ABV Cannabutter the Samuel L Jackson Way

I am planning on making this in the next day or so and have a question about quantity... I was thinking use at least 20g per stick of butter, but is this overkill. My abv may be pretty well used up. Can anyone offer advice? Here is the ABV...

nope i think that will be fine man 20g per stick. is a stick a 1 lb block? I have out way more than that in my batches before. when you cut up your treats though start slowly so you can figure out the dose properly.

That ABV looks pretty green. I'd say you still have quite a bit of cannabinoids left in there for cooking. And I'd definitely check out the cooking threads. We have lots of local experts here at FC.

OK, made the cannabutter last night. Used about 45 grams or so and two sticks of butter. Got up this morning and made cookies with the majority of it (the recipe called for 1 stick of butter, probably used 1 3/4 sticks) Now the wife has some to play with and use as she sees fit, and there are a dozen or so big cookies waiting for me when I arrive home tonight. I was tempted to try one on the way to work, but didnt want to chance being TOO ripped while at work. I will try them out tonight and report back the results

That was incredible! I liken it to the first time I smoked, feels a lot like that. I had a few things to do last night, and I didnt want to drive for a few hours! I ate one cookie, about 5-6 inches across and... :ko: :ko:

When I ate my first "real" edible earlier this year each cookie has about a gram of bubble hash in it so I just take one bite, maybe 1/3 of it, :o . . . man I will never forget that first one. I was so baked . . . for hours and hours . . . heavy body work that night. Great for circulation, everything warms through so toasty, and the joint pain just seems to take a few steps back . . . ahhhhh! :peace: at last!

Looks like some solid ABV bud there, but it depends on how much each stick weighs; if it's a pound then I'd up the gram count, however if they are quarter pound sticks then you sir will have some very potent cannabutter on hand. 45 grams will definitely be epic, enjoy those edibles and can't wait to hear about the end result!

first medical edible i had was in the SD and SF airport terminal, waiting to board. ate 1/2 each time. Boy was that the best hour flight ever :ko:

I'm curious about how much butter you used too. 2 lbs or a 1/2 lb?

I have about 35 grams of ABV weed, though it's much darker than yours. Most of the time, I was filling 3-4 bags finishing at 401 degrees-F. I know it's past the 390 degrees-F 'vape zone' but I figure there is still a small amount of cannabinoids left to extract. I can add a pic later.

I don't think it would hurt to add stems either, if I grind them very finely. Right?

What method did you cook the butter? I was going to slow-cook it overnight with water and 3/4 lb (1.5 cups) high-fat butter and filter it through cheesecloth. Though, on this website I see more posts about a 30 minute stovetop method instead of a crockpot.

I have done it a few times with this guys ratio
2 ounces(56g) per pound of butter and 1 cup of water(using abv instead of fresh). Does anyone think this is too much or is there no limit really as long as it is covered?

Last time it didn't really effect me and one guy told me it made him throw up, but I did not believe him because he was the only one. This time however the batch seems to be much better!

Yes, this is pretty much exactly how I do it and I've tried a few different ways before. I use about an ounce of chopped bud with 1.5 sticks of butter (0.8 pound) - which is a bit less than Tokin' Black Guy (love the name) but I simmer it for 4-5 hours with maybe 4 cups of water. The budder floats to the top anyway when you cool and refrigerate, so I don't think a bit more water dilutes anything. This makes potent green budder for me - one choc chip cookie is enough to get a pleasant buzz - and three was suitable for seeing Roger Waters live ;) I don't reckon you need a pressure cooker or any special equipment, just a large stove top pot, lid and low temp for hours. Hope your cooking goes well

I agree that the ABV looks green, even, and very potent. Just out of curiosity what vape did you use to acquire this ABV? A log vape perchance? That's what I mainly use and my ABV is just about the same.
The only downside to log vapes in my opinion is they are almost *too* efficient - it takes forever to amass a collection of material for edibles.

Yeah I would say your low on the amount of ABV. But it may suit your need. I make mine as strong as possible.

I don't know about that, the ABV I use is still pretty green I usually only do 2 bags with my arizer extreme at 200~. Sometimes even one bag.

I also don't grind the abv. It may make it more potent, but you get way to much flavanoids that way. Your butter will be extra green. And I only simmer it for less than 15 minutes.
I think the max I can fit in a lb of butter is ~4oz ABV. Any more and it burns.

ROFL that guy is wearing a mask but theres a picture of him and his GF on the fridge behind him... oops

Either way he said he's a medical patient so if he's certed I don't know what he's worried about. Still a good recipe and a well done video but I couldn't help but laugh.
