I have to check my book "Hashish" by Robert Clarke (or something), thought he talked about a traditional steam distillation that either he or someone else has said is not very efficient. I wonder how chemistry effects steam distilation, I mean the fact trichomes are not water soluble.

ethanol is made from sugar. Not sure if any sugar is left after distillation.

I must say the image is disturbing. Before using your brand of everclear, may I suggest you take this powder residue and add it to some brownies and try out these brownies on your mother in-law. If she is fine after eating the brownies then your good to go.

Everclear -190proof, same thing as 190 proof ethanol, I think?, is the stuff to use for the second solvent in double extractions. I assume that their is a good reason why it is trusted for the final extraction in the purest oils and absolutes. Also, I know ethanol is used outside of hash oil...
