water temp. try warmer water. It makes a difference with regards to taste and payload/reclaim.

You beat me to it. I was going to say I get better results if the water is warmer. In general though I just prefer to vaporizer flowers though the pieces rather then oil.

i've been using room temp water after reading all of your post on using cold water. are you saying i should use warm water instead of room temp water?

edit: i just tried a warm water dab it was better.

Here's my proposition. We know that room temp is better than cold. Does it seem reasonable that lukewarm might be better than room temp? Do a little experimenting. try lukewarm, see if you don't get more flavor, and less reclaim. If you like that, try warm water and see if like that better, or not as much.
I have had field testers report that what I propose is valid. More so, I have had field testers report that they like certain strains better at certain temp water, and other strains at other temps. I'm not making any claim that this is true, but it is a simple matter for you to do some experimenting in the comfort of your laboratory. In the name of science, I urge you to push the envelope. See what works for you.

fwiw, there is insufficient data to publish, but the preliminary assessment of the 65mm disc was that it is the smoothest thing I have ever used. Much more research is needed, water temp included.
NVS posted a vid on fb last night. first part is kind of slow but when it gets stacking it's all hell broke loose.

I'm looking at 5-600 retail. The bigger disc offers a bigger canvas. My staff who's making discs has a bfa, she likes the expressive aspects, and I think she's come up with some more interesting color combo's than I have. There will be some cool things in the 65 series. I promise.

Will there be a can style 65m?
BTW, I'm loving the "looser" frit in my tube. It has no restriction at all which is perfect for my new cloud. My mini seems to pair with my solo better due to the restriction(minimal, but definitely there). I like the two different spectrums they both have, but if I was to have one made for me, I'd ask for a looser frit. It may stack a little less, but the diffusion doesn't seam to be hampered.

One last question, will the little fritter discs from the convertible hold up to my wet saw? I have a couple other places I want to use them, but need to size them down a little.

I don't recommend that. If I see other glassblowers using them in unauthorized manner, I will have to raise the price of that part to discourage the practice, and everybody loses.

Can u define what is assumed as unauthorized ? Does it that you hold some kind of rights using fritted filtration in Water Pipes and Bubblers or it is just fritted Discs? How a glassblower can get your authorization ?

I believe my patent application is sufficiently broad to cover all use of fritted discs in smoking/vaporizing accessories. It is a utility patent, not a worthless design patent. It covers function, not just style.
When I have every friendly lathe in Portland making the product, I will consider licensing the patent outside home base for royalties.
There will be a 65mm can.

I understand and respect you don't want fritters to outsourced blowers, and that was not my plan. I just want to shave them down to be used as a dry filter for another vape, I don't really see any infringment in that.?.?
One more thing, I have a lhs that is going to make me a 24mm(F)-19mm(F) 20degree angle... Is there anything special I/they should know about the 24mm ground joint? Will a 24(F) schott joint be fine? TIA

you should be ok, but depending on the disc, something might chunk out. The Healthstone folks seem like nice people btw, just a rec. 24/25 is an unusual size, 24/40 is quite common. 24/40 will fit but won't look right. On the bright side, it won't matter if the outer 24 joint gets warped because the inner is 24/25 and doesn't reach that far. The first convertible happened that way. It looked goofy, but it did the job. Seems like you're in about the same place. You do what you have to to make it work for you.

PTO assigns that upon review. Phx honeycomb was patent pending for a couple years before they issued the utility patent on that. I filed last year.

Ok just made it through this whole thread (2/3 way through persei, I'm spent)

Cloud will be my next purchase, although I'm not thrilled to have to buy the hydratube (since these fritters seem a lot better)

Would it be possible to use the 24/19mm adapter, with the fritted disk in it, as a slide/bowl? This could make it the first all glass Cloud (no stainless steel flower cage). Maybe up the temp a little since the flowers would be a little further from the heat source. Seems like you'd have to clean it a lot more, though, but a sacrifice that would be worth it imo.

Can someone with the convertible and a cloud try this, please? :D

[Also shoutout to weedemon who mentioned this idea to me about a month ago]:
    http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/yet-another-all-glass-path-question.6400/page-2#post-243040

Maybe later on down the line DG can make a taller version of the 24/19 adapter with 2 fritted discs, but now I'm getting greedy.

This would be a huge hit if it could be pulled off realistically, even with a price jump. With the dish and the mouthpiece, plus the best diffusion around, it would fly off the shelves even faster than it is now (and I'd be all over it too). That is assuming Mr Rooster even wants more business with the oodles of hype already swirling around this piece.

@Dabblesauce - Just heat up your 99% iso and it'll get any dedicated oil rig clean, fast, no salt needed.

Me, me!!! On the cloud waiting list and getting a fritter mainly for cloud usage. MarcellusWiley's idea of the side mouthpiece might work for this. As well as an extra wide base and/or a base that is longer on the stem side, to compensate for the weight of the cloud.

This was just awesome, thanks Mr. Loblaw (as well as the dual persei vid)

I would be very interested in one that would be desgined with the Cloud in mind. This "frit perc" looks to do an amazing job.

i've done alot of thinking guys, i think the DG is not for me prolly be selling it soon. i really wanted to do a nice review on it, but mine is slightly defective so i don't want to do a full review based on it. this will also be my last time ordering any kind of high end glass online too.

thanks for playing... I am teetering towards letting go of my mini can myself. It works great, nothing wrong with it, just not getting a whole lot of use. It's a tough call, so I am still in the thinking stage. :hmm:

The 18" tube gets regular action still.

After leaving this comment ^ I decided to pair the mini can up with the Cloud, to give it some real use time. I've been so focused on the HT for the last few days. I have to say the mini handles the Cloud pretty well for the size. I am pulling full thick vapor with very little drag once it gets churning. So maybe I spoke to soon... I keep my water level just over the top of the fritt, 2-3mm over gives me plenty of diffusion, and less drag.

To tell you guys the truth I quit using both of my DG pieces the mini can and the 18inch tube. Since I got my Mobius I just prefer it allot more. It has been over a week since I have used either of the DG pieces. There is allot less drag and not as much suction required to pull through the Mobius piece. I think the DG was affecting my TMJ from the increased suction. My jaw was starting to lock up and had been sore ever since I started using the DG. When I stopped the jaw started to loosen up. A week later it is starting to pop now, which is a good sign. It means maybe in another few weeks I will be back to a more normal level of TMJ symptoms.

Has anyone one else with TMJ has issues with their DG pieces?

Ive got a question about vapes. Im looking at the solo vs the cloud. If I'm going to be using them about 50/50 in the bong/by itself which one do you think is the better purchase?

Also if one of you guys were going to get rid of your cans let me know what website your posting the sale on or send me a message about prices. :)

The Solo and Cloud are very different designs- apples and oranges all the way. Although you can 'one hand vape' both of 'em, the Cloud w/Hydratube is like hitting a bong. Unlike the Solo and pretty much everything else in the way of direct draw vapes, you can hit it as hard as you like and still get great vapor and huge hits. The Solo is a portable, and although it hits great for a portable, the draw is restricted compared to home whip vapes and especially the Cloud. The Cloud is also 2 to 3 times as expensive as the Solo (depending on where you buy).

For further info on vapes, please hit the vape threads-off topic here.

Do you have TMD, or just issues with the joint? If its literally locking and how bad the sypmtoms are... that sounds like the disorder. Plus, I think only the locking happens with the disorder (though, I could be wrong)?

That blows, if so. I have a friend, suffers from it. It causes some horrid migraines for her to.
