i was looking if I were to decArb my weed to make something out of it edibles etc I can’t use an oven it will make my house smell awful. If I used a toaster oven would that still work? Since to my understanding you can’t use magic butter 2 to decarb it. Was going to try and make a match up of a few different things. Edibles, topical lotion, maybe a tincture or oils as well.

If I can use a toaster oven exactly how would that work? Since there’s so many options like what kind of burn do you want or what ever lighter or darker etc I’m assuming for toast. Along with the tempature and for how long.

Mookie0608,
If you can afford to buy something Nova is a sponsor here, albeit, I don't know how well, if at all, it works.

Or.... http://www.sousweed.com/blog/decarb

Toaster oven probably isn't going to work because they work on a heated coil. I don't think you can get the heat as low a 240F and it's going to try to broil it. LOL

Also, Google "decarb cannabis with no smell" and you'll see a few other options.

But sent they scammers? At least according dk some research I don’t online people say the cs won’t respond to you and many people seem to have issues with them after only a few uses. For $300 I would expect something more on the high end scale.

Ohh and I can’t cook in the House period so that’s out of the question. That’s my dilemma.

Sprung for Breville oven with this purpose in mind. Works okay, but temperature is inaccurate and fluctuates. Need to use an oven thermometer with a probe to find a setting that keeps it below 250F.

Now do you want to stay below 250? Just say when I vape to get more terpenes and the more of a narcotic effect or analgesic effect I love 420. Is there a reason why I would not be able to decarb at these higher temps to get more of the terpenes and cannibinoids? Maybe hard to believe but the pain relief at 390 is good along with getting the linelool I believe it’s called at 388, but at 420 that pain relief and body effect goes from good to amplified into a powerful pain relief and powerful body high along with a stronger sedation and dreamy feeling. I still will vape occasionally on 420 just for the boost.

You need to keep it below 250F to keep it from vaporizing. If you toast flower in an oven at 420F, you'll produce ABV and probably coat the inside of the oven with reclaim. Missing something?

Also, assumed you wanted to use a portable oven in a location where odor isn't a concern. Even at 250F, your room will fill with the unmistakable aroma of terpenes toasting. Kind of sad to waste the terpenes, let alone the vapor.

Ohh okay I gotcha I figured it was same concept or a similar one since when I vape I’m vaping that high and the avb is what I was going to use first.

the purpose of the decarb is to convert the THC acid molecules into THC delta9 molecules, which is the bioactive form, while THC acid is not. the terps are vaporized at a fairly low temperature, so they are wasted during the decarb.

the NOVA is doing about 110C (maybe 105C?, there is a chart but i don't have it in front of me) for 60 minutes with a 15 minute warm-up and 15 minute cool-down. lab testing shows 100% conversion of acid to delta9. but the terpenes will be lost.

Hippie Dickie,
I am going to try the Sous vide method tomorrow for the first time. I really never heard about it until I was searching for you. LOL Now, it sounds like something I absolutely must try.

It sounds totally odorless but I'll let you know tomorrow. I am going to make some quick coconut oil from some ABV.

The sous vide method works well in my experience.

If one wants another solution that offers evens little more flexibility then look into an instant pot ultra. It allows for sous vide cooking minus the circulation though that can be obtained as well. It is important to realize though that only a few models of instant pot offer sous vide functionality.

Both the Anova and the Instant pot will be able to produce more accurate temperatures and a more reliable decarb than the toaster oven, and they will contain the smell much better.
