It seems for me, the Solo II would be the wiser choice...

Now, I would really have to think about getting it or lending the Crafty...I don't want to destroy the friends battery...even tho I'm going to charge it after every use...

Considering you vape through water often I wanted to mention 2 things.

1. Planetvape.ca has a very competitive deal on the Solo 2 that includes both 14mm and 18 mm gongs.
