Sticks, I think you meant "how is it convection?", correct?

It seems to me to be mostly a conduction design, but there very well could be convection going on as well. Without a more detailed explanation of how vaporization is occuring, we can only speculate. Convection implies that the incoming air is pre-heated and raises the temperature in the chamber. I'd lke to see a schematic of the Ascent to see if that is really the design.

At the end of the day, if it gives good vapor, I don't care that much how it functions. I prefer the taste of convection, but it's not the only thing that makes for a good vape. Even if the Ascent turns out to be mostly conduction, that alone wouldn't rule out my interest in it.

Edit: I'd like to qualify my remark about convection implying pre-heated air. It think that is over-simplifying the issue. I was referring to active convection. There could be passive convection occuring independant of the temperature of the air intake.

    :peace:

To me it appears to be the same as the DV...a combo but on the conduction side.

He actually explained that a bit ITT somewhere.

    This is how I see it;

Yes the herbs against the glass are heated by conduction hence the "mostly" in mostly convection.

But the bulk of vaping (=all the herbs NOT touching the sides) works trough convection.

And if constructed right, the conduction temp on the outside herb is lower or equal to the convection temp on the center herb. If they managed to do this then indeed the fact that there is some conduction heating is irrelevant.

Lost my 2 cents here somewhere...

    Cheers

Hey guys, new member and online retailer. I came across the video below on DV's youtube channel. Doesn't look like anyone has posted it here yet, so thought I would share. Surprised it hasn't shown up on FC or any other sites yet, only has 34 views :\.

V8PE thanks mate! And welcome to FC! Since you're an online retailer make sure to check in with Vtac as per the forum rules.

I guess this is the one DV has been talking about and was supposed to be posted on Tuesday? Or is this the marketing one and he is making another for us with vapour production?

That video was so damn sick! For the first time in my life i've actually considered blindly preordering. Looks just awesome and March release? Well well....

Thank you, excited to be here! I actually did follow procedure for retailers and thought I was good to go, but i guess something happened. I'm here to learn and contribute, not spam anyone.

Pretty psyched I was able to share something new and exciting for my first post :D. Scanned every page in the thread to make sure the video hadn't been posted already, not much slips by you guys.

Not just you Dreamerr ... most of us on this forum are pretty passionate about vaporizing but "us regulars" do always seem to come back because we enjoy the company, discussion, and laughs; also being able to contribute our experiences lets us feel like we're "preaching the good word of vaporizing" ... as it really does need some spokespeople as it seems relatively new to most people ... cannabis as well needs its spokespeople so the 2 go well together.

    Hey guys,

Didn't forget about you, sorry just been swamped. I didn't post the video because it wasn't quite finished being edited, hence the long blank spot at the end! But glad you guys got see it nonetheless.

I have samples coming in on Tuesday or Wednesday and I'll post some pics this week. (You guys are probably getting tired on me saying that) I hope I'll be able to clear up some other questions too. Dreamer is right...some questions I just don't know the answer to, so don't want to lend to any false info. Other questions...I just can't really answer as a manufacturer. Feel free to email me or PM me with some of these.

Regarding Got Vape, it seems that they haven't switched out the new pictures that I gave them so they have old ones up. We still plan on going with the all Black brushed aluminum, a wood model and a skin model. The pictures that I posted way back are more accurate than the renderings. Also, regarding purchasing the unit, we would never force you to buy from one retailer, that would be silly. Of course you can buy it direct, or eventually from other fine retailers, you all use so often.

It would be nice if it's possible to change the temp settings from F to °C

And to just be completely crazy, what about some kind of alarm setting? where it wakes you
up at any programmable time with a nice sound telling us it's ready and on temp for you
to use instantly :smug: shutting off after two minutes of being not touched and going into snooze mode untill picked up.....hey, I'm just saying folks ! ;)
nah, just °C or F choice is good enough for me

Yes begian it would need temp display switchable to Celsius. And of course would have to be available in Europe.

Did the original DV have the ability to show in celcius?

being not available in Europe is not that big of an issue besides maybe the waranty that gets voided, the INH004, pax, cera are some of those vapes that are not sold in Europe but still are easily purchased.
The only real negative thing for us Europeans is that we pay lots more for the same vape than others do.
(with high customs, shipping costs etc)

I'm not sure about that, I never had the DV and by the time I felt like buying it, I discovered the Ascent.

Yes, to toggle between F degrees and C degrees, turn on DV's side switch and then press and hold down bottom button for about 3 seconds. When released, the display will toggle.

If that's the case I don't see why the Ascent wouldn't have that feature.

Fahrenheit to Celcius should be about 3 more lines of code, shouldn't be an issue.

    Correction Belgianvapor:
The Cera will be avalaible in Euope(the T1 and Evo were).
The Inh004 was and the Inhalater XP will be as soon as possible.
Of course the Ascent will be.
