Ordered my ArGo on Monday hopefully, it will be here before the 20th
I just ordered an ArGo from Vapefiend.co.uk for about 185€. Could not resist the low price of the 4/20 deal.
I was always interested how it compares to the Fury2 and can soon test that myself. Really thrilled right now, I just hope I won't be disappointed, because I really love the Fury2 which my GF stole away and considered buying a second one for myself.
Will definitely post a comparison in the Ask FC thread which was opened some time ago, as there seems to be nobody posting there who has both vapes, which I would have never believed to be possible on FC, since we have so many users with such great collections. Maybe it was just overseen ...
Can't wait till it arrives, always tough waiting for a new toy.
Just coming back from Canada with Argo. The only portable vaporizer I own that is easy to carry and Carries no smell. Glass tube easy to clean as and unit has no smell at all. This makes it super special
Thanks for sharing, I've just received my order. The black stem is a bit different than the clear one, the glass is thicker leaving a little bit less space for the herb and it seems to cook the herb to a darker brown. It also fits less tight than the clear glass when you insert it in the ArGo.
As for the WPA, the glass seems thinner than both , but I didn't try it yet.
As to that effect, would anyone have a recommendation for a good online store, Canada/Usa, which would sell a good connector for the WPA? Maybe doing a sell for 4/20?
I've never had an arizer device and I'm super tempted to pick up the Argo.
I love the stem loaded design, portability, and removable batteries, so the only real question mark for me is the vapor quality.
So can any owners comment on the flavor and potency from the Argo?
It looks real good
Basically "second to none". The 'all glass vapor path' system is easy to keep very clean and fresh. You get out just what you put in. No magic, but top notch extraction and very few problems. Consider that between Solo and Air there are a couple thousand pages of praise for the stem system. I dare say there's a positive comment on how it's superior to something else on every one of those pages. And basically no complaints?
Your call, but IMO you won't be disappointed given reasonable expectations.
Any really good 420 specials for inside the US? Thanks all.
I have not see any better deals on the argo than $189. PIU will net you a trees grinder with it.
Argo is $229.95 CDN today at planetvape.ca. Time for me to pull the trigger.
It's fantastic. I have a pretty high tolerance and there's never been a time it wasn't effective. I devised a micro-dosing stem that holds about 2/3's less then the stock stem as well and even with that being done in 5 mins it's still very effective. The taste is incredible just like any other Arizer portable. It's honestly just good as everything else I've tried in those respects. I've noticed that packing it as lose as possible when filling it produces the best vapor.
About how much smaller? Like a noticeable amount? I've devised my own micro-dosing stem that holds about 2/3 less then the stock stem. It's basically just two glass screens sandwiched between two metal screens(one being domed) but it does "fall apart" sometimes when I go to empty it which can be kind of annoying if I'm not at home.
Happy 4/20 peeps!
USPS got me this for 4/20 and I couldn't be happier
Oh well... At least I've got my Dynavap lol
Gee, they didn't give me anything like that.......they must like you more than me.....
Good show you've got a backup, a guy should always have a backup for mission critical gear you know. To not have one is to invite Murphy to help you lose your only vape, have it stolen (including by the heat), fail or otherwise leave you contemplating combustion?
Did anyone ever get a better deal than $189 for the Argo? Hope many took the plunge to try at that price.
The $229 Canadian is actually $179 USD so it is cheaper, but I did not figure in any shipping expenses.
Shipping shouldn't be that much, I just checked the map, it's downhill.......
just tried to put a DynaVap fat mouthpiece on my Argo glas stem. Fits exactly. This has two advantages. No more warm lips during high temp vaping and it is a 14mm wpa. A disadvantage, no more pure glas air path.
remove that plastic coating for the love of god
Done. Same thought when I saw it on the image.
I keep mine on as long as possible......not that I at all plan on it....but it's resale value is in my mind. I guess it is a habit for me on things that are not a phone. I even cut off the little tab part to help keep it on as long as possible without looking raggedy and half on.
Plus...cheap plastic screens need all the help they can get. I should start making screen savers for vapes..haaaa
That's awesome! I've found some things that work like that too and was literally going to make a post about it later today haha. 12mm soft glass grommets work as both 14mm WPA and a flat mouthpiece when flipped around, there's a link to the video below.
I've now had the ArGo for a few days now and it has been a fantastic little vape.
This is my 3rd(ish) vape (also had a Pax 2, Mighty, and several Dynavaps) and I think this one is my favorite right now. I've never tried an Arizer product before, but I really enjoy the vapor it puts out.
The size is perfect for my hands and it doesn't get that hot. I think back to my Pax 2 and how hot the whole thing used to get. During the summer I would have to set it down if I was vaping outside. The main area that heats up on this vape is around where you'd expect (the heater vents on the right corner), but holding it the correct way on the sides yields very little heat on my hands (or they aren't that sensitive).
The vapor it puts out is really pleasing to my throat, which is accustomed to the bit of muscle that Dynavap vapor puts out. It also tastes great, thanks to that all glass vapor path. I like being able to step up the temp as the sesh goes on or just start and end it at 380f. It isn't as milky as the Mighty was, but it will still get you where you need to be reliably like @wisausnk said. I honestly like that it doesn't put out a huge cloud to add to the stealth factor.
The battery lasts quite a few stems, usually 5 or more depending on the temp and sesh length. I love that it takes 18650's. The heat-up time isn't terrible, I usually pack a stem while it's heating and it will be up to temp by the time I'm done packing.
If I had a criticism about the device, it would be the amount of scoobs that I get sometimes. It isn't that bad (especially if you put a bit of a nug at the bottom), but if you finely grind your material it can go through the little holes. The Mendo Mulcher that came with my vape chopped it up a bit much, but my Cali Crusher makes it just big enough so it's not that bad.
Very happy with my purchase and will update in a few months if anything changes
Since I have started to use the SS screens coming with the ArGo in the stem, no problem with fine grinded material at all.
Yea, I cut down screens and bend into a short cup shape. Just like my Air WPA's....no residue and super easy to clean and stir the load quickly.
So this way I can use overly dry flower that is dusty and still be good to go. I have found with whispier or fine grinds.....do not tamp down much at all..leave it slightly medium loose. I stir at least 1 time per full pack stem. A full pack stem to me is about 75% full, over 80% or when it is at the top....causes hot spots at the load end and you will suffer in taste this way. So if you have a nice gap at the top of the stem to the flower top.....you should get better taste.
Also when I do direct draw off it with the WPA, I hold the vape upside down for a gentle first draw. That makes the flower stick to itself and not fall to the end touching the oven bottom. Then flip it around normal for direct drawing and the load should not fall down and create bad taste.
If you are getting somewhat hot to handle, I found that popping the plastic top open helps to be a good finger holding point. This feels nice with the WPA but obliviously will not be possible with the stock stem.
Hi guys - I was loaned an Argo for a few days to try by a buddy of mine.
I really, really like the packaging of this little unit. Very nice in the hand, great small size, and surprisingly the separate glass stem....something I've avoided in the past....didn't bother me a bit.
It is a small portable so I had reduced my expectations a little bit as to vapor density and indeed the visible vapor at 385 and then 410 wasn't really thick like a Might, for example. But it did extract and I was baked afterward.
So, I have not read EVERY post in this thread but I sure read a lot of it but still have a question about loading.
My one main complaint about the Argo (and remember, I have only used this thing once so take it with a grain of salt) is the draw resistance. I sort of felt worn out by the end of the session.
But that takes me to grind and packing. I used the same level of grind (medium to med fine) and sucked up a load out of the container like I would with a VC. No tamping but full and only as compressed as sucking it up will get it (yes, I do expect some of this will end up in the Out of Context thread! haha).
I really didn't know what to do with the pack. I was thinking that it sure looks like it has a significant conduction component and with that I would normally tamp. But its also convection (right?) and if I tamped I'm afraid that draw resistance would become totally unacceptable.
The draw resistance with this load was kind of a bummer.
Any suggestions...I kind of see different feedback on this. Has a consensus emerged about grind, load, and packing?
Its a very cool package. As an older med patient, I really don't vape out and about that much (really hardly at all) so I'm not certain that this vape fits a use case of mine. But I do so like the packaging of it that I really would like to figure out how to optimize its performance and see what I think then.
Fill the stem fully with a side of tamp is how I go about it. It is hybrid heat, convection and conduction, so you don't want a dense pack and you don't want it too loose either. I like the medium to medium/fine grind.
It is easier to keep the glass stems clean for best performance, the small holes clog up over a few sessions for me. Clean the stem quickly after you finish a session, then I refill it right away to have the follow up session ready & on deck. I've found that the cool stem can be hard to remove even after several months of use (beyond break-in).
Dropping the ArGo onto an inverted stem keeps the base of the heater clean but I always check it for bits that fall out, normally only need to dump them out but sometimes I need a tool to dislodge it/them. Invert the ArGo to keep stem facing up when removing to prevent ABV dumping downward.
