Well I gave the PD a shot. Just like I figured they were gone before my page said they were for sale.:o Not going to wait for a chance to get one. I want to get my first vape!!!!

The only reason I mentioned that (well I'm bummed of course ) was because my main reason for getting a vape was for conserving my weed. I went to my local head shops and they carry, well shit. And the volcano. Being impatient I made one at home. I have to say I may never "smoke" again. The flavor is great, the high is F'N AMAZING. The one I made is manual, I supply heat with lighter or candle. My budget is tight right now so I may opt for a vapor genie if the DBV is not what I'm looking for.

Enough babble. I had looked at the DBV and I like the temp control, look and price as well. From the pictures I have seen the whip end seems to have a rather large area (width of opening), for loading your bud into. Do smaller amounts work? It just seems as if you need to cover the screen well enough to have the hot air draw over it. Wouldn't smaller amounts just fall down on the glass edge of the bowl, not allowing air to move over it?

sorry that's a lot of crap for a couple of questions:lol: Be gentle it's my first time. :uhoh: I've have only seen some of the different whips at the local stores.

Smaller amounts work and work well, operationally their is no difference between a large bowl and a small one.

I recently introduced the DBV to my yard guy, he couldnt finish the bowl and was amazed.

I would say as little as 0.1g can COVER the screen and effectively vape, just estimating.

I was personally using around 0.2g and it was hitting very hard over and over.

Smokey, the smallest amount which I can get a nice, thick vape out of is about enough to just cover the whole screen. Less...not so good, because (like you suspect), you have to have at least enough in there to have it stick out of the tighter screen section.

DB is a nice step up from the old Vapor Brothers, in design, ease of use and effectiveness, imo, if that gives you any more reference.

Just bought a black DBV from TokinGLX last night, can't wait for it to get here!
Where is a good place to buy accessories for it at a good price? I want to get a cool temp. control, perhaps some other things too.

how tight should the ground glass on my DBV be? my wand slides pretty effortlesly in and out, and often starts sliding out with only the slightest tug. my last vape GG had a lot more friction and was a LOT safer to pass the wand back and forth

Just enough to slightly grip it. I recommend putting a mouse pad in front of it if it sliding out to help protect it from breaking. Its common to lean back or slightly pull the wand, especially early on when a new tube is least flexible.

In my experience it was a short lived issue but a common one showing it to a new person.

thats what i've heard the only problem is it is so touchy, like the absolute slightest pull will pull it out

When you fully inserted the wand into the GG joint, apply SLIGHT rotational torque to the connection. Again, the slightest rotational torque is all you should need or want to keep the GG joint connected.

Sorry guys lost track of this thread. The better half (non user) convinced me to wait for what I really wanted. I smoke by myself mostly. I was at my comp at the right time and got a PD this week.

I still want to get a DB, for when friends are over, but funds are tight right now.
Clingwrap did you get yours yet? How do you like it? Do you have other vapes or is this your first.

Hey guys. I'm looking to purchase one of these, but I'm wondering if I would be better off purchasing from the DBV website or from Tokin's website. I'm most concerned with who will ship it out to my door faster, etc.

Thanks

When I another whip or something, I will be going thru Tokins site. He was the one who convinced me to get into vapor so I am biased though but I have seen more than handful of posts regarding shipping issues from 7th floor and no issues from Tolkin.

Definitely issues with 7th floor. Like them saying they never got your order but somehow charged you for the order. Great product bad customer service. I'll be going through tokin from now on.

i got one for 100usd off ebay haha

and Question Is it better to leave the unit on at vaping temp,, or turn it off and on for every hit.. in interest of the buddha ofcourse :)

MrMistyTokes,

max

Out to lunch
turn it off and on for every hit
Off and on for every session maybe, but every hit? That would make neither you nor the vape happy. 7th Floor has been running an SSV non stop for 7-8 years now, so I don't think leaving it on for a few hours is going to be a problem. You're more likely to wear out the dimmer switch by turning it on and off so much.

unfortunately i must agree with you....i stopped my businness with them after two (2) missed bulk orders....to me 7th floor wholesalers customer's service is totally useless.....seems that they change the staff weekly so anybody is in charge of your order, when i call them they just apologize and try to tell me the old story...i never buy again from them....by the way their products are good enough to try your lucky hit if you are buying just one for you!
