    Tek BHO to E-juice?

I'm late to the pen vape scene. I've been vaping for years - an old Volcano, PD, Underdog, MFLB, etc. I've also been making BHO, mostly for use in edibles (candy), with the occasional dab session. The two generally haven't converged. I've been watching the pen/mod scene and waiting for the time...

    The Magic-Flight Box

Ha! The most low-key flash mob ever. I know it's the Interwebs and everything, but it's surprising that folks from the board don't get together occasionally. I split my time between NYC & Boston - I'm up for a meeting in either.

What was your first experience with vaping?

After having read about it for some time, I bought a used Volcano on eBay to see what it was all about. I believe that was in 2007. Using it was actually my first time vaping, and I haven't looked back. Now I have an MFLB and three PDs, and the 'cano is still around for parties. I haven't...

    Dark oil - ABV extract

Nick, you hit the nail on the head there. What's left in the duff after vaping seems quite CBD/CBN-heavy, and THC-light. You can get a good couchlock going with just brownies, but, overall, I find them enjoyable. The first clue I have that the brownies are taking hold is feeling the pressure...

    Dark oil - ABV extract

Wow, you are definitely conserving at 5. I usually pull two bags, one at 5.5, one at 6.5. And I generally make brownies with the duff (that are pretty potent). They'd be killer if I just vaped at 5, I think. Good on ya. -SY

    Volcano Noise

I think noise just comes with the territory with a Volcano. Mine's used mostly for the "party bag", and my PD fills the personal, silent need

Vaping Temperatures - Why Go Higher?

I understand what you're both getting at. There's a pressure difference. With a tube, it's atmospheric at the bowl, and slightly below that in the tube, causing the airflow. With a fan/pump (e.g. Volcano), there's also a pressure difference. It's slightly above atmospheric below the bowl, and...

Swamp Water / Golden Dragon a use for your abv/avb

Before I discovered the wonders of this forum, I lurked at GrassCity for quite a while. There's a reasonably good edibles forum there (http://forum.grasscity.com/incredible-edible-herb/, which seems, these days, to be inexplicably mostly devoted to firecrackers. By and large, I think the...

    Amsterdam

I've gone several times solo, and I enjoy it. It's sort of a weird city -- you're not as likely to strike up a conversation in a coffee shop as you might think. There are of course lots of tourists, but who wants to talk to a group of obnoxious Americans? (disclosure - I'm an obnoxious...

Vaping Temperatures - Why Go Higher?

What? I don't sound like an ass? I'm going to have to step up my game. In my defense, I think I was drunk and smoking a hookah when I wrote that (hey - I don't smoke anything else, so I can have a vice, right?). Of course I'm drunk now, too. Damn. Seriously, though, I think I vape on the...

Swamp Water / Golden Dragon a use for your abv/avb

Indigal, you're making me hungry. I'll be interested to see your further posts. As I said in another thread (on brownies), my next trick is going to be to try lollipops. I'm not much of a candy maker (more of a cook than a baker, apart from bread), though, so it should be fun. I just wish I...

    Amsterdam

I'm with Sanjo. While you can sample numerous (often improperly cured) strains, the real draw for me (been 4 times) is the hash. We just don't get much here, and there is some amazing hash in the 'Dam. Check out Coffeeshopdirect.com for maps and reviews and such.

How Much Do You Pay For Bud?

I pay $420/oz for higher end mids, and up to $550 occasionally for named strains (Jack Herer, Juicyfruit, etc). More than most of you, but it's a supply and demand question. I'm in Boston, and the decriminalization of possession of <oz earlier this year seems to have dropped prices a bit.

How long does a 1oz. of good bud last you in you vaporizer

Personally, I think that the strain (indica/sativa) is as important as the quality. I like sativa-heavy strains, both smoked and vaped. For me, the flavor plays a good part, too, and the expensive stuff usually tastes better (to me). Mids are no doubt quite effective, too, but the fact that the...

    What vaporizer should I buy?

Don't use a crappy thermometer to measure your temps. Get a cheap thermocouple ($20-30) and you'll be happier, I think. The instant read thermometers are basically just inferior thermocouples housed in a stem, anyway. As for a vape, I'll suggest you consider a used Volcano from eBay. The...

    Vapor Brownies (ABV Cannaoil)

I've only used 151, but it's because that's what I had on hand (good for flaming rum drinks :ko:). I can get Everclear, though, so I think that'll be next. I would likely dilute the resulting tincture by a third or so, making dosing easier (not to mention consumption).

Vaping Temperatures - Why Go Higher?

I agree that we may take it a little further than necessary, but that's what we're here for, no? It may be that a few degrees does or doesn't matter, but we're the ones figuring that out empirically, and I, for one, enjoy the discussion here as we try to figure out what's really going on...

    Vapor Brownies (ABV Cannaoil)

I haven't used the "simmer" method for my Golden Dragon before (and I've gotten great results). But I think that you guys are using a much higher alcohol/duff ratio than I have, which means more efficiency, assuming the effectiveness is similar. I'm going to go with the simmer method for my...

Vaping Temperatures - Why Go Higher?

I've said it before -- with the Volcano, one of the most important, and almost never included, variables is the size of the bag. That determines the volume of air that has passed through the bowl. Even if you pass a 500 degree blast of air over something for 20 seconds, it's not the same as...

    I have a Volcano - should I get a PD?

Honestly, I think that the Volcano, with about a 28-30" bag (solid valve, and that's my usual bag size) is pretty good for me. One bag does the trick nicely. I'm entirely happy with my 'cano. That being said, it's always nice to have alternatives. Currently, my only alternative is a bubbler...
