E-livi8 portable

Theres not much out there about this vape, so I though I would share me thoughts !

I got one of these over Christmas to replace my old Pinnacle Pro, I have to say it has more flavor than the pinnacle, and the vape seems cooler, and much smoother. The heat up time is FAST, and it seems to smell less, the pinnacle would stink the room out on warm up, not to stealthy !

Heres the youtube I found on it. Its worth a look IMO.

@jpinkman I could be wrong but i believe this vape to be the same as the flowermate V5.0 for the most part so you may find some tips and mods over in the flowermate V5 thread.

Thanks man will check it out :)

Hey man, I have to say it looks similar to the FM but after some more research,,, the RedEye has lower starting temps, and a sealed air path, which probably explains the bigger flavor hit than the Pinnacle Pro, I just got one for a friend of mine from eBay their first vape, any one else tried one of these?

I am in US and would like to try one but the site only is open to wholesalers at the moment. It seems too expensive to have one shipped from Europe. Does anyone have any connections with these folks to find out how we can test them? Maybe they would like to have some actual users review?

This unit has some appealing innovations besides the sealed air path (my number one concern): glass mouthpiece so you can see the vapor production and have cooler temp once it gets to your mouth, preloadable cartridges (as well as being able to use directly in the oven), and -- the super clever one -- a carb function via opening the door at the bottom to mix in fresh air!

Hey man, I would love to but I've never actually used a flower mate, the spec is quite a bit better on this one, I have used a Pinnacle Pro and a Vapor Genie, this is smoother and hits harder than both, the flavor is the best ive tried, the lowest temp taste is quite something, it heats up QUICK compared to the Pinnacle, its worth a look for sure, if you want to know anything just ask man, I will try and help :) Peace

Could you do a little review and compare it to the Flowermate V5s please?

Thanks man! I was just wondering how does the vapor taste and if the mouthpiece gets clogged frequently? I'm guessing this is the same as the flowermate in regards to battery so does the battery last long and how long does it take it to charge? Would you say its efficient and how would you rate this vape as a whole?

Modnote: This post was removed as it was not in line with the manufacturer rules. http://fuckcombustion.com/rules/manufacturers/

You can’t mention another company’s product unless it’s an informational post in response to a member question or incorrect statement, like “our design uses …, while the xyz design uses…”. Even there, you’d be better be absolutely certain that your statement about the other company’s design is 100% factual, and that your statement doesn’t imply in any way that your design is better.

So we basically stripped it down, took it apart and made what we think are some great modifications turning it from a Flowermate into an E-livi8.

You mean you made Smiss produce a custom OEM version for you right? You wouldn't infringe on their intellectual property, wouldn't you? :p

Apart from that it seems you took all the suggestions from the original FM5 thread, including @Egzoset proposed fix, and implemented them. Not bad, but I wonder how the improved temperature settings will fare when they release the FM5-Pro next month...

Also while your FM5 air path drawing is not entirely false, it doesn't really portray the reality where the air input follows the path of least resistance and is drawn *for the major part* from the exterior directly via the external shell holes, right under the bowl bottom.

I can't deny it could be better as indeed the air path is not fully isolated in the original, and this is apparently what you did here.

Last question: did you manage (assuming it's really a OEM contract) to make them source a different kind of polyimide insulation tape to put around the bowl? Because this was (and still is) a big problem with both the FM5 and FM8... this bloody tape reeks so much when it's new (well I've been told it might not be the tape itself but rather the glue on it) it needs an outrageous amount of empty burn-ins to dissipate to acceptable levels.

I told them several times to fix the problem, they said they would but AFAIK it's still present.

That being said some people having less sensitive nostrils reported having zero problem with that and using the device right out of the box. For my part I know it was problematic for the 5 different devices I got from them...

Anyways I wish you good luck with your product, welcome, and it's good to have you on board! We can be a bit rude with manufacturers at times but in the end I'm sure your presence here will pay off!

The e-livi8 comes with a pretty good kit of tools, there is a fine brush which is perfect for cleaning the mouth piece gauze, clean it while its warm its easy.

I get 10-15 mins on a charge, depending on what heat setting you use, but you can use its while charging, mine takes about 2 hours to charge from dead.

Its the best vape ive used, 10/10 Hope this helps man, Peace:D

I guess my question is that what is so impressive on the flowermate to where so many copy it.Unless im wrong I think this is the second rebrand ive seen.

@HD Springer : I don't think it's a copy but rather a custom OEM job. Smiss told me they learnt at their expense in the past that they should be serious about patent protection, being a large company I doubt they would let that happen again.

What's so impressive in the FM5? Well it's a nice and simple budget portable that just works, and it has an excellent battery life (two 2600 mAh cells) It's easy to maintain too. All my non-vaporizing friends just like it because it's very easy and effortless (read no special technic to learn) to get good hits. Being rather on the high side temperature-wise it tends to produce good cloudage that appeals to joint smokers.

It's clearly not the best portable around, but amongst the cheap ones it's a good contender.
