    Friends,

After browsing here in the Glass sub-forum and seeing all the great glass you guys have posted about buying at DHGATE, I wandered over there and made the awesome mistake of creating an account.

Glass Acquisition Syndrome flares up... dabs between browsing don't help the situation much. About 2 hours later, after 8 water pipe purchases, I finally came to my senses and gave it a rest. Bought one more shortly after, for good measure. :o

Aaaack! What a glorious place that site is... I just hope I get something for my money! :D

Anyone here have any DHGATE experiences, good or bad, to share?

Photos of some of today's DHGATE purchases:

Huge +1 for CCG - consistent super fast shipping. <2weeks and they were just coming off a holiday. 2 weeks order prior to that.

Will be placing another with them soon. Great selection of non-labelled glass.

Wow! That CCG stuff is NICE!
I have 2 of their sandblasted pipes in my cart for (hopefully not too far...) future purchase! :)

Damn... DHGATE is both amazing and dangerous! :o

Yes, CCG definitely has some high quality stuff. The shipping really is bounds ahead of other vendors in my experiences.

I have their tiny, basic recycler and the function is really quite good. Shreds and has a nice drain! I have one of the seed of life tubes on the way, hopefully tomorrow or Friday it'll land! And I plan to buy one of their fab eggs sooner or later.

I see some of your scoops today! Nice shit dude! Plenty of FP experimenting in your future :D

I am sure you are already educated but please test that glass for lead before using it though! Don't want to see a good chicken get injured or worse!

Got my CCG SOL piece super fast, they processed and shipped even during their Holiday. Perc isn't 100% straight but overall piece is quality, and for the price you can't beat it.

Any of you fine folks seen this one on dhgate?

    https://www.dhgate.com/product/2015...recinfo=8,103,1#cppd-1-5|null:103:r2071182504

I was considering it for fun, but seriously, it looks like if you just used the bottom half with the mouth piece you'd have a daily driver with the top part usable when necessary.

@ataxian dude, you may be cheap but at least you wont be sorry when a $$$ piece breaks! I have thought to save up for a nice piece but I have not proven myself to be careful enough to insure it won't get damaged.

I've had both good and terrible experiences from DHGATE. Lot of good stores but one to avoid is Kathy0578, Seller sent me a damaged badly packaged glass product said they were sending a replacement and never did. I tried for 5 months to get a refund or replacement but DHGATE themselves were completely useless and unhelpful.

Suffice to say I no longer do business with them and their loss is American and European glass's gain. Buying cheap glass can be a false economy anyway, half of the Chinese glass items I've had from there have cracked from tiny faults months later.

That thing looks awesome too. I asked about the 18mm stuff cause I picked up a vapor tamer from 7th floor years ago and want to use that. It usually just languishes on my freezer.

Nice! If I didn't already have a rig on the way I'd have bought it as well (found it after my purchase), and I may still depending on your review.

I think it's funny they call that pipe "Red" - because of the keck clips. That pipe is blacker than the heart of a Purdue Pharma (Oxycontin) corporate executive! :D

I love your tag line about KIEF and GRINDER'S!

So LAME a 4 piece grinder?
I use a 2 piece because I want the KIEF in my load?

Kief is $5.00/gram why have a 4 piece grinder?
I have my eye on the 3 piece from SANTA CRUZ.
CHINA makes a 4 piece out of LOW GRADE METAL?

This morning I bought a WATER RIG and yesterday more ROSIN and COLA'S.

GLASS from CHINA might be crooked but function's the same?

    Ataxian,

I really like the Santa Cruz Shredders in 3-piece, but only in the "Large" (70mm) size. The smaller SCS have the same depth bottom section, but smaller in diameter, so it becomes cramped and crowded for the fingers. Why, I ask, couldn't they have just "scaled down" their design dimensions, instead of trying to squeeze it like a toothpaste tube keeping the length the same? I don't know. Uncivilized! :D

SCS is great for a large 3-Piece grinder, mechanically and ergonomically, but I find the grind consistency to be so-so and a bit coarse. This is especially true when the grinder gets dirty (which is quite often! :o).

My current favorite 3-Piece is a tossup between 2 grinders... I love the large SLX without the internal screen part, but the lower chamber doesn't hold much and the corners are too tight for pinch-grabbing. Other than those issues, it's almost perfect. Still sticks and gets dirty, despite the marketing, but it does generally stay a lot cleaner than the others.

The other of my two current faves is probably the one I use the most...

    ***Drumroll Please***

A chinese cheap-O $17.50 aluminum "DCOU" grinder with 3-sided 3-D pyramid shaped metal teeth (like they use on Acrylic grinders) and more adequate capacity compared to the SLX. It has nice rounded pinch-scooping corners on the bottom section, making herb retrieval easy! This is a 4-Piece, but I just unscrew and ditch the center (screened) section, screwing the rest together to make one of the best 3-Piece grinders on the market!

You can see that grinder here, I bought the orange version:

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07121YN2F/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I do not yet own a NewVape grinder... I keep hoping that some day they will release a fine grind 3-Piece, with "Cali Crusher Homegrown" type 1-twist locking instead of threads (yeah... I know... in my dreams! :D)

    Good luck! :)

P.S. I would normally post this in the Grinders thread... but I've 86'ed myself from that thread due to some disagreement drama which I'd prefer to not have in my (or anyone else's) life! ;)

    @Chicken #420

Have you looked at the Kannastor Vape GR8TR?
It is a 3 piece fine grinder, as per your requirements!

    https://www.kannastor.com/products/gr8tr.html

I owned one until i broke the plastic ring and they do not have replacements...
Now i use the NewVape Fine Grinder and it is slightly better at handling slightly moister herb.
The Kannastor always battled a bit but got it done in the end...
If your bud is mostly drier then the Kannastor is awesome for a 3 piece fine grinder!

What @lazylathe said! Just posted about mine in the herb grinders thread, thinking about getting a second I love it so much.

@lazylathe man you gotta hammer Kannastor! That's complete BS that your ring breaks and you're out of luck? Don't they offer a LIFETIME warranty?? I'd be raising hell, until they send it to you! Go on reddit, spread the word. I kinda don't even wanna support them now lol OR, dude check with Toronto Hemp Co and see if the retailer will help you out? What about a 3rd party ring? Did the dude that makes the SW2 send you a similar one?

Man, this thread is becoming a mashup of the Cheap China Glass thread (where this probably should have went) and the herb grinders thread! Sorry for adding to the derail! lol

    EDIT:

@Chicken #420 Just recalled your Herb Grinders thread experience! I had your back man... that got pretty ugly. I'm interested in that orange cheapie you posted. @lazylathe just bought the similar designed Boomer's Grinder and it was a fail. But it was a 2 piece.

What's the consistency like with that thing? I noticed you love SCS and SLX grinders but IMO they are WAY too coarse consistency for my liking. The finest consistencies i've seen have been both plates with the kannastor. I've never found anything as fine as the coarse plate even, unless we're talking a tiny small 4 piece.
