We watched Bruno, simple fun. Cute enough show. I'll watch the next season when it comes out. We are still watching What/If, I like it better than my husband, who isn't really feeling it. On another network- HBO has Chernobyl, and we watched episode one. Suggested as a good one.

Binged 4 episodes of Stranger Things 3 last night with my almost 13 y.o. daughter and am loving it. Getting my work done so I can binge the final four episodes later today. Best season yet. The story is tight, unlike the meandering make it up as you go feeling of the first two seasons.

So far, I'm liking the very positive female vibe of the show. Several strong female characters. Sabrina rocks the female characters too. We went to see End Game on its re-release a couple of days ago. I'm not a marvel fan but I managed to survive the 3.5 hr. experience. That movie attempts to portray strong feminine characters but it does so artificially. Sabrina and Stranger Things 3 build the strong female characters over the duration of the story instead of just popping them on screen for a quick nod to 'female super hero power.'

I watched the first four episodes tonight, and I get the opposite feeling. I feel like it's lost something that made the first two seasons special.

One of the big things that's made this show so special was the 80's and 90's nostalgia...and it feels like, though they are wearing the same costumes, a lot of that specialness is gone this season, and it just feels like a new show wearing older costumes. But the spirit of the show has been diluted.

Been watching a spanish show from 2017 called "La Casa de Papel" (The Paper House), which Netflix recently hosted and rebranded as "Money Heist". It's lots of fun.

I'm halfway through the second season so far, and it's still plenty of fun.

Trailer:
(The trailer above is subbed, but the copy on Netflix is available dubbed)

Another Life.

Eight episodes in and still watching. Typical Netflix original series structure: suck you in, drag you along, leave you hanging... I dig the sci-fi feel of this one. If you liked The Expanse you may like this one too.

Stranger Things 3 was great. I recently watched "The Society" which is almost a combo of a trashy teen drama with lord of the flies plus socialism. It's a pretty interesting watch, my fingers are crossed it gets renewed. Tuca and Bertie is another one I was really enjoying but was super disheartened to see it wasn't renewed for a second season :(

I guess I’m addicted after watching Another Life in 2.5 sessions cause I went searching for something to watch and watch and came up with In The Dark which has got my interest.

I let my daughter watch another life, covering her eyes and ears as I felt necessary. Upon dong this each time I do it I wonder why they feel such a need to include ‘mature’ language and ‘mature’ content (= sex) in otherwise ok shows. By and large it offers nothing to the story so wtf do they bother. Just to fill minutes?

Anyway ITD is worth a try if you are of the mind to binge a bit.

Go and watch the boys, by far the best superheroic series on tv.

The Boys was good.

They just released another season of Glow, so I guess that's what I'm watching this weekend.

I watched the first couple episodes. I thought it was "mehh".
There seem to be much more interesting glass-making competitions/similar shows freely available on youtube.

...I'm probably going to finish watching it though. lol

About to watch "The Great Hack"...trailer's already scary, from my privacy point of view (not that I didn't know about this all).

Favorite Netflix of all time: Peaky Blinders. It's about organized crime in northern England after World War I, fascinating story and characters.

And on a lighter note, Trailer Park Boys is one of my Netflix faves.

I have been waiting 30 fucking years for Kobra Kai.

This show is so fucking great! Had no idea the second season dropped, got about halfway through the second season last night.

I think Cobra Kai is on Hulu, not Netflix.

Is there any thread that already exists for good new shows and movies in general that are not on Netflix?

I think I looked a while ago, and didn't see one. There aren't a lot of people that respond to this thread, a dedicated few, really. Maybe if someone would group together some sites, Hulu, Prime, whatever else there is.

A show thread and a Movie thread would be nice...or just a general film junkies thread that includes both.
