is pestering the MFG a good way to get what you want?? the way i see it, it's a good way to make yourself more angry and say things that may or may not be helpful. and if they are not helpful (not saying you are doing this... just setting up a scenario) it causes other members to be mad and post back, then we get a flaming war, finally it all ends up with a MOD locking the thread.

i don't want to see this thread get locked up. there is still lots of time till "spring" when it is supposed to be released. i am sure when the MFG has the videos ready they will post them

Wrong. It has nothing to do with being content. It has to do with respect for a manufacture that is willing to come here and engage with the FC community. We would all like to see the internals of this piece and a video of it's actual use, but most all of us would never be so rude as to demand it.

I'm anxious as well to see what they are trying to get on the market. Their renders are promising and the little things that have been said about it by DV are promising. And that's all we have for now. So yeah, I get it that people want to see more, I do too. But our money is not involved yet. Only our hopes for them to get it right this time.

So give them some space. Maybe advise if you're sure yours might come in handy. But let's keep our focus. They said they are going to try to get this working by march. That's a guestimate for now. They are developing it as we speak. You want them to make a mock up of the renders and show to us? For what use? Let them have all the space they need to get the product ready by march instead of keeping us happy with photos and videos.

Bottom line is, I think most people can see that they are on to something that might become a great product. Let's see! Maybe they do, maybe they don't. I'm giving them allot of credit for giving it a try in the first place.

Anyway, not trying to step on toes, but then again, I'm vaked who knows.

Don't get your hopes too high. Although I believe that it will be released as stated in March, it could very easily April. I just bought a Solo knowing that I may want the Ascent, but like you am a little apprehensive due the the last DV but this just looks so damn awesome. I'll be patient, wait for some reviews, and if it kicks ass i'll pounce. The Solo will always be a good backup or for home/whatever. You can get a solo for $150 shipped on eBay, not a huge investment but it could help tie you over.

To everyone who is telling me to be patient for the videos, listen up. We were told a video of the device would be available by now, so I am only demanding what was originally offered. The only reason that manufacturers "engage the FC community" is to create hype so they can take your money for their sup-par products. I want to see a real video of this product so I know it actually exists, cause if it does I totally want one if it delivers to the original description.

Sub-par products? What in the hell are you talking about? Stating that manufacturers only come here to create hype and take your money on sub-par products is not only inflammatory, but TOTALLY false. While I have no doubt that "some" manufacturers have done this, to make a general statement like that is TOTALLY off the mark.

However, if you truly feel that way, why do you stick around? I sure as hell wouldn't want to be part of a community who is just totally bombarded with bullshit all the time unless I had an out of control group scat fetish.

But I am getting your point. I'm pretty sceptic for now as well. I'm genuinly curious. But don't bash em just yet for not having the video. That's not what I want. I want a unit that deliveres. And they've got plenty of time to get that done.

I'm shure they will show development if there is any.

Guys when we found that youtube CGI video, the representative from da vinci told us that it was the same one he was going to show us, it just wasn't all the way finished.

Hey everyone, I just joined FC. I've had a Vapor Genie for a little over a year now, and it still works wonderfully, but I've decided to get a new vape. If the Ascent is as good as it seems it will be, I'll be buying it for sure. In other words, I'm intensely monitoring this thread lol.

This week has been crazy (as it always is) and thank you all for being patient with me. As a quick update, the video that I was going to post was the CGI vid..and yes, of course it's for marketing purposes. The video is to be used later, but I was going to post it for you first. Oh yeah, the edit is finally finished. I will also attempt to do a quick demo video in the office tomorrow as well..let's see what happens.

Interesting. The diameter of the two tubes seems similar. Does one of them slide into the other? It's difficult to tell from the pictures.

Yes, they slide into each other. The mouthpiece slides over the odd shaped piece, in a smooth sliding action.

Also, the pictures I posted last week are also of a real unit. There were some more open shots of the bowl in that set, but well..these are obviously not my professional photo moments.

Oh man another teaser! God I want this thing (assuming its as functional as it is pretty)! Looking forward to that demo!
Wasn't impressed with the pics of the "grill" before but in these pics it looks sweet!

Got it. Is the "bowl" located within the tubing, or is it a separate chamber?

Edit: I just realized this is a stupid question. If they slide into each other, there is no need for a separate chamber. Please disregard my idiocy.
