@FocusV, I presume that the batteries are flat tops & not button tops? And can either 18350 700mah or 850mah be used? What kind of longevity do the batteries have, like how often do you recharge? I'm assuming no pass-thru when charging?

You can use regular 700 or 850 but I would imagine it will slow down the heat process. The ones I had used originally where 900mah but now I am using 1200mah in the latest test model. You can use it while charging although idk I think that's frowned upon? Personally I always use my Vapes while they are charging I just wait till it has a decent charge first before getting started!

@FocusV, I went to the top 3 US FC recommended battery suppliers & they didn't show any mahs over 850 so I didn't not that 900 or 1200 existed. Anyplace you recommend purchasing from? Thanks!

Theres no regulations on what battery wraps say so buying from verified sites is a must to avoid getting fakes, I reccomend lion wholesale or illumn. This also means manufacturers can write whatever they want on the batteries. Heres a link to the best 18350s tested: https://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/b...afety-grades-and-pulse-performance-data.7566/

I have seen the keep power brand before. and it is rated decently on amazon. The Aspire Flat Top would also be a good option

So, like a box mod, we would need to know the CDR for the Carta in order to pic a battery? If so, what is it?

Don't buy from Amazon.

I haven't been available for the IG feeds, so I haven't seen much actual usage, but this really has my attention.

I'm not sure how much I'd dab on the go, I'm still learning, so this is being compared to some desktops like the Ditanium. I'm just looking for good, consistent dabs without having to learn a whole new world. Right now, my Evo is the only thing I really have.

Any videos coming out, maybe with some of the alternate glass? I'm considering the pre-order....

Im trying to get some time to put together a video now. On the streams iv probably done near 50 dabs now haha with all the glass too but for some reason Instagram wont save my full stream videos! but someone did send me a message with them saved! :) so i will probably take those and try to assemble something for everyone!

I am able to do youtube streams now but I have 2 cartas only at the moment and they are both out with friends getting field tested haha. I just confirmed I should have the pre-order shipment of Cartas by Feb 2nd or the 4th then we will ship them right out from there!

I appreciate everyone jumping on the pre-order! we have sold a decent amount of them already! Its good to see most people opting for the American Glass Upgrade as well! I am stoked to be working with Helix on this and want to support them however I can.

If I manage to pry my Cartas away from my testing team for a bit I will try to jump on youtube as well for a quick stream today or tomorrow if possible.

Hey regarding the latest video you put on the IG page showing off the app control got me curious.

I was wondering how do you test the accuracy of the given temperature range of the device, I was just curious on how accurate it is to the selected temp through the app on the bucket the user chose to use.

We use a heat probe to test the inner chamber.

I've test the temps up to 940f. The only major thing ive noticed is there is about a 4 second delay between when the unit gets to temp vs when the bucket actually reaches that temp (but the difference is only about 25f nothing major.

The App receives the same info the temp probe connected to the PCB does so it's pretty accurate. The size of our heater and bucket match up well for the heat dispersion.

I have a device we made to test the bucket temps. I may have shown it off on IG not sure. But it's a dab tool on one end and the other is the probe (that actually works haha)

Yep right at the beginning... holy fuck did you ever get high!

This device has really caught my eye! Thing legit MILKS and RIPS! Haven't seen hits like that out of the Peak, and the glass..... oh my heaven it's porn..

Oh man this looks sweeeeet. Your concept? Love it. Congrats!

Stopped using my CFX and moved to dabs awhile ago ... settled on a Saionara+mod and Peak (musta got a good one, no probs with it over a year) ... but this thing ... deals with all the weak points of the Peak > adjustable temps, diff cups (using a 3rd party quartz & SiC cups in Peak now), USA glass, replaceable batteries, etc. etc.

Que: does the price of Helix glass go up from $50 after pre-order/initial on sale? Or you would just get that and not both pieces?

Hi thanks! And yes to answer your question about the helix glass. The price will likely go up to 100 for the American made stuff. (Not really up to me more on helix). The glass right now cost me more then 50 haha but I wanted to keep it affordable for everyone on the pre-sale! Now we will still have all the alternates available made from our factory and those will be 50 or under (still designed by helix just produced overseas for cost)

We also are working with helix and a hydrodip company out here in Austin to generate a chain of customization so users can customize there carta on the Carta website(still being built)

Updates: we are finalizing the Bluetooth app features. I posted a little snippet of it on my story on IG.

Ok, I created an IG account to see everything, and didn't see anything recently posted. It's the focusvproducts account correct?

Looking this over, and please correct me if I'm wrong, but I really don't see any consumables with this unit except maybe batteries and preferred accessories (cups, glass, etc.)? Is it safe to assume that your heating element won't need replacing like a typical atty? Or is there a life cycle with certain parts that we'll be replacing every so many hours?

The more I'm reading the more I"m liking this one. Any chance there's descriptions or videos of the glass in action? Just wondering if all the pieces are standard rig percs or if some were set up for more filtration?

@FocusV I like the Helix and the bent piece because they appear as if they would be the least likely to have splashback, something I absolutely detest. Is splashback ever an issue if one is to use the proper amount of water for the perk?

Good day everyone,

Sticks what’s good, so this looks like a nice unit I can’t wait to receive it, and compare it to the troubled Peek.

I wonder how the atomizer will hold up looks to be a metal plate which is most likely better then ceramic since it won’t crack, which has been my experience with the Peek, finicky touchy atomizer
Ordered the total package both glass pieces s well never get them for $50 again that a given.
2 weeks and counting.
Just wondering about the atomizer Will the beta units come with a extra one in case it burns out? Or have you guys made a ever lasting atomizer ? If not willi be able to get extra ones as a beta buyer?

Glad you ordered, it looks like a great unit! But FYI, The heater is ceramic, just like the Peak. Except he has done a better job at protecting the ceramic coil by putting it in a metal shroud. So expect atomizers to need replacing eventually, but to last a few months with daily use, just like Peak ones that don't get damaged by not understanding it's limitations.

With the Peak the exposed ceramic is susceptible to thermal shock, meaning if you overflow a dab or heat alcohol in the insert to clean it, you will probably break the Peak atomizer. Also, the ceramic heater sticks to the bottom of the insert, then people are trying to remove the insert, and end up breaking the fragile ceramic heater in the process by pulling a wire out of the bottom of it. That's why they suggest soaking the atty in iso first before dismantling. I broke my first Peak atomizer in a week, but now they last me months of daily use now that I know how to NOT break them. lol.
The Carta looks like it addresses a lot of the weaknesses of the Peak atty, BUT it's still ceramic and I would take care of it like you would a Peak atty, keep it clean and it will probably last several months. That metal shroud should help a lot with thermal shock breakage from overflow. We shall see!

Hey 420
Thanks for chiming in I assumed it was SS but a ceramic cover is a good idea.
My atty for my peek broke tightening it onto my peek, I actually heard it click and until that point I used it for about 2 months.
I wish I could rebuild my Peek atty it’s fully intact except the ceramic is cracked down the middle.
It looks very cheap thing wire s shape through the ceramic not much resistance I assume.
If anyone knows a way to rebuild let me know.
The Carta seems to be a well thought out piece I hope the unit comes with a extra atty just in case of a burn out.
Cheers, medicalmark

Just search "puffco peak fuck combustion" on google I don't want to link another thread in this one as this is off topic enough but people in that thread have had success at rebuilding peak atomizers using divine tribe donuts.
