About a month ago I finally forked out the cash for a true vaporizer, the No2 by Vapir. I knew that the experience would be different from the old fashioned method of combustion but I didn't know just how much better I'd enjoy vaporizing. I've lived with Tourette's Syndrome for most of my life and I've been on all sorts of medications to control it and the mental issues that go with TS sometimes (depression, anxiety, C/ITD). All of them came with side effects that greatly outweighed any benefits, plus they were tough on my stomach. I've known for the last 20 years that marijuana gave me the relief I needed, but smoking came with a price outside of the legal issues. First, I never fooled myself into thinking something that felt like THAT in my lungs was good for me and sometimes the burn wasn't worth the benefits. Secondly, combustion carries with it toxins that account for a lot of the "muddy-headed" feeling you get from marijuana. Finally there is of course that unmistakable odor that comes with combustion. Vaporization handles all of these problems with ease. Vaporizing means no smoke. No smoke means no toxins. I can actually take two or three pulls on my No2 in my car before going in to work and perform my job as a server with no muddy-headed issues. I actually am making more money now than before because I am relaxed and my Tourette's is well managed for the first time in years. No smoke also means no odor (except for a slight odor on your breath, my daughter almost busted me on that one) so no worries about the wrong people catching a whiff. I've vaped in my room with the door shut and fan dispelling the exhaled vapor (no windows open) just to test it. No problems at all. People have commented how much better of a mood I seem to be in now and nobody makes any comments about "what did you smoke?" anymore because I am clear-headed even when I've vaped (mostly, I won't say it's totally clear but any fogginess is short-lived while the benefits last for hours). Like I said, a real gamechanger, and I'll never go back to smoking.

Great post and welcome! I am fairly new here too but smoked only once since oct 13. I find I can do so much more with my time and far less lazy. Plus use way less too.

I hated the smell of combustion as well! All my wooden pipes stank like burnt shit, bongs smelt like.. ugh.. don't even want to remember.

    Kudos man, and congratulations!

The No 2 was my first vape as well. A sturdy device that is easy to use. It uses batteries that you can take out and recharge when needed. I bought 2 extra batteries to have on hand. I still use it every so often. The price has gone down and you can buy one for $100 or less. It not too stealth because it's a bit large but you can get a car charger with it.

Enjoy better health and better control with Tourette.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I'm definitely looking into a car charger for the No2 and probably an extra battery too as one of the few drawbacks with the device is a short battery life when not plugged into an AC outlet (about an hour). Not a complaint, just one of the few cons next to a long list of pros. I've read through the forums dedicated to the No2 and have already picked up some great tips, one in particular that has brought my game up another level.

    It's always 4:20 somewhere y'all

    Greetings from the South.

Me too. I can make 3.5 last almost a week now, up from around 3 days with the old method.

I know what you mean. When new those devices weren't so bad, but like you said, after they'd gotten used a bit the smell wasn't as pleasant (esp. if you only used mid or commercial in it). I've been a little ballsy with it and started vaping with the windows closed. No problems at all, I'm estatic because opening a window in winter sucks around here, lol.

    Thanks, friend.

Thanks, I've already been checking that one out :-)

I went from 7g a week to 2g now (12 x 0.17g bowls ran through 3 times), so around a 70% reduction. I have a glass vape but prefer my volcano mainly due to ease of use and feels my weed goes much further, found glass vapes I was hitting like I used to bongs and not what I want vaping for now.

Well a Volcano would be nice, but the price on that one is way more than I can afford at the moment.
I've never tried one of those but I've heard it's worth twice what they ask for it. That thing is a little harder to stash in my room than the No2 as well, lol. "Hey what's that big triangular lump under the sheet?".

Welcome from a fellow southern vaporist! I feel your pain about the toxins in smoke; after you start vaping only, I'm not sure it's ever possible to go back to combusting and be OK with it.
Good luck with your battle with Tourette's and I'm glad that MJ helps you avoid nasty pharmaceuticals. Good Vibes and a cloud of vapor sent your way.

Or in ancient, "I prayed for you."

This cheered me up and got me thinking about how regardless of state of the world there will always be the creator and him wanting to reach out to you.
