    To all the rosin heads @psychonaut @dabpress.com @invertedisdead @tepictoton @friedpiper,

I am looking at three different rosin presses (all-in-one)...want a small footprint and am not a DIY guy.

    1) https://www.dabpress.com/products/rosin-press-dp80

    2) https://www.amazon.com/MyPress-Solv...56547&sr=8-2-spons&keywords=rosin+press&psc=1

    3) https://nugsmasher.com/proddetail.php?prod=NugSmasher_Mini

The reason I am asking now is because of possible 4/20 sales. Thanks for all your help and expertise in the dabpress thread, but did not want to ask it in that specific thread (off-topic).

I'd probably go with the Nugsmasher Mini from that list. Dabpress caged 3x5 or 3x7 if you want to squish bigger amounts. With a set of caged plates there is basically zero DIY. Just add a 10-12 ton shop press ($130 at Harbor Freight) and set the cage on. Nothing is even bolted on. As easy as packing a bowl.

How much do you intend to press? I have 3x5 caged plates on a HF twenty ton, buts it's more $. I think it was around $700 total. But I press over a lb per year. My last pressing session was 9.5 ounces. I actually regret not getting 5x7 plates. My press takes up some room too, it's about five ft tall, and the feet are about two foot wide.

If your needs are for personal stash no reason to go big. But if you press a lot, it's the same work to press a little or a lot, so go big in that case.

Dabpress dp80 is pneumatic rosin press, need to pair air compressor ( Max PSI 1000)

    I hope it helps

My thought: All-in-one rosin press is easy in use but complicated maintenance. If I were you, I prefer to buy rosin press kit to build my own's.

I'm checking out presses too. For your 3 choices:
    1. dabpress dp80 $499 3 x 4" plates 46 lbs 1200 lbs pressure, vertical air comp 165 psi
    2. MyPress $449 3 x 3 plates 12.9 lbs 12,000 lbs claimed with minimal force
    3. Nug Smasher mini $420 2.5"square or round 25 lbs 4,000 lbs

    Just my own thoughts:
I start with-- plate size and much prefer long/narrow plates vs square or round: Points to dabpress
    - Pressure: First off I'd tend to call BS on the 13 lb MyPress, with minimal hand force giving 12,000 lbs.
The other two should be ok for small presses. What amount do you think you'll be pressing, 1-2 grams??
    - build: hard to assess but dabpress at 46 lbs vs 25 or 13 lbs might be better build

So "small footprint" means no caged plates plus a cheap press for you??
Like the dabpress 3" x 5" caged plates for $300 + $150 10 ton press?? Too big and bulky??

    @shredder, thanks for chiming in.

I plan to press 2-3 gram nugs, probably a few times a week. So just for my personal stash, currently dabbing about 1-1.5 grams of concentrate per week.

@invertedisdead , appreciate the suggestion. Didn't know the setup would be so easy

The NS Mini maxes out at about 3.5g so you would be near the limit, though honestly I think that's a great size for personal use. Caged setup for anything more, both are under $500.

The dabpress 3x7 is pretty awesome for pressing a few grams a few times a week. That’s my usage pattern.

At $399 it comes in under budget. You just need to find a press to set it on. I’d really try to save up for it or the caged 3x5 from dabpress.

I like that nugsmasher mini also but it has it's limits like they all do. The problem is the smaller you go you start getting diminishing returns with the amount of force you are able to generate (with those arbor type manual presses) unless you have a low profile bottle jack in a small frame like this, this required some custom fabrication but that form factor is lovely.

I like the bench top press with a set of plates, and the size doesn't matter, but it's no longer an all-in-one unit though with a cage cube, like others said it's plug and play. I think the 3x3 or 3x5" plates are probably the best option. The way I am looking at the plate size now, round or square, I am ended up with a 2" diameter puck that held between 3.5-7g material, so every 2.25 inches on the plates I can have a bud filled bottle tech filter. 3x7" gives you space for 3 of these bags so 21g at a shot. Obviously this is all subjective to the methods used but I like bottle tech for its ease of use and consistency.

This has been catching my eye too but the plates aren't exactly what I would want in a smaller form factor press. This just requires a pump attached to it, but I am not sure if this form factor will catch on.

That is a really good looking setup, really like the white color. Wouldn't even mind leaving out it in the open. Is that your old setup?

I really like the looks of those DabPress cage presses. I have not looked at performance but they look awesome. LOL

However, real rosin has soul. And you can't have soul... without Rock and Roll. And, you can't have Rock and Roll without ...... yep, Mick Jagger himself and The Rock and Roll Rosin Machine.......

Just open Micks mouth..... which isn't hard with Mick. Place a bud on his tongue....

And..... follow Mick's instructions on how to get Brown Sugar and Sticky Fingers.....

Mick is always there with open mouth to greet you and provide you with some...... Rock and Roll Rosin

    ...........................................................
Mick's the man..... but I'm not sure where his mouth has been :) soooooooooooooooo

when I get my press, I'm setting it up with a giant pic of Tina Turner's thighs, they certainly can crank out some serious PSI . Thanks for the picture idea-- ;)

    Squish on folks,

Back on topic, for all in one presses, the Rosin Tech Twist has a lot going for it: saw it in action at Champs and it was very nice setup: Simple design and no pumps to wear out. Downside was that it really needs to be bolted down

I just bought a set of the DabPress caged plates. They are running a nice coupon right now. I'll be posting the good, the bad and the ugly soon. LOL They should be here tomorrow. :)

Looks like Mick is going to have to take the back stage for a while. LOL

Nice! What size plates did you get @Hackerman ? Perhaps you'll find a way to reincarnate Mick into the dabpress. Brown sugar and sticky fingers, that's what my dabpress has been doing

What do you call a person who is not very handy around the house? Footy? Well I’m a footy fool. You should see the mess I made out of installing a Ring doorbell.

With this self-realization, rather than try to assemble a bench press and purchase a boxed pair of heated plates for squish sessions, I bought an all-in-one device: The Nugsmasher Mini. It comes today. I fully expect buyer’s remorse. Even though I really don’t go through that much concentrate, I know I’ll develop jones for the ability to do large runs. Silly footy Fool. However, The Nugsmasher Mini only weighs 33 lbs. I could be the life of the party, if only I had parties to go to.

Let us know how it works. Nothing wrong with small if it works.

The nice thing about small is that you get to play with it more often. My giant press does a gram of rosin or more at a time. One press and I have enough rosin for a month. LOL In your case, you'll be able to play with your press almost every single day. LOL

1st pressing: I used some Jackie O I've had on hand for over 18 mo. I had kept it with a 62RH Boveda in a Mason jar stored in a dorm fridge at its warmest setting for the entire time. Wow, how flavorful in a new atomizer on my Yocan Cerum. So clean a taste. Something tells me I found a new slice of heaven right here on earth.

2nd pressing: 18 mo Alice in Wonderland. not a good squish

3rd pressing: 3.5 grams Blue Magoo 6 months old
