Anyone else here with Crohn's? Just started, but I'm eager to see if it helps at all. On a side note, is my doctor going to be able to notice whether or not I'm vaping? Still got an unknown amount of time until my state's medical program is up and running, so I'd rather not have anyone know.

Ulcerative Colitis here. Vaping helps reduce symptoms and gut spasms for me. I like that it also eases the joint aches I get during flare ups as well as frequency of bowel movements. Tincture of cannabis also really helps. Good meds are great also for the ability to fight off the anxiety/depression that seems to occur with chronic diseases.

I'm sorry that you have Crohns, IBD can suck. At least we were blessed with an awesome medicine like cannabis to help us get by.

Yeah, every little bit helps. BTW, you ever try making tincture with ABV instead?

I have not used ABV instead of grade A buds as there are more actives in 'unspent' medicine. However, I have heard that there can be some decent effects from ABV.

If you click on the link in my sig below I made a blog post about making tinctures :) I hope this can assist you in your journey to wellness Trogdor.

Is there anyone still on here who uses mmj to deal with Crohn's disease.

Iv had Crohn's for nearly 20 years now. One resection. Bucket loads of medication and years spent in pain.

Currently quitting tobacco joints in favour of dabs and vapes.

Just loooking for support/advice from fellow crohnies.

    Cheers all

I was diagnosed with Crohn's. All I use is marijuana. Doctors say I'm in good condition due to my marijuana use.

Well flowers mostly. .2g a session. Although flowers aren't legal in my state. Only oil, tinctures and pills. The oil is good. But expensive. Tincture doesn't really work but about 10mg THC tincture lasts a little bit for me. You need to experiment with your self. I'm on the high end spectrum because I vape a lot so I'm probably not the best judge.

I've had Crohns for 22 years. I have used cannabis on and off for 35 years. When I was first diagnosed I had just started a family and got all responsible and only used cannabis occasionally, perhaps every couple of months or so. When diagnosed I was very ill and spent 2 months in hospital. The doctors did a great job and got me better without surgery and I then went on to live a pretty normal life and only suffered occasional flare ups although I had diarrheoa almost every day sometimes about 6 or 7 times a day. Despite this I considered myself lucky and was able to lead a healthy active life with not too much difficulty.

About 4 years ago I became interested in using cannabis medically and started experimenting. I now use approximately 0.15g per day, most days. I grow my own tiny supply and I almost always vape. My bowels now behave almost normally. I only occasionally get diarrheoa. Every 5 years I get a colonoscopy where the doctor has a good look inside and I get to see it all on a widescreen tv. I had the last one about a month ago and the doctor was amazed to find only scarring visible, the inflammation and ulceration having almost completely disappeared. He asked me repeatedly what my symptoms were and seemed surprised to hear that they had almost gone completely. He asked me what I was taking and I told him "beneficial traditional herbs" because I live in an illegal country.

I don't know if the cannabis is helping my Crohns or not but my gut feeling, excuse the pun, is that it is helping me. I think that there needs to be much more research done in this area, people deserve to know the truth. In the meantime I will continue using cannabis as I feel that the benefits outweigh the risk.

Great post and I'm so very, very glad that MMJ has helped you. I have a friend, Jewish lady which I mention only because Crohns is fairly prevalent in that group, who had it so bad it just shut down her life.

If anybody thinks the resulting type of lose bowels is a joke, try wearing adult diapers all day and live in fear of a personal accident.

My friend ended up asking for a colostomy, she was so miserable. If MMJ is effective on Crohn's to any reasonable degree, this is critically important to suffers of this disease and only makes me more angry at our puritan approach to MJ in our society and the unreasonable position on MJ taken by our Federal government.

Keep using your .15 g/day and I hope you continue to enjoy symptom free life!:tup::rockon:

I wish I could use .15g a day. I hover between 1.5 and 2. With .2 a session usually. I'm in chronic pain all day. But no visible issues with my colon so far. Doctor says think it is due to my marijuana use. :-).
