Depends how hot it is/how quickly you want to reload. I usually take two good pulls with the vape turned off. It'll still be fairly hot after that. If I want to reload quickly, I'll pop it open and blow on the crucible while it's in the slot. That'll usually do the job. If I have time, though...

Judging from the picture, I think you might have put too little material in. I used to get uneven AVB and some pretty dark spots. Packing just a little bit more fixed it for me. The temperature bug a lot of people seem to have could also be the culprit.
