I wish there was a way to remove the battery and store the glass stem in the bore! That would make it more portable and it would be AWESOME!!! :science:

Yeah thatd be neat, store your batt separately instead of the stem, but probably too tricky to make work width wise?

I've been fighting for stem storage here from day one, but to keep cost and size down, keeping it bare bones, but with offer of a separate case for stems.

Then later another model will have it all in one

Oh man you put both of them up for preorder already, and for sale, too. You don't understand. I'm a college student who already had to cancel his GH preorder to get the Zion. Goddamn man, I think you're trying to make me go broke! Haha I thought I would at least have the Zion in hand before I had to worry about warding off the VAS for the other vapes in the Zion line. Apologies if I'm a bit all over the place right now. We had a bonfire at my place tonight and I'm a bit on the tipsy side. Seriously though, stop making vapes faster than I can afford to buy them! Keep up the good work @RastaBuddhaTao ;)

SOON I love that word even more now.
@slatihe I had forgotten all about a 'kicker' I suppose it would all depend on how much power the 650 single was pulling. I can only find 5-12w so it may not be a viable option.

Sorry you couldn't find one to suit your needs easily. Did some quick searching and it seems "kicker" as an official name (by the company evolve) is reserved for a variable wattage up to about 15w, would work grate if you want to limit down to that point...

Any way not quite the dodad i was thinking of. That one you set the wanted watts and forget about it, it adjusts the voltage coming from batts to meat any given resistance from any atty you attach automatically at that set wattage up to 15w.

Was thinking of the informal slang kicker module (vr only to specific)... not the brand name that only regulates wattage, though a vw might be better, i guess if you could find the right tolerances. I didn't even know there WAS a brand name!

Found one that covers 3.2v to 4.8v... was hoping for something more like 5.x volts or 6 volts.... but might be just right for you? You mostly want to adjust down right? Will have to check it's specks a bit better, not sure what is current limits are.

Seems every one forgot about these now that vv/vw mods are taking over the world... will look around on China sites over the weekend for you. The circuits should still be out there, just might be a bit hard to find since thier main use had been abandoned for couple years now.

Just thought the form factor would be perfect you know?

:)

Thanks @slatihe I would like the ability to run at lower temps. but I always finish on the highest setting on my 05. Adjustable power is hopefully going to be an option in the future. The future all seems to be appearing in the present at the moment.

Regarding that subject about the mouthpieces, GonGs back on pages 4-5...How about a retractable short-stem GonG that could be attached to a male WonG/J-Hook???

Please don't hesitate to hit REPORT on this 1 tho, it does sound a bit crazy :freak: even for the OP...

@phattpiggie: I really dig the idea you proposed about slimming the shape of it, I was going to ask something similar; leaving 1-2cm at the top & bottom as wide as they are now, but slimming it down towards the center, so you can get a better grip on it.

My travels through the e-cig world lead me to the current Zion chip. Conduction vaporizing needs a ton of power running from 30 - 50 watts depending on the unit. This is challenging in the e-cig world as the pens with the small kicker boards typically cap out at below these thresholds. Once you get in these power requirement ranges you need step up into the box mods. Even then you have to be careful because many of the units will deliver the power for the 3 seconds required for a e-cig juice hit but many will overheat after 10 or 15 seconds of continual on time. There are a ton of cheap Chinese chips out there but we opted for one of the best IC companies in the world for our chip... did you see we baked it for 5 hours at 150 F. It cost 4 times most DC to DC converters but electronics is the one area not to cut corners if you want happy customers.

Now, outside a boost / buck chip, guys run stacked 18650's straight up manual and this is what the new single and dual battery units are doing. This is raw power straight from the battery to the heater. We have some other clever control ideas kicking around but they need some R&D work. The challenge with most design concepts that fill the void between running manual and a regulated voltage chip is they cost nearly as much and don't do it nearly as well as a DC/DC chipset. The main issue is the most viable option is a voltage regulator but they just trim off the top to buck the voltage down and they rest is waste heat making a very inefficient device.

So, once we start to design the full featured model where do you want the smaller button, where do you want the thumb wheel for voltage control, do you want a wood cap? Do you want the stem to be integrated into the body like the PAX or is that too much complexity and another thing to break? Dou you want a place to stash the mouthpiece in the unit or will that make it too big? would you like to have a separate smell proof wooden cylinder that holds the mouthpiece and some stash? The chip and wiring will take up a fair amount of room even if we mount it to a custom PCBA so can the unit stand to get bigger? All great stuff to crownbrain on.

BTW... added lifetime warranty for the first 50 units :)

RBT when products work as advertised and are truly a step above and beyond any other competition you don't need the frills. Leave that shit for those that can't. Eventually once you're set up and no longer needing as much beta testing then you should market it to the uneducated masses. That's when you need to make it pretty. For now KISS.

My buddy just got a mod that has a wheel to change voltage and you also push the wheel to fire it. His only gripe about it is that the wheel spins a little to easy so every once in a while he changes the voltage while hitting it.

A lcd display screen letting you know voltage/temp/battery life would be cool. They have display screens with what I think are called gravity sensors which display the screen right side even when inverted. Would be a nice feature when using a wp.

Being able to store the mp with the unit would be great! I wouldn't mind a slightly bigger box if it was able to contain everything and not have to carry an extra piece with me to use it. I've never used a pax so I can't comment on that.

I can't wait to see what you develop in the feature.

Well for the last 3 and a bit hours I've been in a right quandary. I have posted a load of ideas that have been floating around in my head since I first heard about the 18650 single and a shit load more since we've all followed the evolution of all the RBT offerings.
I want simplicity but I want adjustability along with ergonomic form and sizing coupled with bombproof reliability. Sometimes one has to be sacrificed for the other. I am sat here typing and then deleting what I have written I don't know which way to turn. It don't happen often but I am lost for words and this is a very alien concept for me.
I shall return when I am full of roast duck dinner and have had a couple or three cannabinoid infused shots of inspiration.

Man, that sounds brilliant. I love the pure style, but for this one a nice little tech control and info built-in feature would be awesome.
Also share the opinion to have everything needed onboard... everything's too smart to carry the stem seperately.

Edit: maybe there's the chance to have a regular fire button and around it some kind of temp dial... gear style (center is the button)
