I purchased some cooking oil from my caregiver recently, and this is the first time I've ever had oil on hand and hacen't used it instantly to cook with, etc. So, I put it in the fridge, IIRC this is the correct thing to do? Now, about a week later, I pull it out, and it's separated...I don't know exactly how to describe it, other than, the oil has chunks of white-ish stuff floating in it that weren't there before.

So, I was going to make some ice cream with it...would you guys use it?

i'm pretty sure that's just the oil solidifying because it is at temps lower than room temp.. i would say its fine to use.. warming it up should make it normal again.

looks like a high fatty oil, the white stuff reminds me of coconut oil solidifying.

I forgot about this thread...I ended up letting the oil set out and warm up a bit, and it mixed back to normal...ate it with no issues :)
