^ It's meant to be used for the bottom. It works pretty good, but it's a mess to clean. If you find that too much material is falling through into your unit or going into the bag, try the FINE screen on top and bottom for the easy valve.

I find that when moving up only a quarter of a notch, it's not much of a difference and here's why. The Volcano Classic moves up 12*C every notch/number. So from 6 to 7 it goes from 190*C to 202*C. The air temperature is always fluctuating about +/- 5*C. Moving it up .25 of a notch (or 3...

I never leave the filling chamber, "bowl", on the Volcano if it's not being used to fill the bag or preheat. I stir the bowl between each filling. When I'm ready to vape, I put the bowl on the Volcano and turn the air on until vapor comes out, then I put the bag on.
