I'd played Bass in a Rock band when I was growing up .
Did mostly ' cover songs ' from Zep , Alice , Kiss , Hendrix , Judas ...
But loved the Slap/pop Bass sounds from Funk music . In fact I like
a lot of different genres of music growing up .

Back then , I had 2 sets of Clics , I hung around with .
The Long haired Rockers and the Neatly coiffed Disco boys .
I met the disco friends working at Macdonald's at age 16 .
( Ya , I was that kid , that worked at a fast food franchise )
The 2 groups NEVER partied together , it would be sacrilegious
and possibly fistacuffs would break out . That's how serious
we took our musical tastes , It makes me chuckle now that I
think about it ...

I was also in a band in high school. We played for private parties and wedding receptions. CB clubs we played a variety of music even country western depending on who we played for. The CB clubs liked the Country Western but they liked stuff like Proud Mary and Midnight Special too. Citizen Band radios is what a CB is. They had clubs all over the state I lived in at the time. I don't know know if they still do or not now?

I was a singer but played some organ, plus cow bell and tambourine if you call those instruments. My best girlfriend was the drummer. Plus 2 or 3 guys that played guitar. We made some pretty good money too. Eventually we all grew up went different ways. It was one of the happiest days of my life. Sometimes I still sing for weddings.

EDIT
And yes I did sing some of Carole King's songs too. I had these hideous white boots that I used to wear. We though they were really cool at the time.

Well baked and perfectly toasted.
Been tokin' for 33 years. Started out in Spain where I went to high school with the bounty of Moroccan hash and Lebanese Blond hash in addition to the bounty of all that Amsterdam had to offer. Coming back to the states was a big let down but I adapted. I never thought I'd see it legal anywhere in the US let alone the state I live in.

Sid and Marty Croft.. Man that's FRIGGEN OLDSCHOOL! I used to watch this way back in grade school. Where there two more shows? I remember a Sea Monster one and I thought there was a 3rd?

Damn I used to love this show.. Some sweet childhood memories right here!

My friend was a Sleezestack for Halloween in 84 and I think I was a Cylon from BSG If I remember right!

Big BattleStar Galactica fan here too!

If I recall properly, Sigmond and the Sea Monster & HR PuffinStuff (which is definitely a code name for a toker if i've ever heard one!)

The old or the new BSG?.. c'mon it's ok to be honest! :freak: I love them both in their own regard though! I remember how much my sister had a crush on Dirk Benedict! LOL no wonder she was always out in the living room when I was watching BSG and The A Team! Haha!

I just googled it after posting since it struck my interest so much.. Yeah I remember Sigmund and PuffinStuff!

Anyhow currently watching BSG On Bluray with the old lady. It's my 2nd time and her 1st! Just made it past season 2 but I forgot something man.. Where did Razor fit in? Season 3? I need to read up on that before we get there!

[36 here, I can remember as far back as the late 80s. It was a blast things were much simpler then, of course I was a child so that might have had something to do with it. He man, thundercats, G.I. Joe, WWF were my things.

Now that I look back at it, I still cant believe I have been using Cannabis for 20 years!I still wish Vaporization had been Invented back then.

Back when if cops saw you smoking marijuana in a public place, they would just tell you to turn it off and take it somewhere private, or is they wanted to give you a hard time, they would write you a ticket with a small fine. Now people get arrested here for that, yeap, its all a big business.

Back in the early days when I was in my 20s we would buy an ounce of cannabis for $50. :myday: We had this square Tupperware container that I would use to separate the seeds. I would tip the container and the seeds would roll to one side.

I had this little roller and some papers and rolled it all into joints. This cannabis in the picture is real green our weed was more brown and golden with tons of seeds and stems. It also had that earthy taste. I didn't use a grinder, I just used my fingers to make it more of a finer consistency to prepare for rolling.

Remember when you would accidentally get a seed in with your joint while smoking? You don't want that hot seed landing on your lap or the shag carpeting.

Vaporing is sooooo much better.

That could be a picture of me cleaning an ounce—or maybe not. I don't see enough stems ands sticks. In the day, an ounce was usually about one-third stems and seeds by weight. At any rate that's exactly how I used to do it, right down to boxtop tray (mine was from a shoebox) and business card scraper. Also, there was a strong compulsion to keep and use the same "tools" all the time. I still have some of them.

68 next week. :myday:

Either a box lid or an album cover for me. Remember some albums opened up even though there was only a single LP? My favorite for this task was Cheap Thrills by Big Brother & the Holding Company - featuring Janis of course. Wore out the inside of this one with a cheap plastic card almost as badly as I wore the grooves out of the vinyl!

Still find much of my crap from the old days in various boxes, too. Even came across a shoe box top a couple months ago - complete with a few seeds stuck under the flaps.

I used an aluminum brownie pan with a slide-on cover...though have older memories of shoe box lids, too.

I rolled joints with Esterilla Bambu rollers http://i515.photobucket.com/albums/t357/NBachers/Esterilla Bambu.png prior to the mid-90s. Then switched to a wood pipe which fit perfectly in my hand. I loved it. Got to glass pot pipes sometime between 2005-10 when my youthful connection gave me a cheap one to prove it worked better than wood for smoking the chronic he was selling me. Then finally, in March of 2014, I got an Ascent and have vaporized since. Still have some of the old stuff, too, in an even older wooden cigar box; they're keepsakes now.

(Off-Topic - bump 'cuz I'm vaped)

Edit: I have (or had...might've thrown them out) tiny plastic packages of seeds in the cigar box, saved in case there was ever a need.

Since we're getting into the smoking, does anyone remember these? I must have gone through about 10 of them and other similar cheap pipes back in the day. Found glass in the early 90's and used it or homemade soapstone from then on.

And, remember flavored papers? I didn't use them much but a smoking buddy of mine loved them. She'd get banana, strawberry or grape - the worst! She really liked having purple joints, tho. Kids don't still use the crap, do they?

Had one just like it, @flotntoke. Mine had a replaceable bowl. Pulled out the oversized wooden one for "partying" with a group of three or more. Those wooden ones would get caked with resin and charred... Was known to have resorted to scraping them when desperate for some ABC (already been charred) ;)

The above picture I found online. It's not one of mine. Our weed would have had more stems and seeds. An ounce 1/2 was seeds and stems. I would use 2 papers so the joint would burn slower. With a roller it was easy to roll too tight. I never did learn the art of rolling a joint like some of you.

Saturday nights we would play poker with friends, smoke joints and watch the greatest show Saturday Night Live with the original cast. We had never seen anything like it. A few years later we were shocked when John Belushi died of an overdose.

EDIT
@poonman pointed out my error - this is second season SNL, no Chevy Chase.

My wood pipe has the bowl carved into it and takes metal screens...would use past tense, but it's still buried in the closet. Anyhow, I scraped out resins using a heated skewer with slightly bent end and saved clumps on folded matchbook covers to smoke when couldn't re-up for whatever reason. Can't count the times that helped.

Edit: Am so grateful things have changed here and hope they change soon everywhere. Lack of access sucks.

That was the 2nd season pic , Bill Murray replaced Chevy Chase . iirc

' Red Skelton ' he was one of my early favs , for physical comedy ...

I'd used album covers and magazines for de-seeding .

This is an actual picture of our hardware from the olden days. I couldn't throw them away, many years of use as you can see from the wear. One night I accidently threw a pipe in our wood stove late at night when I was toooo medicated so that one was lost. We didn't spend much money on gear all our money went into product eventually at $550 an ounce.

EDIT
You are right.
I just thought of that, you know you're SLN @poonman i left out Chevy. I loved Bill Murray and still do. They needed him for the cafe skit about the hamburger, hamburger - was it no Coke, Pepsi. They were a family of immigrants running a cafe they were from Russia or elsewhere.

I wanted to add this.

Can't say for certain myself ;), but Jr HS & HS loose joint sellers learned pretty quick. Rolling 50 from an OZ every other day gives plenty of practice! And, after a week of that not too hard to use single Tops. Cheaper, no gluing them together, and thick shit like that was less likely to rip or tear while in the rolling groove or in transport.
