to different load sizes and temperature settings. It runs .03g to .08g with an easy to predict level of performance using just a little screen adjustment with little need to adjust the heater control. Of course that control option is always there if individual preferences dictate such and its always good to have options.

Thanks for the suggestions! I'm also wondering if a mouth-pull technique is possible with the dry stem? As in, sucking the vapor into your mouth like smoking a cigarette, to give it a chance to cool a bit, then inhaling?

@dgmulf yes your draw would be similar to drawing from a cigarette then hold your vapor in for 5 seconds or so. A slow steady draw is best with the nano. If the draw is too tight, you may have put too much cannabis in your stem. That will cause a restricted feel to the draw. This unit needs a light pack because you need to have enough airflow - don't pack your load too tight.

Try different amounts of product and different temps. Probably stay under temp 7. Some have combusted at too high of a temp.

This unit is a wonderful piece to have in your vaporizing arsenal. A second on a j hook. A nice j hook will work with several other vaporizers as long as you have GonGs to fit your other units

I'm going to add: if you are a cannabis smoker, you need to stop the combusting or you will not feel the whole high from your vapor. There's threads that dedicate themselves to explaining that in particular. A very good read.

Stop combustion and keep on vaporizing - your health will be better for it.:2c::leaf:

So true about the lower temp vaping with nano. I like to do the same - especially mid day when I'm working at home or have other shit to do.

Keep in mind with this and other suggested temp settings that there are differences in what one nano will do compared to another at same temp, in addition to whatever personal preferences.

For instance, my low temp heady light buzz setting is about 5.75 this time of year (now colder, about 5.5 in warmer months). This stays the same on this particular nano, but is different on one of my others. What I'm saying is that although my settings may be different than yours or anyone else's (or on any other nano), but should stay constant for you or me or any specific nano.

One other tip.... Sorry if I just mentioned it in this thread recently. Save the ABV from these lighter sessions to mix with heavier sessions later in the day or soon after (day or two, airtight). I mix about 1/3 of this to fresh when I move up the dial a notch later (sometimes 1/2 & 1/2 if stash is dwindling). OR, keep this ABV separate from the rest for higher intensity edibles or whatever you make with your ABV.

Yeah I pretty always reuse the abv from low temp sessions, I usually mix it in with a bowl of fresh stuff and toss into my CF or Air to finish. I also notice the buzz even on level 6.0 is stronger than the majority of vapes at those temps, which is why i pretty only use the Nano if i'm going for a lighter buzz, seems like a waste of material with other vaporizers that mostly specialize with high temps to work consistently.

Hear ya. But, nano is my high temp vape, too. Really have trouble going back to conduction (except VapCap which is a whole different beast), and nano just does it all so well!

Hey folks. Just dropping in to report that my e-nano is still going strong, and it sees a lot of use. It's nearly perfect, including how it looks on our coffee table in our living room... The subtle LED light is a nice touch. I was worried it would be one of those glaring bright blue LEDs that all the chinese gadgets use but it is a dim purple-blue light that respects our sensitivities in the late hours. I love it how it dims or brightens as you turn the heat dial.

Here are some suggestions on improvements I'd like to see fo the next generation:

-The e-nano gets quite hot and can be uncomfortable to hold unless you hold it around the bottom end. I run it at around 5.6 as I use almost exclusively herb. I have the cherry wood version. A thicker log maybe could fix this and also make the e-nano more stable when putting down on a table without the base ... Otherwise, cooling fins around the inside of the steel jacket ?

-A deeper version of the fixed glass screen would be good. I know from using the adjustable screen stem that the e-nano can easily deal with twice the amount that the current fixed screen stem holds. The glass screen is way preferable for me otherwise, as it is much easier to keep free of blockage.

-Some upgrades to the cable would be great:
-braided flexible cord (with the same generous length) to prevent twisting and for a better look and feel
-a dial with stiff, notched clicky action or a way to lock the dial at your desired setting. As it is, it is easily turned accidentally when moving the e-nano around, occasionally resulting in horrible combustion. :ugh:

Finally, a 220v version of the cable would make all of us in other parts of the globe happy. The e-nano is small enough to take to a friend's house for a session and having to carry the 220v transformer is a put-off.

Yes please! Darn I wish I had waited, got one recently shipped over to UK and it's a little shallow for me. Otherwise, the glass screen is the way to go.

Cleaning the fixed glass screen stem: I use a length of stiff, thick steel wire which has had one end twisted into a hook using pliers. I use this tool with a small ball of steel wool and some alcohol to scrape clean the inside of the stem. Any blockages of the screen can be easily cleared with a pin or other pointy thing.

That's actually not an LED, it's a neon bulb. I don't want to come off as too pedantic, but that's exactly the type of small detail that Andy considered when designing the E-Nano.

I for one hate bright glaring LED lights in my house but deal with them grudgingly. The soft, gentle glow of my nano's neon bulb is not disturbing in the least, in fact it's comforting as I know my nano is patiently waiting to be put to use.

Not sure exactly what you mean by that, but I'm curious. Do you have a link to one of the threads you're talking about?

@dgmulf I copied this from a fellow FCer pertaining to fucking combustion. You need to stop the smoking of cannabis to feel the full medicine from your product. I tried to copy the link and couldn't get my iPad to do it. I didn't feel like typing up a whole explanation. This explains it pretty well.

Try high temps to get you off of combustion.

There's a thread in the cannabis discussion area that's says stopping or fucking combustion in fact there are two different threads. It pops up often on FC.

    • It's called Trying to switch to vaping. It's like on the 7th or 8th page.

All great ideas, but something to keep in mind..... the nano has been about the same price for more than 3 years. Would you have bought one before what you know now if the price was 50% higher (floating around $300 instead of $200)? Or, even more?

I like the fact that Andy has a solid product at a great price point, issues you mention or not. Might be nice if he offered some of these things as options for someone that wants to pay a premium, but that would still add to production woes (and other issues) and probably a bump in price on the standard models.

The one thing I do agree with you about is fixed screen stems (at least going on what I've seen here lately). That should be an easy fix. But, truth be told I have a few of the older ones and almost never use them. Adjustable SS screens FTW!

Got this little Black Leaf guy from grasscity.com, pairs nicely with the Black Leaf j-hook and the enano.
I run it dry, cools nicely, and it's fun to milk it.

    Fit and Finish?

just bought a base-spec maple e-nano. the bottom plate is rotated by like 15 degrees, it's not vertically flush with the maple exterior (by maybe 0.5mm), the securing phillips head screws have CLEARLY been rounded off slightly (and there's only two, out of six pads), presumably from over-torquing.

the vape performs well enough, i just thought that if i were paying $200 for a vape it would be finished better than this. i understand that it's not a volcano, but if you're going to forego all the bells and whistles at least put it together at a higher quality level.

    Grasscity.com is the website.

Black Leaf double spiral pre-cooler and the black leaf J-hook.

I like the black leaf j-hook better than one I had gotten from dhgate, a thicker diameter.

You can buy the BlackLeaf J Hook also through Planetvape. It's $19.99. They are an FC sponsor.

I have some Platinum Girl Scout Cookies in my nano right now.

    Edit
Just tried out my whip with the JoDa glass GonG, for the mouthpiece is an Ed's blood wood piece. I have an Ed's GonG that I use with my Solo. Thought I'd try it with the Enano. I had to just put the end of the whip inside of the GonG instead of the outside. It wouldn't fit on the outside. This is a whip that went with the Herbalizer. It worked pretty well.

The end didn't seem to get too hot on the whip since it was on the inside of the GonG,
