Corning Pyrex Lab Glass Appreciation

I want to start his thread because I'm a huge Corning fan and I've always loved the original borosilicate Pyrex glassware. It's a shame that the brand name was sold and the material changed to soda lime as this has tarnished the Pyrex name. The only reason real Pyrex is made today is the scientific community will not accept soda lime for their labware. This makes me smile as it is a victory against poor manufacture and a stand being made for quality glass. I think it's important that at least some glass branded Pyrex is still Borosilicate.

I recently purchased my first real Pyrex piece which is on its way here. I'm excited to hook it up to my water pipe which is also in the mail.

I'd love to see some pictures and comments on the Pyrex pieces you own or have owned. Show them off and talk about your experiences.

Bonus Video on the largest piece of Pyrex ever created.

What is your pyrex piece if you hooking it up to your waterpipe? Wouldnt the pyrex piece be the waterpipe? I guess it could be the bowl kr ash catcher? I remember back in the day alot of the higher end color changing type glass was pyrex?

I just got this claisen off of Amazon.

When I'm talking about Pyrex I'm talking about the brand. There are many makers of borosilicate glass but Pyrex is a Corning specific product, (or it was at one point). I do realize that they sell tube stock but that's not exactly what I was going for with this thread. Please feel free to share Pyrex tube stock pieces made by artists though.

UK Pyrex remains borosilicate...

Europe is lucky that it still gets real Pyrex for their cookware. The US stuff has so many complaints of exploding glassware that I'm not sure why they haven't changed the material back to borosilicate.

They even had to put a disclaimer on the glass because they knew it was far more fragile and people would seek legal action. It's a really sad story of a strong brand being diluted.
