Everyone's different I suppose! I just feel like it's a bit cooler and less harsh for me. Maybe noticeably was a poor word choice, somewhat cooler would probably be a better way to describe it.

To answer some of your questions, this is exactly how I use mine pretty much 95% of the time, both with the xl wpa and bent mouthpiece. Newport is excellent, it's made by the same factory that manufactures the highly regarded Lucienne and Stok brands of butane iirc. I've been using it in my torches for about 6 months and have had 0 issues with it.

You will absolutely love the stuff from ID. Ive got both the Silo and Launchpad, and they both get used daily. The Silo looks like a magic marker, and is 100% smellproof in my experience.
