    Video time awesome.

Friendly suggestion, get a cool avatar of pretty much anything unique besides like a pot leaf. It'll make looking through the thread for your replys much easier in the future.

I guess everyone else found the site, if not this seems to be their main site davincivaporizer.com it seems like it's sort of seperate from the Karma company, maybe it's purely an information page?

Hey guys, sorry for the video delay, I had some technical difficulties...

Yes, we own davinicvaporizer.com. It's a development blog that is still mildly under construction, which is why I haven't referenced it so far :)

How can we get the thread title changed? A moderator?
I'd hate to loser the information in this thread by starting a new one.

I think you may have to email vtac? vtac@vaporist.com
That is the mod that all manufacturers have to contact first before posting according to the rules.

so i have to ask, is this a convection or conduction vaporizer?

I'd like to know this and the charge time from empty. An hour of runtime isn't really that bad. Certainly not "a couple dugout hits then dead" like some people are assuming/agreeing with.

Got the name of the thread changed :)

    Convection vaporizer
the matter sits on a fine mesh screen at the bottom of the chamber, with the heating coil just under it.

The first time charge is generally about 8 hours, though we're looking to have the factory do this before shipment (not 100% definite on that yet, but something we're striving for). Subsequent charge time is about 3 hours from empty to full.

What I do with our 2 proto models is just keep them charging when not in use/in between uses. There will be variables based upon how long the unit is powered on, how much it's used, etc. That's why we have a master on/off switch and a secondary on/off switch that starts the heat up process: we don't want it to accidentally get switched on in a pocket or backpack and have the battery drain.

Thanks DV, so if you leave a bowl for a few seconds it won't cache your load through conduction (like the Solo) whatsoever? Convection ONLY?

    Vape4life, correct

We're still doing a lot of stress testing (dropping the unit from different heights, introducing water into the chamber, etc.) but we haven't seen any problems with conduction.

Convection, about 99%, here's why, the materials sit on a tiny mesh screen above the heating element and the screen will heat up a little bit, but not enough to cache the load. I wouldn't want to misrepresent and say 100% convection due to that.

So is this a battery operated Iolite shaped Launch Box sort of thing?
    Looking forward to the video.

The Pre-order doesn't offer a color choice, but the DaVinci web page shows it in three colors. Is it possible to pre-order a certain color?

You are asking about pre-orders and colors, when we haven't even seen the thing yet lol.

I'm confused a load is .1g and a battery does 2 loads and takes 40 mins to vape two loads. I can vape .2g in my solo in less than 5 min and still have battery left over for another 6-8 sessions...

I hope the video will clarify this

The solo is a conduction vaporizer and this is a convection vaporizer. That is why the battery life is so different. SSV, TV, Log Vapes and DaVinci Portable are convection vapes.

Another convection portable says their battery life is 20 minutes but only lasts around 5 minutes in use.

I say if you vape 2 loads of 0.1 the battery life will last 10 minutes of use or 20 hits with the batteries they include.

We won't know for sure until some people buy it and let us know but that is a good estimate.

At the risk of a derail, how is the Solo classified as conduction?

It's mostly a convection vape, but does have some conduction.

I apologize the Arizer Solo is more conduction based and the others are more convection based. A little or both is happening in each. Since the Solo is more conduction base the battery lasts longer.

Edit. It can really go both ways but that is how I think of it when people say why isn't the battery life of one portable like the Solo.

The main vaporization seems to take place as heated air is drawn through them, which is convection. Some are just more truer convection hence the shorter battery life.

I don't have a Solo, but it seems to be a convection vape with some ambient conduction as the glass gets hot. I'll bet that if you turned on a packed Solo and let it sit there on with no inhaling, you would get no vapor trickling out. No one is making conduction vapes any more. The MFLB is the closest thing to a conduction vape I have seen, and it is mostly convection.
