I've been around here for quite awhile but there's something that always seems to happen and yet, the practice continues and that practice is the desire to purchase a brand new vaporizer design as soon as they become available, or even before they become available. In just about EVERY instance, brand new vape designs that are released on the market go through subsequent design changes that addresses both performance and reliability issues and for many that want to "be the first on their block" to own one of these, many times, they are left out in the cold with a vape that is inferior to those that get these manufacturing updates.

I mean I know that, for the most part, we are enthusiasts here, and as such, we will jump at the chance to get the newest and the latest, but there is a price to pay for this. I just wonder if most here realize the gamble that is being taken when one does this or do they go into the transaction thinking that "THIS TIME", it will be different.

And yeah, I know that many manufacturers are always trying to improve their designs and that it is an ongoing effort, but what I am talking about here is not design improvements, but rather design changes made to address a faulty design when first introduced.

I'm just a bit surprised at how many here are willing to be unpaid beta testers. I don't mean this to be derogatory. Just trying to understand the mindset of not only purchasing a brand new design but prepaying for a brand new design that hasn't even been released yet.

Happened to me w/ the Stealth vape.....happened again w/ the Cera. Too much money, not enough sense. My affliction used to be glass pieces, then vaporizers. Now, I watch others go thru the pain of early adoption. I realized that there will always be upgrades/improvements. For me, it took finding a quality vape that is reliable and effective. Still have 4-5 vapes that I am giving away when the chance arises.....

If there weren't the early adopters then those who purchase later would also receive an inferior product. Someone's got to be a "guinea pig". Sometimes it is nice to be one of the first few to have something that others don't but I tend to share it with those I know.

Early adoption is brutal with everything electronic and always will be.

On the other hand my early model cloud runs AMAZING still. I had the first Underdog on FC I believe and that runs amazing. Had the first walnut MFLB I believe, sold that to vicki and I believe she still uses it.

Sometimes it pays off. I also had the first style (ceramic) solo and had issues with that AND the replacement and several others my friends had. Sometimes it sucks.

Its a gamble like everything else electronic these days IMO.

I was tempted to keep it because of how awesome the thing is. It doesn't help my medical needs anymore, so I'm glad its got a great home haha.

I remember taking the plunge early when T1 came out, being an early adopter is kinda like trying to ride Ol' Bushwacker here, love Shane's comment at the end, the gleam in his eye, its why we do it :D

I took the plunge on a pre-order (the PuffiT) and it was the worst experience ever. it did teach me that i am not the type of individual that can handle "pre-ordering". the stress is too much for me to take. i now know that i can only buy a vape that has been released to the public, tested and reviewed before i can purchase it. the only problem with this is that i MAY lose out on freebies or discounts offered only to pre-order customers. i supposed it's a small price t pay to keep my stress level down.
